Why doesn't my macbook recognize printer driver for Epson T13X? I am using Mountain Lion 10.8.2

I just downloaded the driver for Epson T13x from Epson's website and after downloading the 22mb file and trying to install it, I get the error "dmg not recognized" or something like that.

Were you importing them into Aperture or IPHOTO - or were you using Sony Software?
I have A Kodak Easy Share - when I purchased a new mac - did not install the Kodak software - just switched to using IPHOTO to do the import.

Installing most recent print driver for Epson Pro 3800

I like to make sure that I use the most recent print driver for my Epson Pro 3800.
So I downloaded the driver "epson 328233 eu.dmg" and it shows up in "Finder downloads"
* I assume that this driver is the most recent one?
I have no idea how to continue to replace the existing driver and how to install the latest driver?
* Do I have to remove the present driver? If so: how do I find the old driver and how do I remove this driver?
* Thereafter in what way do I install the new driver?
I am far from a software specialist and I recently switched from PC to iMac which is still troubling me!

Can't install printer driver for Epson Workforce 845 on Lion

I can't seem install the printer driver for the Epson Workforce 845 on my MacBookPro running OS 7.2.
I installed the software from Epson but the printer installer can't find it.

I just finished installing an Epson Workforce 545 on Lion. This info is valid as of early March 2012. The trick seems to be this: DON'T install using the CD that comes with the printer. DON'T download the driver from Epson.
First do an Apple Software Update to make sure the machine is up-to-date. Then simply open the Printer & Scan preferences and add the Epson printer. It will download the driver directly from Apple and you will be good to go. If you do install the bad drivers from Epson, you have to remove the /Library/Printers/EPSON folder and also anything EPSON in the Cache folder, then start over.

The printer connects all right and doesn't show a problem whilst I am choosing the format I want my document/picture to be printed but after I click Print, a little icon representing the printer pops up in the bottom but after a second or two, it disapppears leaving me with no printouts. Printer driver for Epson printer not found

I have an Epson Stylus Color 860 printer. Epson apparently does not support this printer anymore, at least with Lion. I downloaded a driver from Gutenprint that seemed to do the trick. The only "problem" is that I get this message in the Printer Utility whenever I print.
Is there anything I can do about this? Or should I just leave well enough alone? Like I said. The printer seems to print just fine from both OS X 10.7.1 and 10.6.8.

It sounds like you may have a preference file left over from the Epson Stylus Color 860 printer.
1) Have you followed the directory path, /Library/Printers/Epson/CIOSupport, to see if the plug-in exists.
2) Check for a preference file named for the printer in /Library/Preferences
3) Check for a preference file named for the printer in ~/Library/Preferences
4) Check for an Epson print driver named for the printer in ~/Library/Printers
If you find items in those locations from Epson for the Stylus Color 860 printer, move them to the Trash or a folder on the Desktop. See if the message goes away.
Be careful not to Trash any files related to the Gutenprint driver.

Printer Driver for Epson Stylus R800 Printer Included with OS X 5 Leopard

How many faulty drivers may there be included with OS X 5 Leopard?
After installing OS X 5 Leopard I found that when using my Epson Stylus PHOTO R800 printer photograph prints and ordinary lettering were extremely feint and unusable.
From the list of printers installed with OS X 5, as given in Apple "K"base Documents, I checked the version number of the driver for the Stylus Photo R800 and it was given as "SPR800 3.09 app"
I next checked the latest driver specified by Epson on their website---it too was given as
"SPR800 3.09 app".
Despite this information I downloaded the "SPR800 3.09 app" from Epson and installed it and the problem was solved.
I am writing this to inform others that despite the driver included with OS X 5 being specified as
"SPR800 3.09 3.09" it certainly is not!!!
The only answer is to use the latest version provided on the Epson website.

Although I've been on Macs for around 25 years I hadn't come across something as blatant as this before---maybe I've been lucky!
Your comment regarding the avoidance of software included with the product is very relevant particularly at the present time, so soon after the release of OS X 5 Leopard. There must be thousands of printers and the like which are being sold right now with software applicable to OS X 4 Tiger included with them.

CD printer driver for Epson Stylus Photo R265

Just bought an Intel iMac 20" together with a Epson Stylus photo R265. It should print CD's and DVD's but, every time I try to print these, it tells me that the CD printer driver has not been installed.
After reinstalling the drivers from the cd which came together with the printer it still didn't print CD's. Also installing the drivers from the Epson website didn't do the job.
After discussing this problem with people from the Epson helpdesk, they answered that the CD printing feature only works on powermacs and that Rosetta should do the trick on Intel based Macs. Knowing that Rosetta operates automatically in OS 10.4.8, this answer was unsatisfying.
I now consider to buy a Canon printer but I am not sure if these printers (cd printer drivers) have the same problem with Intel based Macs.
Does anyone know a proper solution?

