Why doesn't my imbedded video play on iPad?

Why doesn't my imbedded video play on iPad?

Is it running flash? Because the iPad 2 does not run flash. Or it could be a bug in the embeded video. Run the debugger and see if that helps. Good luck :-)

• Why doesn't my converted video play in iTunes but on my iPad?

Hey folks,
I most recently converted my AVI DVD Backups to comply with my iTunes / iPad / iPhone environment.
One of the TV Shows ("Arrested Development" if anyone cares) shows some kind of awkward behavior:
Device
Sync / add to Library
Plays
iTunes
yes
no
iPhone 4
yes
yes
iPad 1
yes
yes
The files doesn't seem to be corrupt, as they play perfectly fine on VLC, but when I launch them in iTunes the Video window opens in the correct size, but remains black. Even if I stream the movies through home sharing to other iOS devices it plays fine. I used iFlicks to convert the files.

please guys, any Idea?

• Why doesn't my mp4 video play from an HTML5 Course?

I have an online course that consists of 6 slides. 4 of those slides are for delivering streaming video from a Flash Streaming Server. Per our LMS Solution Provider, I have modified the streaming path names so they point to the mp4 files on the streaming server. I have the same online course that is published as HTML/SWF to SCORM2004. That version of the course has the video place holders pointing to the same directories on the Flash Streaming Server, except the stream path/name points to the FLV video files. That course plays just fine. I have a Flash Streaming Server test tool from my LMS Provider that I can use to test the mp4 video files to ensure they stream properly. I have tested the stream names that point to the mp4 files using that tool and the video file stream just fine. When I launch the same course from our LMS using the content that was published in Captivate 6 as HTML5 to AICC specs, the course launches but the mp4 video files do not play. Keep in mind that they are set to stream and not download. I can advance thru the slides using a playbar, but the video will not play. Is anyone else having this kind of problem? Any ideas on where I can look?

I have tried Google Chrome ver. 26.0.1410.43 m. I have also tried in IE 9. It is my understanding that these are HTML5 compliant. Since posting this question, I saw some additional information in a different area of the Adobe Forums that suggests that it is not possible to stream MP4 Video from an Adobe Captivate 6 course that is published to HTML5. It was not real clear in the way it was stated, but it seemed to imply that you can embed MP4 video but you cannot stream MP4 video using RTMP from a Flash Streaming Server. I am now trying to get someone to confirm that statement from the Adobe Captivate 6 Team. I assume that the Captivate 6 Team monitors this forum.

Why won't u-tube videos play in safari?
I am using OS X 10.7.3
Safari 5.1.5

There wasn't an answer, just a question. If you can provide a little detail around what's actually happening, and more about the environment (e.g. what model computer, its configuration, etc) it'll help people provide a solution .

• Why doesn't Lightroom organise videos/photos lacking "date taken" by "date modified" instead of "date created"?

This still seems to be a problem with Lightroom 5. This post is one of the top results after trying to Google this problem, and it's for LR3. I can't understand why something so fundamental to video (and some photo) organisation has been overlooked for so long.
I've been trying to import and organise all my old photos and videos by date with LR5. They've been backed up and copied many times over the years, most recently to an external drive last week. So every file has a "date created" of last week. But "date modified" remains the original recorded date.
This doesn't matter for photos with a proper EXIF "date taken" - but LR5 looks at the "date created" for videos, making it completely useless for organising them into date-based folders. It puts videos I recorded in 2010 (as per "date modified") into a 2014-12 folder. Why.
It's not just a video problem - some photos I took with devices that didn't record EXIF "date taken" are also filed into folders from this month, even though the "date modified" on them is correct as being from 5 years ago.
How can I rely on LR5 for importing and date-based organisation when it relies on files (lacking "date taken") having never been copied or backed up?

Hello,
I use exiftool to modify the Creation and Modification time of the files. After that I use LR "Ajust time" feature to set the time of the movies in LR to the file creation time (last point). This works fine for me.
For MOV (Quicktime):
exiftool "-FileModifyDate<TrackCreateDate" "-FileCreateDate<TrackCreateDate"
For AVI:
exiftool "-FileModifyDate<DateTimeOriginal" "-FileCreateDate<DateTimeOriginal" *.avi
Depnding on your camera (and container format mov, avi) you may also ajust the time zone, e.g.
exiftool -FileModifyDate+=1 -FileCreateDate+=1 -if "$CameraModelName =~ /EOS 600D/i" *.mov
Which time in the container (MOV, AVI) you use as source, depends on your workflow. I edit my mov files before import. Therfore "CreateDate" is the time when I edited the file. Quicktime and (some) avi file contain a time when the containing stream was created. I use this vaule as source.
exiftool <filename> gives you detailed information about all available times.

