Why doesn't the customer support menu-driven system offer an "opt-out" option for cases where none of the available options meets the customer's need?

I have called customer support several times to get problems with my service plan corrected. None of the menu-driven options meets my needs, but the system does not offer a way to connect to a live rep. The only way to get to a live rep is to hit the "invalid selection" O key several times. Good customer service would include an "opt-out" choice.

I'm sorry to learn that our phone system does not include an option for your specific concerns Windy1040! I can address all Verizon Wireless issues! How can I help you?

For one thing, true call blocking (ie. where the call NEVER actually connects through to your number) can only be done by the service provider at their switches.
The best a device can do is allow the call to connect, and then use the caller ID information to compare that to a list of allowed and a list of disallowed caller IDs.  That is a feature known as blacklisting, but it is not the same as actually blocking a call completely.
So as suggested, contact your carrier and ask what they can do for you.

Why do iPhones/iPad not support Flash Player/Java and what are my alternatives for browsing sites using these plug-ins?

There are also iSwifter, Photon, Skyfire, etc., some only support Flash some support Java and Flash.
Adobe never made a version of Flash for iOS and closed their mobile flash division a couple of years ago. You can get Flash on other personal devices but you will be using a 2 year old version that has not been patched for security vulnerabilities.
When the original iPhone was released Mr. Jobs said it would never run Java as it was old technology and a security risk. Nothing has changed since.

What did I do wrong? Is it necessary to have a question mark at the end of the Rule? I couldn't find anything on how to create a Smart Playlist in Help. There is stuff in there, but it does not go into much detail, i.e., nothing on the proper wording of the Rule.

#1. Understand that if you switch carriers, you can NOT take your existing iPhone with you. It won't work. You will need to purchase a new one.
#2. Your only choices are Sprint and Verizon. Decide who has the better coverage in your area. Keep in mind that you will NOT be able to get simultaneous voice and 3G data on either of these, as their CDMA networks do not support it. The U.S. T-Mobile network is not supported and is not fully compatible with the iPhone as it operates on a rarely used frequency compared to the rest of the world.
#3. What in the world are "niners"? Do you mean you want to be able to keep your existing "phone numbers"? If so, that should be no problem. Most numbers in the US are now portable.
#4. Consider WHY you want to switch. If the issue is really price, you're not going to see much of a difference. A few dollars a month at best for comparable voice and data plans.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Draw support Jot Touch with Pixelpoint, yet the FAQ indicates it does?

Bought an iPad Air 2 & the Jot Touch with Pixel Point a week ago so I could use the mobile apps.  So far I love what I can draw with my finger, but I need the pressure sensitivity and precision of a stylus.
After troubleshooting for a week with Adonit customer service, I got this response:
Hello! Thanks for your response. We've actually have seen issues with the new screen bonding on the iPad Air 2s. This seems to have affected almost all styluses and even some apps that don't require a stylus. It has to do with the way the screen bonding interferes with the detection of contact points on the screen. Please refer to our blog post on this issue here:
    http://www.adonit.net/blog/archives/2014/11/19/improvements-underway-ipad-air-2/
Our development team has been hard at work though on a software fix to help provide some corrections for that issue, and this has been used by a number of app developers already; GoodNotes 4, ZoomNotes, Sketch Club, Penultimate, Procreate, and (Autodesk) SketchBook, so you can try one of those Apps. This does provide a better experience, though some problems may still remain.
    I hope this information helps!

So Adonit is recommending I don't use the Adobe mobile apps?
The post Debbie refers to is from Nov 19, 2014.  Will Adobe update the mobile apps to address these connectivity issues?
Since Adonit manufactures the Adobe Ink & Slide, I assume it will have the same issues?

I've done this multiple times and it produces essentially the same message, but there is a mention that a restart is pending. This is also strange because this is definitely not the case. First time I used CScleaner it took a while and was obviously busy correcting something. However now when I select clean all, it simply dumps anopther massive log file into AppData and says cleaning completed successfully. Now I just ran it again, so would you like me to post the more recent log file?

  • Why doesn't Apple host "support communities" with Apple representatives?

