Why doesn't my iTunes library on my iMac retain Match?
I have noticed that my iMac iTunes account does not retain Match, so when I try to synch my iPhone or iPad music, the albums are not recognised. This computer is one of the selected Match machines, but when I go into store and select "Turn On iTunes Match." I get a message asking me to add this computer. Any ideas how I can get the computer to retain the settings?

I've bought a new PC and after setting up iTunes i began to copy my CD library back into my new iTunes library on my new computer.
But when I copy a CD now the only album information that copies is "track 1" "track 2" "track 3" etc. No song titles, no artist names, no album names. No album covers. All of this information was automatically copied from the same CDs on my old computer with a slightly older version of iTunes.
What's wrong? How can I fix this?Are you reimporting the CDs themselves or are you copying over the files from the old computer? I assume the latter.
If you are copying over the old files from the old computer, what format where they imported as? My guess is that you used AIFF or WAV files? If so, that is the problem. WAV and AIFF files can not store info like artist, track title, etc. like you can with MP3 and AAC files. Instead the iTunes database file (the .itl file on a Windows machine) keeps track of that stuff. If you move the WAV or AIFF files, that information is lost/disconnected.
Try this and see if it works. Pick all the tracks from an album and then use the Get Track Info command. Since they were originally imported by iTunes, it may work and fetch the proper information.

Hello all,
I've recently bought a replacement laptop, running Windows 7 & had my music library transferred from my old P.C successfully.
When I sync my ipod over 700 songs don't sync, but they're all available to play from the library.
At a glance it would appear the majority of these songs I've purchased from the itunes store at some point.
I'm advised that I will need to log in to the old itunes id to authorise this computer, but this is not possible as the email address has been deleted.
I contacted the bank from which the account was used to purchase these songs & the only debit card details they had on file were not the correct card.
So, where do I go from here? This is my music that I purchased legitimately from the itunes store & I want it all on my ipod which again, was legitimately purchased from Apple.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
HWM2You should have just switched the email address on your apple id to your new one, instead of creating an entirely new apple id.
But, go to appleid.apple.com and try to reset your password using the security questions method, instead.

Why doesn't my itunes recognize my ipod nano 6th gen anymore?
I recently purchased a lot of new songs and downloaded the newest version of itunes. Now when i plug my ipod (6th gen) into the USB to sync with itunes it shows that it is charging ("connected - eject before disconnecting") then it ejects itself and the whole time itunes never registers my ipod. So frustrating!! I've restarted my computer many times, i've uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes many times. I've tried holding the sleep/on/off button with the volume down button to restore it then i get a message from itunes saying that it can't restore my ipod because of an error..... What can I do??? Please Help!!!!

iTunes gets information about all CDs from a database called Gracenote (which has nothing to do with iTunes/Apple), but if no one has entered the information about that CD into Gracenote, that's why your iTunes cannot fill in the track names. If your iTunes cannot get any track information for any CD, then either your iTunes isn't connected to the internet, or your iTunes setting have changed. To check your iTunes settings, go into Edit/Preferences/General and look at the tick-box (check-box) named Automatically retrieve CD track names from the internet. Why doesn't my iPhoto library sync properly to my iPhone and iPad? I have already tried deleting the iPod photo cache. I sync the entire iPhoto library, which includes about 8,000 photos. The Events and Albums never match up, with many missing photos in most albums and events.
Thats is how I did it originally and tried it that way again but it never brings in my library. Now it gives me a response saying it doesn't have correct permissions. I'm the only user on the iMac. I did recently move the library from my old iMac iPhoto with no trouble.

Intermittent problems
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
Consistent Problems
A frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is the service being blocked on the network. Make sure your network isn't hidden, has a unique name, that MAC address authentication is disabled, security is set to use WPA 2 Personal and that there is only one router/device acting as a DHCP server and providing NAT services.

I have almost 10,000 songs/cuts in my music collection and, because of the poor quality of iTunes music, very few of those songs/cuts come from iTunes. My music came from me ripping it disc by disc over hundreds of hours. I would like to be able to add a disc and have both the iMac AND the MacBook music files (plus an external backup) be updated. Surely there is an intelligent, relatively easy to implement procedure for doing this. My spouse (who has now passed away) had an itouch with an itunes library on an IMac. here is the problem, I bought an new iphone 6 and wanted to sync with my windows xp library and of course my itunes version is out of date and I need to update it...well I try and update the version and it will not update the Itunes library and when I researched it I would have to upgrade from XP to Windows 7...r they kidding me...first of all my computer is old and a pain in the *** but I have my itunes library on it. Sp to get my phone working I sync'd it on the IMac and my spouses Itunes library has been sync'd to my iphone and I don't know how to get my library on it...After thinking about it I want to combine the libraries after all there are some purchases on each one.

How do I back up my itunes library from my iMac to iCloud?
I want to be able to access my iTunes library on my iMac from my iPhone while away from my home network. I don't want to fill my iPhone with the file as it is so big. Can I move my whole iTunes library to iCloud and then access it from both my iMac and my iPhone through the internet? If I do this, can I delete the library from my iMac as it is slowing it down because of its size?

When I click on the Music tab on my Apple TV 2, a message tells me I have to set up iTunes Match to stream music from my iTunes library on my iMac. I don't want to set up and pay for iTunes Match. How can I get back to the pre-Match system which let me just use home sharing to stream music from computer to Aple TV
Ditto.
You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.
