Why Doesn't Startup Manager Appear?

hello all,
i have created a clone of my power mac g4's "Macintosh HD" drive (with os 9.2.2 only) onto a single -volume/unpartitioned external firewire drive. i have been able to successfully boot into os 9.2.2 from the clone by setting the external fw hdd as the startup disk in the "Startup Disk" control panel and restarting.
my question is, how come "Startup Manager" does not work for me even though i do exactly what is instructed in this apple support article
the first time i set the startup disk to the ext fw hdd , i just restarted like normal (without holding down the option jey). the cloned os booted perfectly fine from the ext fw hdd as i configured it to.
then i tried to see if i could select a startup disk using startup manager (restarted; holding option key). all i got when i held down the option key was a flashing floppy disk icon with a question mark on it. after a few seconds of the flashing floppy disk, the machine booted up into os 9.2.2 from the original "Macintosh HD" drive (even though i had configured the ext fw hdd as the startup disk).
then i tried it again by shutting down the machine then turning it on again while holding the option key. this time, as i held the option key, the smiling mac appeared (ignoring the fact that i was holding down the option key) and booted up like normal using the clone on the ext fw hdd that i configured in the control panel.
what am i doing wrong? according to the article, my power mac g4 (agp graphics) with os 9.2.2 is expected to have a working startup manager. thanks in advance for your help.

Some third party keyboards don't bring up the Startup Manager when holding down the option key. Thought it was worth a shot, anyway.

Hi Guys:
     I just bought an apple tv. I am able to use the mirroring function with no problem, and I can see the apple tv in the "Airplay" menu.
     But When i play a video in safari(mirroring turned off), I can not see my apple TV in the "AirPlay" menu.
      So my question is : why doesn't apple tv appear when playing video in safari?
Does the same thing happen to you guys??
btw, I just dont want to mirroring when play a video in safari, that's why i'm asking this question

Experiencing the same issue. Everything used to just work. I'm up to date on *everything* and it's all apple devices (airport extreme, appletv, 2 macbook pro lion, iphone4s, ipad).
My gut says it's the AppleTV since it happens from both laptops that have itunes.
Let me know if you find a fix.

Why doesn't Photoshop CS6 Appear in the CC Desktop App manager?

Missing CS6 Apps in application manager. Adobe, the app manager has been nothing but problems. Apps never used to dissapear from DVDs or CDs.
My MacBook Pro is capable of running all CC and CS6 apps.
So I downloaded photoshop cs6 from creative.adobe.com. When I went to install it said it could't verify my subscription.

This works as designed. Current versions of the CC app only show the actual CC versions. For the rest refer to this:

Why doesn't Time Capsule appear in Disk Utility anymore?

Time Machine gave me a msg that it was unable to back up yesterday due to a problem with an image on my iMac (21.5") drive. It said to repair the external drive I'm using with Disk Utility. I tried the Time Capsule I'm using and which is hooked up and has worked fine for months does not appear. Why?
Also got a msg today saying: "backup cannot be complete due to unexpected error. Code -6584" Never had such a problem before Mt. Lion.
I see no forum category for Time Machine or Time Capsule.

You need to verify the backup.
Hold the option key while clicking the Time Machine icon on the top right menu area.
But reboot the TC beforehand.. maybe the whole network.

Why doesn't whole website appear?

I have a feeling that it has something to do with the footer's positioning. Basically, I can't get the containers to extend to the bottom unless I put height at 100% for bother containers. If I replace height with min-height it does extend, but the container content doesn't appear unless I change the zoom. In other words I can't get both. I want the content to show and for the container to extend to the bottom even if I zoom to the smallest resolution. Below are the examples of both situations. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried reducing your content so you could see that type of effect on your page? As it sits now, your content is far too long to do what that page shows, even if it was an exact duplicate. That center content area only expands until the content reaches the veiwport height, it then pushes the footer off the screen just as yours does.
Are you looking to have the footer bar always appear on the bottom while the rest of the page scrolls behind it?
If that's the case, change your footer css from...

Why doesn't Lady Gaga appear in my artists' list?