I'm a big Apple fan. I've been using Macs for more than 25 years, and luckily for me I bought Apple stock at a good price. But there are times when it seems to me that Apple has chosen saving moneny over providing good service to its customers.
Case in point: a few days ago, I had a couple of problems with purchases on iTunes. I wanted to give iTunes money, but I was prevented from doing so, and I couldn't get through to iTunes support.
It turns out the support problem was caused by a Safari extension called Ghostery. It was blocking Adobe Analytics, and that stopped the support link from working. Why couldn't I just 800-MY-APPLE and connect to support? iTunes is the world's largest music retailer, and Apple has long been in the top 2 or 3 most profitable companies. It currently has $150 BILLION in cash reserves. Why do they have to save pennies on customer support?
When Ghostery (an approved Safari extension) caused problems with the Apple website, there should have been other ways to get to the support.

This is one of the problems with this kind of support: helpful people being helpful inadvertantly give the wrong information, and then you either have to correct them (which comes across as being negative) or the thread goes down the wrong tracks.
Ghostery makes the link you gave not work
I did not give you the wrong information; that link works both in FF and Safari here.
When you install third party addons you have to expect unexpected behavior. Add ons are not guaranteed. If you will read any SLA, you will note that such things can happen and Apple does not guarantee uninterrupted use. So, instead of telling me that I gave you the wrong information, disable or uninstall Ghostery.
    — iTunes is part of Apple selling things and "MY APPLE"—what logical reason is there to make it innaccessible to 800-MY-APPLE?
Sales and support are generally two separate entities in a large corporation. The hardware sales and iTunes stores are two separate entities.
    Good luck.

This might be a naive question, but according to the documentation,WL 7.0
    does
not support http post/get bindings for web services. Thus, for meto
    access a
web service, I need to write a "middle tier" of some sort (I used
    the
    automatically
generated Java proxy code and JSP). All works fine, but it seems
    like
    it
    would
sure be nice to have HTML forms access web services without havingto
    write a
    middle tier.
NET does this and it is extremely useful - is there a reason that
    BEA
    chose not
to provide this feature? (e.g. is it architecturally unsound in anyway?
    or is
there an easy way to simulate it?). Given some of the Web Workshoppositioning
re: ease of use and .NET comparison, this seems like an omission.

PS - Here's the info from the documentation
Web Services Description Language (WSDL) 1.1 Specification
WSDL is an XML-based language that describes Web services. WSDL definesWeb services
as a set of endpoints operating on messages; these message containeither
    message-style
or RPC-style information. The operations and messages are describedabstractly
in WSDL, and then bound to a concrete network protocol and messageformat
    to define
an endpoint. Related concrete endpoints are combined into abstractendpoints (services).
WSDL is extensible to allow the description of endpoints and theirassociated
messages regardless of what message formats or network protocols areused
    to communicate,
however, the only bindings described in the specification describehow to
    use
WSDL in conjunction with SOAP 1.1, HTTP GET/POST, and MIME.
Note: WebLogic Server supports only SOAP 1.1 bindings.
The WSDL 1.1 Specification is available at http://www.w3.org/TR/wsdl.

This isn't a straight FORM Post as in the http binding support in WSDL. It posts
    a soap message.
It's apparent that Workshop supports form-post and form-get.
But I dont see how it is done with straight WebLogic webservices. Does WebLogic
server read the web-services.xml or the WSDL file? I dont see a way to put in
http-post binding in the former and in the latter it seems to be ignored.
    Can someone clarify.
    Thanks.

  • Why doesn't this forum support Opera? You even use it in your own software, Adobe!

It's really pissing me off that Adobe chooses to use a forum frontend that does not support the Opera browser. Makes me have to go out of my save habitat, log all in again with a forgotten password through a browser I don't like, for no apparent reason because there's plenty of forums out there that don't have fanboy browser issues.
Here's the fun thing. Ever wonder how Opera got magically installed on your OSX Mac? Because from Creative Suite 3 and up, it is included with the Adobe software.
This isn't right, Adobe guys. You should either pay Jive Software a bunch of money to support Opera, or switch to other forum software that has no browser issues. There's plenty of free ones.

All I can say is.. it must be a monumental event. Or they don't take kindly to their own forums.
It must be hard to migrate a forum where crazy html is supported making people able to mess with anything.
