Sometimes my iPhone 4S will add photos to my photo stream where I can access them on my iPad but not always. Why is that?

Your iPhone needs to be in WiFi (not cellular) coverage to add the photos.

To be clear, you can see the image from your file system but cannot access it from code?
I'd like to know what could be my bug because I don't understand why I can access from the URL,

I'm not knowledgeable with chmod under Linux, let's say if we give it full accessibility, what will be the result?
Anyway if you can see the image from file system, that already means the upload is succeed, I think you may need get some suggestion from php side to see how can we save the image with a correct permission.

This is where I am used to manually adding photos nd mucic from my libraries and other manual functions I perform. I ltried to log into icloud and was told that my normal apple id passpwrd does not work. I then went to settings on the phone and only found one thing, a choice to baxk my phone up to icloud. I want to manually back up and add/replace music and photos as well as addredd book and especially calanders. Please help. I am a one on one memmber but I started a progression of lessons with the new OS. I cloud comes next so I feel like I am behind in my abilities. Please help

Car manufacturers are now building complex car kits into their vehicles.
The companies include:
Ford, Audi, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Vauxhall/Opel, Volkswagen, Mercedes, and other high end specification cars.
One of the functions, is that it pulls the phone book data from the phone via bluetooth.
Background Information
A lot of the Nokia E and N series, Symbian S60 handsets, do not carry the required bluetooth profile in their bluetooth stack.
The phone is missing the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) that allows the car to pull data from the phone.
Why the phones do not carry the profile is unknown. What is known is that using the Nokia 810 car kit downloader software, you can partly restore some of this functionality.
Additionally the Nokia 616 Car Kit Downloader will also function, along with the Ford Connectivity Downloader.
Workaround

You'll need to delete the existing pairing in the handset and the car, then install and run the application, don't just install the application and expect it to work, you must re-pair the handset and the car.
When it is installed start the application, and then re-pair the phone to the radio, this may then copy your contacts into the radio, be paitent, as it can take a few minutes to copy and setup.
It may copy the phone book over, but the Missed Dialled and Received calls may not work.
I have tested this with an Audi S3, A4, and A6 on a Nokia N82 and N95.
The Nokia E71, appears to have the profile and functions correctly with an Audi car kit, in Handsfree Profile mode.
The Nokia E71, when connected in SIM access profile mode is the same as the other E and N series handsets are requires the 810 or 616 downloader to be installed in the handset.
Installing the 810/616 downloader only restores phone book functionality, there are some software combinations on car and phones that work without the downloader.
It may also be possible for your car manufacturers franchised dealer to be able to update the software in your car so that additional features are available, they may charge for this service. Also updating software in the phone may also help, as Nokia may see fit to add the profile if they are able.
For some cars and handsets, when you are connecting with the SIM Access Profile function, you will still need to install the 616/810 downloader application as detailed above, as the phone normally switches off most of its functionality. The phone book will then normally function when you have installed the application.
The workaround only resolves the problem with the phone book. Problems such as random disconnecting which also is reported, are beyond the scope of this article.

I have noticed recently that random disconnecting can be caused if you have an Internet Telephony Service running in your handset. Also if you have the WLAN discovery setting enabled then this can cause the same problem - whilst I am not attempting to try and resolve random disconnects, it could be a reason for why this is happening.
I have recently installed a VoIP service in my handset and 100 mtrs from my home when the handset disconnects from this service at my house, the Bluetooth disconnects from the Car Kit, in my E71.

Audi also make a Bluetooth Sim Access Profile adapter for their Generation II and Generation III (Low) mobile telephone interface. (Audi Part No: 8P0051440) The SIM access service will require the 810 phone kit downloader application. With this on my kit I am getting disconnections with Bluetooth. To prevent this, I switch Bluetooth off and then on again prior to connecting to the kit, this resolves the disconnecting.

Further to the Audi edit above, I now have an Audi S4 2009 with the Audi Mobile Phone Preparation (high) for this to function correctly with phone book access the 810 Downloader needs to be installed, and running when the phone connects to the car every time it connects. Otherwise the phone book access does not operate.

Why doesn't my phone ring when I've got screen lock activated?

This has been driving me crazy and I need to know how to fix it.
I like to have the screen lock activated on my phone (otherwise it will be in my purse calling people without me even touching it) but when I get an incoming call my phone doesn't ring, it will only vibrate so I'm missing alot of calls because I'm not always near my phone to hear it vibrate.
Also, there's nothing to alert me (a sound played every few minutes) when I missed a call or text & its causing problems for me.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the phone ringing but we certainly want to make sure that is addressed. When your phone is not in screen lock does it ring as normal? You may want to check your sound settings to see if you have it set to vibrate in silent. Also if that mode is set you want to make sure the switch above your volume buttons is set up, otherwise the phone will not ring while in screen lock mode. Keep us updated and I am sure we will get this figured out.