• Why wont embedded youtube videos play on ipad

why wont embedded youtube videos play on ipad

Hi..
Try troubleshooting the Flash plugin which is required for most YouTube cotent as well as other sites.
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

• Why is my .H264 rendered video playing in IE with darker colours?

I have created a video using black text on a white background. When I use Media Encoder to export as a mp4 file, the finished video always plays in Internet Explorer with a grey (instead of white) background. My graphics card is ATI. My colleague tried it on his computer and it played with a white background as intended. His graphic card is NVIDIA.
Under 'Project settings' in After Effects, I set the working space colour settings to: sRGB IEC61966-2.1. I read that you cannot choose colour output in Media Encoder so I put a 'Color Profile Converter' effect to my layers with the output profile set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
After rendering out as a lossless avi and then using ME to create a mp4, the video plays back in IE with a grey background. Most confusing... and I am wondering what I am doing wrong as I found a mp4 video that plays with a white background here: http://media.w3.org/2010/05/video/movie_300.mp4
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Rick, I have turned off colour management and the video still plays with a noticeably grey background.
In the attached screenshot from Internet Explorer 11, my video is on the right, and the video I found is on the left.
In Firefox and Safari my video plays with a white background, it's just Internet Explorer that plays it with grey. Is it possible that it is Internet Explorer's problem and not my video render settings?

• Why do i not have video on my ipad any more?

I went to record a video today, my ipad has been update 2 x in the last month, my video is not working. How do I make it work thank you

Try a reset ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

• Importing MVI videos play on Ipad but not thru iTunes

I have used the import function to load photos/videos from a Canon G12 to view the results on the iPad. The videos are MVI format. All the files play fine on the iPad by going to the "All Imported" tab under photos. Including the videos! But if I try and load the same videos with no change in format going through iTunes either in the "Photos" tab or the "Movies" tab I get the file format error and they won't load.
So is the only way to load via iTunes is to convert the files to an MP4 format? Like HandBrake?
I guess I could continue to load them using the import photos path. I have been successful using a drive connected to the Apple adapter with the root file name DCIM.
Thanks

Maybe he means the copy protection has not been removed. But what would explain the video plays on the iPad?
Basically, the difference would how AirPlay (and how your TV) handles copy protected material.

• Videos play on iPad, but not on Apple TV

I can watch a video on my iPad, but when I use AirPlay to send it to my Apple TV and then to my TV, I just get the rotating circle on the TV screen.I should say that this does not happen with all videos, just a small number. Also, my AppleTV is hard wired to my home network.
Any suggestions?

• Why doesn't my embedded movie play when I export s a video?

I am trying to export my project in keynote 09. However, the embedded movie does not export and when the movie plays it gets stuck on that slide where the embedded movie is. I even tried opening the file with 08 ( I shouldn't have upgraded) and it can't be opened. Any advice?
Thanks!
OS 10.8.4

From my experience, most Windows users do not have QuickTime player installed on their machines.
The alternative is to provide PDF or PowerPoint, but the software for these are not installed by default, and of course Keynote is a Mac only application, so you are very limited in how they will easily view your presentation.
I always provide Windows Media Video files for PC users, this requires separate software to be purchased to convert Quicktime to WMV. Fip 4 Mac Studio
I have had on occaision to supply clients with JPEG image files as this was the only method they could view the presentation as they were prevented from installing additional software.
You will need to ask your users if they are prepared to install additional software and if they want video or a slide presentation.

• Why doesn't my MacBook Air play videos smoothly even through Apple TV 3rd gen and 8MBPS connection?

• Why doesn't a 3gp file play on ipad2?

Had a video from an iPhone sent to my email and when I open it I get audio only no video on both my Mac (os) & ipad2. Why no video?

3gp is a av container, not a codec.
It can contain different video codecs.
Apparently, the one used is not natively played by the iPad.
You can download an alternate player(I like avplayerhd) on the iPad and see if you can play it or download it to a computer and convert it.
I like handbrake for that.
