Why doesn't my page document open suddenly?

First, please understand me. I am Korean..(in South Korea that is also a nationality of Yuna Kim)
So, I am not used to speak in english very well: especially, Writing.......
Please help! I have had some problem!!
I suddenly cannot open my document in pages5.1(update version)...Ofcourse, I have done my job in pages5.1, and other documents can also be opened.
when I try to open the document, an emerging message shows that just "it cannot be opened" in Korean language.
(the document contains many contents.....many works.....)
Anyway, I want to know how to open the document in pages program or other program !
In particular, I don't understand this situation because its all pakage files are survived...
Please help me....

I have this problem as well with 2 files after I upgraded to iOS7. Most of my documents will open (although VERY SLOW and a lag so long I can go make myself some popcorn) but there are 2 documents that for some reason are black icons that will NOT open.
I have restarted the iPad, synced it again, added a saved version of the doc from my desktop, e-mailed myself the document to open, but still- pages will NOT open this document.
Luckily I had a print out and could retype the file, but how can this be considered a reliable USABLE app for professionals if it arbitrarily decides not to open certain documents?
I've decided not to do ANY serious work on the iPad until there is a fix. And there's always Microsoft Office for iOS which released to day, much as I hate MS.

Why won't my pages documents open?

So recently I tried to open up pages. If I click on the icon on the bottom, it won't work. It also has a weird black ring around the top. When I try to open up any other pages documents through Finder I get a message saying "the document "____" could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format."
How do I fix this??? Help please!!!!!

If you bought it on disk then it was installed inside the iWork folder inside the Applications folder. If it is no longer there and Pages documents no longer open then you have apparently managed to trash it.
Reinstall from the DVD is probably the fastest way to get it all back working, make sure you update iWork after the install, the DVD version will not be the latest.
It sounds also like you need to learn more about using your Mac. There are classes at the AppleStore and also tutorials in the general Support section of Apple's website, the one you see before you get into these communities.

Why doesn't each 'page's info' adhere to the settings for the plug-ins?

When I check my plugins, add ons, for updates, there are option blocks on the right that set whether or not to "Always Activate" or "Always Ask". My question is- -for every page that opens, there is a "page info" option we can check to see/check what is allowed or blocked under Permissions ... And* what the Permission 'settings' ARE for That* page. Why doesn't EVERY page display the Permissions' settings that we have Already set on the Plugins screen*(?). EVERY page has to have the permissions re-done for EVERY domain/server/site provider. Why* aren't the settings that are set on the Plugins screen Used* AS the 'Default' for every page/domain/site, etc.? Note*- if I DON'T change the permissions to "allow", for certain plugins, the page will not work*.
Also, the "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.450.18 10.45.2.18" still* shows as "Vulnerable" After* updating (verified update*). So I found the option to 'Disable' this particular plugin. Now it displays at the bottom of the Plugin page, greyed out. However*... after updating to Java "SE7 U45" (..for 1 [One*] day ONLY, it showed as Up-to-Date, NOT vulnerable, on every 'page info' screen*) ... and Actually, it Still Does show as Up-To-Date after an Update check*..(??)... But on EVERY page info screen the "Java(TM) Platform SE7 U--Vulnerable Plugin!" is displayed (?). How can it be Up-To-Date and OK on the plugin check screen, but show as a "Vulnerable Plugin" on EVERY 'Page Info' screen?

... But I'll try to answer some of your questions ...
1- usually, "yes"* just make sure you Trust that site (if you have anti-virus, anti-malware, etc, and run a scan every week (or so) and Haven't come up with anything quarantined or removed yet, you''re probably safe there*
2- sorry, "yes", there's Always a real danger... that's why we have the anti-everything we have (right?)
3- depends on the site*. A Lot of sites don't need java at all (except to run their ads or commercials... 'targeted' or not). Adobe Flash or Shockwave should be able to handle stuff like youtube, etc (but if it doesn't*, just go into the 'Page Info' Permissions* and Allow the [Vulnerable] Java and see if that fixes it). It more than likely will.
I think it's just a matter of Time* before Adobe* Flash, and practically Every other video app/player may be marked as "vulnerable"... like Java... because every one of them CAN carry a virus or trojan to us in some imbedded format. If JAVA couldn't find a way to stop them* (hackers, etc*) they either ..1-aren't smart enough, or 2-just gave up trying to stay ahead of them... (like the 'ad' says, some-unGodly-percentage-of-machines use Java already ... so They are making Their money*... what more do they need to do, really..?). They don't care* about us or our stuff, as long as we Buy More.... but I'm a bit jaded*.

