Why doesn't the Android Adobe reader app respond to fillable fields in a secure document?

The document's forms are fillable on any other computer. The document does not allow printing or editing but has been allowed fillable forms. The Adobe reader app for Android does not recognize the forms. How can this be fixed?

If the form was created with LiveCycle Designer, it will not work on a tablet or iPax.

Why doesn't the Southwest Airlines DING app work on my iPhone or iPad?  It used to work on my mac computer, but no more.  Are they shutting it down, or just not issuing many special fares?

Ask Southwest Airlines... it's their app.

As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF  to Word export.
    There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.

  • Deleting/removing offline PDF files in the iPad Adobe Reader app

Whenever I open a file from the Acrobat.com cloud in the iPad's Adobe Reader app, a local copy is saved which I can read even when not connected to the internet. This is intentional by Adobe, and allows me to read PDFs offline, which is great. My question is, if an offline copy of every PDF I open is saved on the iPad, it will soon run out of disk space. Is there any way that I can delete/remove a specific offline PDF in order to free up disk space? I understand that this would mean that I would not be able to read that file offline anymore until I reconnect to the Acrobat.com cloud and reopen the document from the cloud. Thanks!

    Hi,
Thank you for reproting the issue. You are right Adobe Reader saves a local copy whenever you opens a file from Acrobat.com. But there is a limitaion to the number of files it saves locally. So whenever the number of files opened from Acrobat.com reaches that value, it removes the first file opened from acrobat.com from its local memory and so on. So there is no chance of running out of memory.
Secondly, if you want to remove the locally saved files then you can just sign out from Acrobat.com and sign in again. In this case it will remove all the files saved locally. Then you have to download them again to view.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Having Problems Seeing your LiveCycle Designer Forms on the iPAD Adobe Reader App?

I'm not a computer wize and very new to Adobe and creating forms with LiveCycle.  So apologize to anyone that reads this and says "duh", but hopefully it will be helpful to someone out there who is struggling like I was.
    First off - the IPad will will definitely be able to view your livecycle forms regardless of what anyone else says!  These were my steps;
    1. Create form in LiveCycle Designer.
    2. When you save, select "save as"
    3. When the dialogue box opens, and you are creating the name of what you are going to call your file, below you will see a drop down box labeled "Save As Type".  Make sure you switch the file type to "Adobe Static PDF Form (*.pdf)"
    And that's it!
Here is another tip for a user like me:)
I need to create a form to post to a website, where people fill it in and save it to their computers.  I found that when I just saved the form straight from LiveCycle Designer and then posted, some of the free adobe versions wouldn't let the user fill it in.  So this is what I did,
    1. Follow the first 3 steps I listed above.
    2. Next open Adobe (the full version) not the reader.  I have Adobe X.
    3. Got to "Save As".  It will give you a bunch of options.  Select "Reader Extended PDF" and then "Enable Additional Features"
    Add that should be it!
One more tip for the average to low level user.  We had some feedback that when someone open my form in the iPad app. they were not able to fill it in.  They could, but what they didn't realize was they needed to select the icon at the top that is a little picture of a speech bubble and pencile.

Yup. I filled in the form and made a bunch of comments, closed the app and everything I had filled in on the form was still there. I also tried emailing the filled in form to myself and opening it. The comments and filled in sections don't appear when I open it in my email viewer, but as long as I open it in the adobe app everything is still there.
Now all I have to do is to convince my web guy not to be mad when I Tell him he has to repost all my files (JK) ;)

  • Would it be possible to add "creative cloud" as a source - and save place - for the Android Adobe Reader?

Being a CC customer, I'd really like to keep some of my most used forms on my CC cloud. These are forms that I regularly need to update data in, while in the field, and using my android tablet (instead of my laptop) for this purpose would be extremely helpful.

Thanks for your valuable feedback , we will try to address it in one of our future releases.

  • How do I fix rotation on the Android Adobe Reader?

I have a PDF displaying a page sideways on my tablet, and if I rotate the tablet to portrait, it fills more nicely but is still sideways.  Where is the rotate control?

A PDF file can have pages in different orientations - so some of them may be in portrait orientation, while the others could be in landscape. And it seems the PDF file you are dealing is of that kind.
Adobe Reader doesn't have the capability to selectively rotate pages for viewing. The only way out in this case would be lock your device's auto-orientation and then rotate it for reading that specific page.

  • "You cannot open the application "Adobe Reader.app" because...

...it is not supported on this architecture." What the heck? AR worked fine on my old PowerBook. Now, I have to use Preview on my new MacBook. Can anybody enlighten me?

You're trying to run the PPC version of Reader. Download and install the Intel version.

  • Adobe reader app crashes every time I try to open documents

On the latest update (10.3 I think), I have no way of accessing my documents outside of "recents" because the documents button in the top-left corner causes the following message: "Unfortunately, adobe reader has stopped. [Report | Ok]". I don't have this problem with earlier versions.
I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but I'm using an Acer Iconia A100 tablet (recently reset to factory settings). There's nothing wrong with the pdfs themselves, they work on my PC and in other e-readers, and adobe reader crashes even when documents is empty anyway.
Help is greatly appreciated, I'll give you any additional info you need.

    Thanks Vykan12 for reporting this.
We will investigate the issue and try to provide the solution ASAP.

  • Why doesn't the search fing my apps.

If I use the search on my I pad it doesn't search my apps or installed content. Only emails and internet.why?

Found my answer in the "more like this" ...

  • The updated Adobe Reader App on the iPad will not flatten a PDF Form before emailing.

My iPad automatically updated and since that update, we cannot fill in PDF forms and flatten to share via email. When we share via email it shares the original file. The help section shows that option to flatten the file, but when actually performing the functions it just automatically attaches the document to the email without that security option. Has anyone run into this issue? How did you resolve it?

As an update, I am finding that I can still send documents via email (and given the option to flatten) if the document was already in my adobe prior to this update, even if I changed the document.  However, If I am opening a new document right now from dropbox or some other source and editing and saving it to adobe, it will only email the original blank document.

  • Why does new version of Adobe reader for Windows 8 not give signed and saved document the "signed" extension when you save the file after placing a signature...  this worked on an earler version.

I have upgraded my PC to new Windows 8 machine ..  Now when I place a signature on document and save it does not automatically place a "signed" extension on the filename.  Previous version on my machine always did this.
Why is this ,  can I set up my new version to do same...

When you "save as" as opposed to simply "save", there is sometimes a different location for the file to be saved. When you "save as" to the same location as an original, you will bewarned that a file already exists with that name and be asked if you're sure you want ot overwrite the original file. If you didn't see that when "saving as", you probably saved the signed file to a different location.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
