Why doesn't the 7.2.2 update work for the Quad PPC?

since we've discussed being upset about this, I thought I would pose this rather simple 'technical' question.
also, is it possible to adapt the universal binary to PPC (using X-code or something)? any programmer people that can answer this?

Definitely same codebase (that's not the point, however). But, there may still be certain pieces of code that need to be added in via a compiler directive (not to mention other compiler directives) that is specifically geared to the PPC. Again, more than just a simple matter of a straight compile.
There could be other issues as well, such as the lop-sized CPU-usage issues on the PPC that may need to be resolved, which may not be apparent on the multi-core Intels due to differences in design. This problem is bad enough at times on a dual processor G5.

    Set it up as a WP or draw document using mail merge. You can enter the name, address, instrument, lesson time, etc. in a database and merge those, as well as the raw data for payments and attendance. Then create a spreadsheet frame to do the calculations. You can merge the necessary dbase info into that.
    For instance, I publish music and my invoice form merges the customer info, the number of copies in their current order and figures up the extended cost, totals the order and adds shipping. Since I only sell wholesale (ie I have the same customers over and over), all I have to do when someone orders is to dupe their last order record and change the number of copies for the different titles to reflect the current order.
    If I need data like how many copies of a given title I sold (when figuring out royalties to arrangers, say), I just merge that dbase data into a spreadsheet.
    What you want to do is doable. You're just doing it kind of wrong way round.

  • Will the Apple Digital AV adapter work for the DISH Remote Access app?

    I have a Sling adapter hooked up to my 722K DISH receiver, and the DISH Remote Access app installed on an iPad 2. Great app, btw.
    What I'd like to know is if I'll be able to use this AV adapter to watch my recorded shows on a TV. Hotel room situation, and I would just like a larger screen every once in a while.
    So far, my understanding doing some searches here is that the adapter will work for Netflix, but won't for HBO GO (bummer).
    Since I'll be phasing out Netflix soon anyway, and this adapter isn't going to work for HBO GO content, I am just wondering if it will for the Dish Remote Access app before I bother to buy one.
    If not, is there something that would be a better choice? I did look at the component and composite cables too, but couldn't quite make up my mind.

  • The get messages function only works for the first account

    regardless of which account is listed in any order, the get messages button only gets messages for the first account in the list, thus if you are expecting one into another account you have to highlight that account and click the get messages....

    I have no idea what your talking about. Thunderbird has no apps.
    Perhaps your talking of add-ons. If you found an add-on perhaps you could mention what it is, so that I and other might know it exists.
    You appear to be under some misconceptions,
    !. Moderation is about answering questions. Wrong. Moderation is about deleting questions, editing comments that do not meet the guidelines for the forum and banning users.
    2. Searching add-on is someone elses job.
    3. Someone is getting paid to accept your criticism. I am not.
    If I as a fellow user an ignorant of an add-on then tough luck for those I advise. They should have been resourceful enough to search for add-ons before they asked the question. I can only tell people what I know.

    Not sure if this is related, but I noticed in your system details that you have malware (the startpage of lf.startnow.com is how I spotted this).

    Do you have an antivirus/anti-spyware solution? If so, please check your computer for infections. If not, follow the above link -- it looks like it had a few more suggestions.

        I have created 2 machines with windows 2008 R2 workgroup and  installed Forefront TMG 2010 
        I am using the VIP for the external adapter for the NLB and going to connect it through the MX record will it work for the incoming mail flow to the Exchange 2010 and external mail flow.

    Based on my experience, the MX record contains the fully qualified domain name of the messaging server that’s responsible for accepting messages for the domain.
    Do you want to configure the TMG server as a secure SMTP relay server? Did you mean that the external DNS server point to TMG’s external IP for the MX rcord and the internal Exchange server is using TMG’s internal IP address as the default gateway? Did you
    install any exchange role on the TMG server?
    I am sorry to say that I am not quite sure of your deployment, I would appreciate it if you can share your network topology and configuration.