You may have to compare user permissions and privileges in documents to see if there is a presence of odd permissions in the Get Info box available by single-clicking a document's ICON and see this area in each.
How was the application installed? Are you running an Admin account? Have you repaired disk permissions in Disk Utility, or any other routine steps to see what happens next?
There may even be a Console log of events that happen when you open and launch a document stream involving this Word phenomena, in Console utility, on or about the time these events occur. The logs can be amazingly complex, and vary in helpfulness. I use some of them to see what happens and when, or if there is a crash, some can point to hardware vs software sources of problems. Some resident experts in ASC are fairly good at knowing what they mean or how to decipher the system logs from there.
Not sure of the exact cause...

Why doesn't the original document I'm dragging and dropping from one folder to another move?
What's happening is the computer is creating a duplicte of the document and placing it in the new location with a new creation date. The original document I wanted to drag and drop into a new location remains where it started as the "original" document and the new copy has this little arrow protruding up from the lower left of its icon.
At first I thought it was an alias, but it's a copy of the document I thought I was dragging and dropping.
What gives here?

That arrow indicates it is a linik to the original, though. This happens if you wish to drag files, for which you do not have permissions to do this operation, e.g. from Library or System folder. I am pretty sure you do not accomplish this operation from/to folders like Desktop or Documents; if so, there is a problem with your system.

I heard back from Nike+ support and they said that there will be newer pics soon and it also appears that this corrected itself for my runs, but not the user pic, I only get girly options, I wouldn't mind a picture of a guy on 'ROIDS!!! Pages document opened as a PDF on the web shows old name; why?

I created a pages document with a file name "Seifert Waldren" last year. Then this year I used that same document, either as a duplicate or version and saved it with a new name Seifert Thum. Then I've put this in my web page and when I use Firefox to open the document the new tab show Seifert Waldren; but in Safari it shows Seifert Thum! I just went back to see info of the PDF and see the original title says Seifert Waldren copy. Is there a way I can discover this befor adding it to my web page? Or is this a trial and error situation?

When you use whatever you use to upload your files to your websites, check that both files don't exist in the site's directory.
Get Info shouldn't be necessary to check a file name in your directory, unless in this case there is a contradiction between what it show in Finder and any internal naming, which I have never heard of before.
Use Disk Utility to Verify/Repair your Mac hard drive, in case there is some directory damage, then reupload the file to your site.

Why are my iCloud Pages documents showing as "zero bytes" in Pages on my MacBookPro?

Many of my Pages documents that are stored in iCloud can not be opened in Pages on my MacBookPro. They show "zero bytes". Is there something I can do to have them showing their full size and be accessible from Pages on my MacBookPro?

I realize it's probably an imponderable question and I could do the dragging thing from iWork in iCloud to iWork.com Beta and vice versa. It doesn't really seem right, or even Apple-like, that Numbers on my iPad saves to the ICloud iWork and Numbers on my iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro saves their documents to iWork.com. Why the heck aren't they saved to the same iWork? This should work more smoothly if they want people to use the iOS device to it's fullest extent.
So, there's no way around it. At some point I'll have to pick one of the iWorks to work on the documents from. I guess it would have to be the iCloud iWork since the iOS Numbers can't get to the iWork.com iWork? And I'll have to save the Numbers docs on the Macs and then drag them to the iCloud iWork? Brilliant! Same for Pages?

I purchased MS Office for Mac and stupidly deleted Pages from my Macbook. I don't have the Mac OS installation disk, and was wondering if there is a utility to open a Pages document?

Basically, none. You can either unzip it or reveal its package contents and then pick out pieces of the document, but this won't preserve formatting.

Why is a 4MB Pages document converting into a 20.7MB epub file? How can I reduce the size?

I'm using Pages 4.3 to create epub files. It converted a 112-page, 4 MB Pages document to a 20.7 MB epub file. Yet when I converted the Pages document to a mobi file (for Amazon ebooks), it's only 3.6 MB. Obviously I can't use a 20.7 MB file. Why is it doing this and what can I do about it?