I have several Lady Gaga songs on my iPod Touch. After the iOS 5.0 update wiped my iPod clean, I reinstalled all of them. Now, however, even though the songs play and I can find them on other lists, Lady Gaga's name DOES NOT APPEAR in the Artists' List. It seems like every other artist shows up, but she's missing. Anyone have any idea why this is? Is there a fix? Why should this be?

I'm using the following:
Mac OS X - Version 10.6.8
Adobe InDesign CC - Version 9.2.2
Adobe Extension Manager CC - Version 7.3.2.39
When I try to use my Extension Manager, it's not recognizing my Adobe InDesign CC application.
When I try to install a .zxp file, I get this error: Please make sure the manifest.xml of this extension is valid and the Extension Manager recognizes at least one product which the extension supports.

Run the cleaner tool and start from scratch. This is probably some version conflict in the installer database

I have come to loathe itunes7. Why doesn't my ipod appear in the playlists?

I've been using iTunes since version 1, but I'm about ready to dump it.
Ever since I upgraded to iTunes 7 I've been having constant problems. On my windows machine, the play count doesn't increment. On my Powerbook, I keep getting "iPod cannot be updated. required disk cannot be found" - often 15 or 20 times in a single update session. The visualizer and equalizer buttons are gone and, worst, the eye of sauron is missing, which means I have to re-learn how to burn disks and refresh podcasts.
Now, I've just noticed that when I unplug my iPod, it disappears from my playlists - and the preference setting for making stay there seems to be gone.
What is apple thinking?

Well, I updated. Then when I started up iTunes, the program froze and I had to force quit (force quit said "Not Responding). Then it said that iTunes noticed my purchased files were not on my computer and did I want the put there...I said no and it tried to do it anyway and froze thrice more. Then when I went to the iTunes store, it said my info had change, even though it hadn't and that I needed to update...so I did. Now ALL my stuff is gone...except what I bought from iTunes store...it completely hosed all my other stuff...man wth? I updated my software to 10.4.8 and my HD crashed...updated to iTunes 7 and pod crashes...what? did you guys get a buncha slobs from Microsoft to come work for you? I've been a Apple snob for sometime, but holy crap! I feel like I did when I owned a Dell!

Why doesn't time capsule appear in airport utility?

I have the 3TB time capsule just bought last year. It has been working perfectly fine for all of this time when suddenly my internet connection was slowed to a snails pace. I reset the modem, the time capsule, etc. and nothing worked. I called comcast and the guy says the modem is out of sync and he reset it and everything was perfect. Later that day, it slowed again. When I called Comcast he said everything is good from the cable side it must be the router (in this case the time capsule). I opened the airport utility and I was connected to wifi but the time capsule doesnt appear. It says it cant find any base stations.
I googled the web and tried many things including hard reset, updating IPv6 to link-local only, etc. When I am connected hard wire to the modem it works fine but as soon as i disconnect and go wireless it no longer can find the base station. The wireless network and speed work fine I just cant connect to the base station for time machine backups, access my drive etc.
HELP!

Do a full factory reset.. this is different to hard reset and is recommended when you run into issues.
Mountain Lion does have a bug with the TC in lossing it. The latest firmware was supposed to fix the problem but I doubt it is working.. ie 7.6.4 ..
I would do the following.
1. Take the firmware back to 7.6.1
You simply hold the option key whilst clicking the number of the version in the airport utility. Select the firmware you want.. and it will do the downgrade.
2. Factory reset.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
3. Redo the setup with a completely clean set of names.. which are SMB standard.. ie short, 2-20 characters, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Set wireless 5ghz to a different name.
Set security to WPA2 personal with 8-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
Set wireless channels manually .. use 11, 6, 1 for 2.4ghz try each in turn in that order.
Use around 40 and around 150 for 5ghz.
4. Test with ethernet.. wireless is never a great test. You never know if the issue is somewhere else. Ethernet is more reliable.

It depends on how quickly YouTube are processing the videos, it is not instant.
Also if you have used copyright music in your video that can delay or prevent it being published.
