Why doesn't the back browser button work? It is a pain having to reload current pages and then i loose my site work

I am just having a lot of problems with firefox and am about ready to go back to I.E.
The '''''back browser button does not work '''''when i am viewing pages and i have to use that stupid reload button, and most time I end up loosing my work or page I was on.
I also can not get certain articles to c'''''ome up using the pdf program and the nitro pdf program '''''can not get loaded. i can not get updated to the the new 4.o version.
And my computer is a new touchsmart I recently bought. i am just getting tired of spending so much time trying to figure out what works and don't work and having to try to down load this and that.
I have the new windows 7 program loaded on this computer. I have tried to change some information over to windows 7 and the highest update I can see is windows 2000????

thanks for the reply. You prompted me to check and I realised it wasn't installed on my test laptop and opening in Microsoft Reader. I've installed it now and it works.
My next challenge is to prevent the mailto: command opening Microsoft Mail instead of Outlook, but I guess every user will have a different default.

Before I upgraded to Firefox 4, the back button (as it is in every other browser under the sun,) had a dropdown so you could skip one tier of going back and drop back multiple levels. This is especially important when there is a site redirecting you and you can't rewind past it with single Back clicks. However, FF4 doesn't have this -- at least not by default -- and I don't see it anywhere in the options to add it. Is it hiding somewhere I haven't found, or was that removed?

I just updated to iOS 6. One of the first things I tried was the new App Store. So I checked out Genius.
Neat. Except.. when you tap the button to install, the "Install Now" button looks ATTROCIOUS! What were you thinking Apple? With a reputation for solid design perfection, this is just trashy.
But more importantly, the Not Interested button seems to have zero effect. When I tap it, the button depresses and sticks, like it's an on/off switch. Fine, a little counter-intuitive based on what Apple's User Guidelines might say, but fine. Except it doesn't remove the app from my recommendations. Not immediately, not after switching to a new tab (top, featured, etc) and back, not after exiting the app and opening it again, not even after killing App Store and opening it again. What exactly is this button supposed to do? Regardless of how many times I try to not be interested, Evernote is the first app in Genius. In fact, since I've downloaded all the suggestions I liked, my entire Genius list is stuff I'm not interested in, and I can't make them disappear so Genius has now become ********. Completely pointless.

occurs no matter which page I try the Select feature on.
I cleared the cache twice and it's still happening. I closed IE and then
reopened it before I tried again. I did this twice also.

When I click the select tool I'm not getting the little pointer that
highlights the area. I just have the regular highlighting. I've watched a

The question says it all, really. I just installed Firefox 4, and noticed a significant (for me) reduction in utility: in the previous version, the back button used to have a drop-down arrow which showed the previous pages visited in a particlular tab, and allowed you to go back several pages in one go, if you wanted to (say, when browsing a series of sites to buy something or other). Firefox 4 no longer has this facility, which I personally found very useful from time to time.
Is it available by some other means? If not, maybe I should consider reverting to the previous version, which suited me better, in this regard at least.

Just put the little arrow back into the system. Fix this now. I don't want 2 other options. Get this right for "nontech" people.

As I said in subject line, the scanner on my printer quit working after scanning one page. There were no messages telling me of an error and the scanning screen didn't come up even when I scanned the one page. PLEASE HELP!

Is it possible to move ( sync ) the music from an old IPOD version 3.1.2 to ITUNES ( current version ) and then move those music files to an IPHONE 4S?

Have an old IPOD version 3.1.2. which holds a lot of old music
The goal would be to either sync that music to ITUNES on a PC or move said music to the desired IPhone or ICloud
however the old-ness of the IPOD is requiring an update which wants to wipe out the IPOD thus losing the music.
We have backed up IPOD to ITUNES ( on a pc ) but it would be nice to sync from IPOD to ITUNES as opposed to ITUNES to IPOD

In my current Firefox, the "new tab" icon/item from the "customize" pop-up window menu of items is placed next to my home, back, forward buttons near the top-left of my header (Button 1 for "new tab"). Then, the tab bar automatically come with a small tab (with a + sign) to the right of your last tab opened (so you click on + and a new tab opens. Button 2 for "new tab"). I like to have this "new tab" button twice (as a + mini tab, and next to my "home icon".
When I upgraded to Firefox 4, I seemed to be only able to "customize" or use the "new tab" in one place. Either as an icon next to home button, or as a "+ minitab", but NOT both.
What can I do to put this button in Firefox 4 on BOTH places???
Your help is really appreciated. I want to upgrade, but I want my buttons on both places...