Please take note that FLV is not much better than regular
video. In fact it's
larger and lousier quality. So you could import MOV to flash
and keep it as SWF.
This would keep the file smaller a bit. Than you can always
load these files
in run time, swf and flv. Making main movie small and just
stream the content when
needed.

Why doesn't my Photoshop CS6 open a new document?

My new photoshop CS6 will not open a new document, nor will it open a photograph. I re-installed the program but that did not help. I reset the preferences but that didn't help either. Any ideas?

I found the fix. First of all, my Photoshop CS2 would open OK, but when I
wanted to make a new document, chose the size and clicked OK, nothing
happened. Then I would try and open a picture. I would go to File/Open, go
to my folder, click on a picture to open, and nothing would happen. Another
problem I had was with In-Design. When working on a page, I would make a
text box and insert text, but I could not move that text box. I could drag
the handles and reposition it that way, but I could not move the box to
place it where I wanted it easily. Also I could not move picture boxes. I
found a fix: Hit the ESC (escape key). That fixed everything in Photoshop
and In-Design. So unless there's way I can permanently fix this problem,
when it does it again I'll simply hit the esc key. Please let me know if
there is a permanent fix for this. Is it a problem with the brand new
computer I bought last week?

Why won't my pages 08 open on my upgrade to pages on new Macbook fall 2013

Apple made all my old documents unusable with an upgrade to the free pages(2013). I bought a new computer because the old computer could not upgrad the old software. Apple says transfer to pages 09 first. My old computer was a first generation Macbook core duo, and I don't believe it supported iwork 09. So, I am stuck in upgrade ****. I cant upgrade to iworks 09. I cannot download the old software to make my free upgrade work. Does this mean I have to find a difficulty way to salvage all my hundreds of documents made over many years of being a Pages loyalist. I am very disappointed with this lack of attention to detail and zero warning about problems with the upgrade. Hopefully Apple makes things "just work" for loyal Apple customers, so they can be "delighted" with their Apple products. Do I sound bitter. I have never had a major issue since OS7. That is a long time ago.

The update is available for those using iWork '09. Even if it were possible to update iWork '08 to the new versions, you would have many, many problems. The new versions cannot open any iWork '08 or earlier documents or templates. You will get an error saying to open the files in iWork '09 then open them in the new version. I suggest that you buy a retail copy of iWork '09 from a third party such as Amazon or eBay & then update to the new iWork apps in the Mac App Store. You might check this link for the iWork '09 trial. I have no idea if it is still available.
iWork '09 will run on your MacBook. I have it on a G4 iMac running Tiger. You can see the tech specs for all versions of iWork on this page.

Why doesn't the file stay open in the Organizer?

In all my years of using Photoshop Elements, I've never used the Organizer. I just created files in My Pictures and put them there. After downloading the latest version of Photoshop Elements, I thought I'd give it a try. First I was told I had so many files that I needed to back them up, but then it turns out I have many files which are "missing" and they need to be reconnected.
But skipping over the messy next hour, I found that after I had created one album and then went to scan for the pictures to put into it, not all the pictures that should have been there will visible in the media bin. Instead, I saw images with a torn icon and ones with a question mark in them. I opened one with the torn icon and found it was one of the missing ones that should have gone in the new album. It is a TIFF file. Does the organizer not recognize TIFF files.
Then when I click on the album to open it, it wouldn't open. Finally, when it did open, it was open for a only a few seconds, and then then all the media files came back.
My third question is why can't I create an album and then import pictures into it from another file on my desktop?

Yes, EO does support tiff files.
For the files that are missing, do refer http://psekb.blogspot.in/2013/03/how-do-i-reconnect-missing-files-in.html
For the files that have corrupt thumbnail, delete them and try to import them again in EO.
And to answer your third query, follow these steps:
     1. You can create a new empty album in EO by clicking on "+" widget adjacent to the "Local Albums".
     2. Import photos in EO.
     3. Select them and right-click on the desired album and then select "Add selected Media to Album".

Same action as control enter (windows desktop); should open link in new tab. Works most, but not all of the time. What might be the reason for that?
Using version 31; I only started seeing this behavior recently.

It might be that the link in question looks like a link,
but was not flagged as a link.
Next time, try this; In Firefox, Highlight the bad link, right click,
and select '''open new tab / window.'''
If this does not help, post the web address of that page, and
tell use what does not work. Give directions.