    Because you have a 1st generation iPad and iOS 5.1.1 is the last update for it.
    It will not get any further iOS updates beyond 5.1.1
    iOS 7 requires at least an iPad 2

It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story...............         iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!

    Why doesn't elements 12 have 64 bit support for PC users? Most PC's these days are shipped with far more than 2GB of RAM. This move seems very limiting to those with high demands for RAM. Image sizes are only getting larger meaning more RAM needed for adjustments and editing. I have been putting off buying elements 11 waiting to see if 12 had 64 bit support and I am very disappointed to find it doesn't. I can't see myself buying 12 unless a 64 bit for PC is launched soon.

    Mac got the 64-bit. Why? From Pete Green's announcement:
    A handful of features from previous versions are not available in Photoshop Elements 12 due to new product support for 64-bit systems.

    IP routing doesn't work the way many folks might initially think it does; functional IP routing requires manual configuration and the establishment of static routes and default routes specific to the local network configurations, and it's very easy to get it wrong, or to get the default route swapped. Multiple NIC boxes don't magically work, either. (Been there, done that, wondered what happened to my network when the paths got reordered or my route settings were messed up, etc.)
    Routing configuration errors can be quite subtle, too. (Again, voice of experience. Ever had a thousand-seat office LAN accidentally routing through your desktop? As the, um, unnamed guilty party discovered, getting into that configuration was subtle. Seeing the performance crater on the fellow's box and on the LAN was obvious.)
    Knowing how IP routing works is a prerequisite to getting this configuration to work; there's manual configuration required. Clearly something has gone weird here.
    What to do? Read up on IP routing. I'll again suggest the threads and the manual mentioned earlier.
    And in general, I prefer to avoid using my comparatively expensive Mac boxes as sub-optimal IP routers or as firewall boxes. General-purpose operating systems and generic x86 boxes are going to be inherently poor IP routers. Dedicated routers (or embedded or surplus x86 boxes with routing software loaded) offload the Mac boxes here, and are also typically easier to configure manage. And "real" IP routers can have hardware specific to efficiently routing packets. Use of an outboard firewall or firewall-router box also greatly simplifies gateway routing, too; it's a configuration that many folks and many businesses tend to use.

    Why can't the ipad have a device like the S-Pen for the Samsung Note 8? They really need to develop an iPen or something because I'm tired of buying crappy stylus that gives me illegible handwriting and I don't mean a pen for drawing or painting. I've seen enough crap from that Bluetooth pen or whatever. People want a device that feels like paper when you are writing on it. I'm about to jump ship to the Note 8 if the next ipad doesn't have a stylus made by apple for the ipad for legible handwriting and note taking. Their stocks went down and I think an iPen would demolish all other competitors.

    Because the screen technology that Apple uses cannot support the S-Pen. All styluses made for the iDevices mimic a finger being used on the screen.

    Why doesn't apple offer a viewer/file browser for iCloud Drive?
    Dropbox, Microsoft’s OneDrive, and Google Drive all have viewer apps that let you see and manage what’s in the drive.  The only way you can do that with iCloud Drive is through a web browser.  Very frustrating and backward.

    I found a possible band-aid for our problem:
    1) On iOS 8 Device, go to Safari / iCloud.com
    2) Once you get to iCloud.com, you'll notice it won't give you the option to log in.
    3) Tap on the URL bar (this should bring up your bookmarks bar and Frequently Visited Sites)
    4) Tap, Hold, and Slide your finger down on that section (this will reveal two options: (1) Add to Favorites, and (2) Request Desktop Site
    5) Tap Request Desktop Site
    Log in as usual, and you can now access iCloud Drive with your PDFs and other documents like any other computer.
    I too am disappointed as I was looking forward to view PDF's shared between my Macbook and my iPad, but I think this should work until Apple comes out with a solution.

    Sounds like a 'stuck' Shift key. You could try to take the key off and put it back on yourself (should be some info on that from ifixit) or just take it to your local Apple Store and have them fix it.