Snow Leopard Updated Epson Printer Driver for Epson R800 - poor colour !

I just installed through software update the latest epson printer drivers and, then, deleted the Epson R800 from my printer list and added it back in (with the new printer driver). I did find a slightly different printer dialog box and found the setting of "presets" worked now (it did not previously).
However, when I printed out of Adobe Lightroom 2.6, using a custom paper profile and no colour management, that the print was faded, the colours were washed out. The result was unacceptable. After a few attempts, I looked in the Library folder, printers, epson and found two folders labeled, "inkjet printer" and "inkjet printer2". I determined that "inkjetprinter2" was the new folder and deleted it and deleted/added in my Epson r800 (using "inkjetprinter" folder. The resulting print was perfect.
So, my conclusion is that the new driver is not functioning as it should and I would warn users to be prepared for problems. Am I missing something here? Could I have done the updating of the printer driver and printer differently?

You may need to recalibrate you monitor color settings.
One of the things that changed from 10.5 to 10.6 was gamma; if you are using calibration from 10.5 or earlier, the gamma change will throw off print colors.
Personally, on my last 2 epson printers (R300, RX685), I've configured to let the printer color manage, and used the Vivid setting.
Have not had any off colors, etc.

The Deskjet 1220 driver was written by HP and is supplied through Windows Update. AFAIK it has been available since Windows 8 was originally released.

Hard drive wont work on leopard after using mountain lion

My current imac at home runs on 10.5.8 which i think is Leopard.
I have been using an external hard drive for over a year with my mac. A few days ago i decided to use my hard drive on my work imac which runs on the new Mountain Lion operating system.
I have since then tried using my external hard drive on my own imac and it does not appear on my desktop or in finder.
I have used disk utility to try repair and mount but neither worked.
My brother has a macbook pro running on snow leopard, i tried plugging it into his which appeared with the following message;
To use this disk, connect it to a Mac with Mac OSX v10.7 or later installed.
Can anyone help with this issue?

Could be. I've never encrypted a disk, so don't know if that's affecting things. Try unencrypting it, copying the data elsewhere, erasing & reformatting, and restoring the data.
I have been wanting to upgrade to mountain lion for a while but unforunately i cannot download the app store to do so. If there was any way of upgrading i think that might solve the problem.
Don't know if upgrading will solve the problem, but suspect not. Do note that you have to upgrade to Snow Leopard before Lion/ML.

Why doesn't my Macbook Pro disk drive work?

I used to have an old white MacBook and that disk drive didn't work as well as some other problems... the people in the Apple Store couldn't fix it and so gave me a free upgrade to a MacBook pro (great, right?!).
Everything on it works perfectly except for the fact... that the disk drive doesn't work, just like on my old one.
When I go to put a CD/DVD in (I've tried many incase it's the actual disk) nothing happens whatsoever. Nothing pulls the disk in, and there is no icon on my desktop/Finder to let me know it's recognised. If you push it all the way in it gets stuck and there is no way to eject it... It's as if there isn't a drive at all?
It doesn't make much sense because my MacBook Pro is brand new.
Taking it back to the shop causes a lot of hassle and usually when I get it back again, something else is broken.
Maybe I'm just cursed...
Any advice on how to get it working? I've tried the trouble shooting, it doesn't help.

Hi, I have tried those things, bit nervous to try the Power Manager reset - apparently it can cause changes to your data?
I tried the SMC and no different.
I'm a bit anxious about bringing it in for service again, because with my old MacBook we had to go to London and back five times, and each time we collected it the people had fixed the initial problem, but broken something else in the process. I was without a computer for almost a month!!
Right now I'm in my final year of studies and need my computer constantly. Can't afford to survive without it whilst it's fixed.
Is there definitely no other option?

I am trying to load Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my Macbook but it is not compatible. Why? When I purchased it there was

No. it is my sister in law's Macbook. I installed OSX 10.6.3, then updated software but when completed it shut down and I have not been able to restart. i have reset the pram but that's about it. I will get the install disc and try that next. Thanks. BTW .. when I try to restart it goes thru the motions, gets to a blue screen but before the desk top sets up ... it goes to black with the curser in the upper left corner ... and frozen.