After I search using Google in Firefox, and hit the back arrow button to return to the main homepage I use, the browser won't take me there. Instead, I'm left at the initial results page from my search.

Assume I start at Google as my homepage. I search for Federal Reserve. Google then brings up a number of selections for Federal Reserve. I can scroll through to more search results on page 2, 3, 4, etc. Now suppose I want to use the back arrow button to go back to Google as my homepage. I’ve found what I was looking for. When I try to get back to Google, the furthest back I can go is to page 1 of the search results. The browser won’t take me back to the original starting page which was Google. Also, it doesn’t matter what the starting page or initial page was. The browser will only take me back to the initial page after the original homepage. By the way, I did not install any new software or applications prior to this problem occurring. My guess is that it may have something to do with the function keys at the top of the keyboard. But I can’t figure out what the problem is with the function keys. It’s only a guess.

I changed the about:config to make the rotate gesture move between tabs, and it worked great for well over a year. Now it behaves erratically as described here:

It used to be very controllable to move one tab over, now it is erratic and moves quickly and to unexpected tabs regardless of how slow I do the rotate gesture. This is the main reason I use Firefox over Chrome and I would like to continue to do so unless there is no fix to this.

Just set the browser.gesture.twist.threshold to something around 15-25.

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

Why doesn't the CC app work properly?

I've been using Creative Cloud for some time now and am really loving it, however I must say it is a source of annoyance that the Creative Cloud app just doesn't work properly.
Firstly, I used it initially to download all my apps, then after an update those apps no longer appeared in the "Apps" list. Now only those that have been installed since that update appear in this list. Why doesn't the "Apps" list display all of the Adobe CC apps that I have installed on my computer?
Why does it keep reinstalling fonts? I'm always getting "Lush Script Regular" and other fonts being added.
It regularly comes up telling me that Dreamweaver and Premiere Pro need to be updated, but always I get an error, then the update request disappears.
I'm regularly getting 4 files that it can't sync - even though they are the same files as others in the folder. If nothing else, why can't I say "Great, got the message". Also, why is the error message just "due to server error" with no advice on how to resolve it? Why is there a server error on only these 4 files?
It seems to me there are still some teething issues with the CC app, but what I don't understand is why they aren't being resolved much faster, given that this is the portal to the service.
Of course, given Adobe I doubt I'll get satisfactory answers – a little jaded with their responses. Anyway, thought I'd at least post the questions.

Questapo I am sorry you have been facing difficulties with your Creative Cloud experience. I don't believe it will be possible to address all of your concerns in one discussion. I would not be surprised if at least three of the issues are related to the same root cause.
First in order for the applications to be visible are you regularly needing to delete the OPM.db file? You can find this listed as solution 2 in CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

You do get a nice answer of something like .035. But this is all done manually and I need it to function automatically when the report is refreshed.
So you have a range for the currency and a range for the date fields. I need to simulate this in crystal. Crystal has an XIRR function, and with the arrays, I should be able to fill in the range, but am having difficulty getting it to work.
After building the arrays, I made another formula to combine the arrays in the XIRR formula.
I am down to this error now after getting this formula this far --
"Numerical method did not converge; try another value for guess."
Here's where I am with the formula, although they don't want to use the guess part of the XIRR function - they just want to use the XIRR(number/currency, date). Maybe you could pass this on too?:

The array works correctly. So why do I get that error and why doesn't the XIRR formula work like they say it should? Has anyone used this successfully in Crystal--maybe you could shed some light?

I am receiving that same error when the last item in the array is 0, otherwise all works perfectly.
When I run the same group of numbers and dates in Excel it returns without issue.

Without more information, speculation is a waste of time. At the least tell us what you do, what the results are, and how that result differs from your expectation. Then tell us what steps you have taken to resolve the issue, and what the results of taking those steps was.