Why doesn't iPhoto 08 back up photo book?

When I go to Share>Burn to burn a folder that has an album, slideshow, and photo book, the photo book does not get backed up. In previous iPhoto 06 version, it was possible to burn the photo book.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Why Doesn't Photoshop's Opacity Add Up?

I've always wondered this but now it's beginning to bug me as I'm experimenting with layer stacking to reduce/modify noise.
If I have 2 layers at 50% opacity and a white layer underneath, those combined layers should equal 100% opacity and so I should not be able to see anything below the lower layer.
Instead what I find is that you have to stack over 15 layers at 50% before they even start to appear opaque (and at 15 they still aren't).
What's the math going on behind here? I would have assumed that, with an 8-bit image, you have 256 levels of transparency so at 50% you've got both layers at 128; 128-128 = 0 or no transparency so why does photoshop still allow something to be visible underneath that? While we're at it, why does 100% look fully opaque but 99% looks dramatically different without a layer underneath? Maybe the math is adding up but 50% opacity is actually more like 5% opaque?
Is there a blending mode I can use that will similate the build up of opacity more accurately? I'm really annoyed with the fact I can't really predict how layers are going to interact based on their opacity; I wish I at least understood the science behind it so I could alter my process to produce the results I want.

You were correct. If one layer is 100% opaque and the others are less opaque, then the 100% layer will have more influence than other layers. You're not going to calculate a mean image that way.
I've scored through that because I misunderstood what was meant. I guess it will give a mean of the layers if each layer has an opacity percentage of 100/n, where n is its position in the stack, with 1 being at the bottom.

With a standard version of Ps, floating point 32-bit mode can be used to calculate a mean image by summing your images and dividing by the number of images. Gamma adjustments in the process are required if your source images do not have a linear colour profile because Ps will convert them to linear on opening into a 32-bit document. Let me know if you want help with that.

Why doesn't Lightroom 5 always watermark exported images?

I haven't changed the settings, but last time I tried to export images with a watermark the images appeared in the output folder without watermarks.
The problem has occured before, but corrected itself when I re-exported the images. This time Lightroom is steadfastly ignoring the instruction to add a watermark.
Any clues, why this happens?
Some of my jpegs are zero length when exported, is there a fix for this, other than to export them again?
I can fix the problem by using LR4.4, but why isn't LR5 working properly?

Why doesn't a normal sync add music to my iPod?

I found my lost iPod which still had music on it that played just fine. I synced it to my computer to add more music but instead the old stuff, except for two odd songs, disappeared and no new music copied. I've synced it a dozen times. It always seems to sync fine but I still can't get any music copied from my computer to my iPod. I have no trouble copying music to my iPad, so I'm assuming the problem is in the iPod and not the computer. Can anyone help me sort this out?

Why doesn't command-click always open links new tabs?

Right-clicking on links and selecting "Open link in new tab" always works as described, but command-clicking on links only sometimes opens them in new tabs. I am guessing that it is Javascript related, but why can the contextual menu work, and not the click?

By default, Firefox will divert standard new windows to a tab, but if the link actually is a script that launches a window with special parameters, like a dialog, then Firefox will honor that. There is an obscure setting to disregard those parameters and force all scripted windows into a new tab as well.

Since downloading the iOS 7 update,I have not received notifications (vibration or sound) of any kind when my phone is in the sleep mode or the locked screen mode. Even though you discover that the Do not Disturb mode was activated. You should check out the new settings for vibration. In ios7 you have the ability to disable vibration when you have the ringer switch to "silent", orange bar showing. Basically making it in Do Not Disturb, but you'll still see the notifications on the screen.
You could enable or disable vibration phone wide for both ringer on or silent on.

Why doesn't stop button always stop my VI?

We are using the default "Continuous Acquisition to Spreadsheet" VI that came with Labview. Our application is recording 32 temperature readings to a text file, and displaying them simultaneously to the monitor. The scan rate is one per minute, the buffer size is 1 and the number of scans to write at a time is 1. When the stop button is hit, sometimes the VI stops soon (after the next write?), sometimes it doesn't and the stop button needs to be hit repeatedly to get the VI to stop. I'm not sure what is happening. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I have a feeling that this has to do with your data acquisition being so slow.
If you are only doing one scan per minute, I suggest you do use the AI Sample Channels VI, rather than a continuous acquisition.
The reason is, in the VI you are using, LabVIEW ties up the processor when the AI Read VI is called, and it is waiting for the data to be available in the buffer. Since you are scanning at 1 scan per minute, it will have to wait a minute until the data is ready, and it will take control of all the CPU time in the process.
Depending on when in the cycle you pressed the stop button determines how long you'd have to wait until the AI Read comes back with the data, and allows the CPU to process the stop button.
Using the AI Sample Channels VI with
a 1 minute delay will accomplish the same task, but it won't tie up the CPU like it is currently.
