Why doesn't the iPod touch have the A7 chip if it supposedly made for gaming and hardcore apps?

Apple has not released a new model of iPod touch since the A7 processor was introduced. When Apple will, or indeed if they will, is as lllass said not something any of use here would know. We'll just have to wait and see.
Regards.

Googling shows that you have the 1G iPod.  For apps you need at least iOS 2. The iG can go as far os 3.1.3 that you get here:
Purchasing iOS 3.1 Software Update for iPod touch (1st generation)
Just be aware that there are presently not that many apps that work with a 1G with iOS 3.1.3

  • HT4623 why doesn't my ipod touch have 'software update' on it? I can't add apps on it because of this.

I have an ipod touch and I can not add apps to it as it is saying I need to update my ipod.
The trouble is when I go to General - there is no SOFTWARE UPDATE on the ipod.
What do I do to update it and be able to download apps?
    Please Help!

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

Also read the instructions from the section entitled "Update your device using iTunes" at the link below.

Information regarding transferring purchases from your iDevice to iTunes on your syncing computer can be found at the link below.

NOTE: The 2nd generation iPod Touch can not be upgraded beyond 4.2.1.

  • Why does my 8GB Ipod Touch have Voice Memos?

Why does my 8GB Ipod Touch have Voice Memos?  According to Apple's manual the Voice Memos will only work on the 32GB Ipod Touch.  The old 8GB does not have a microphone.

The Apple Users Guide for the the iPod w/ iOS 4.2.1 says the the 2G, 3G and 4G  iPod have voice memos but you need an external for the 2G and 3G models since they do not have an internal mic.  No info on 8 GB model not having VM.  You can get the Users Guide from the iBook store.

  • Why doesn't my iPod touch go to landscape on the internet

I have a new iPod touch. It will not go landscape on the internet when I rotate the iPod. Videos are fine, but for some reason, the touch only wants to do portrait mode on internet even when I rotate the iPod touch. I have read the manuals thinking I was doing something wrong, but it sounds like it should be automatic. Thanks in advance.

    According to Apple Support:
    +*Display does not go into wide-screen mode*+
+Open a web page or video and try turning iPod touch on its side to see if it goes into wide-screen+
+If that doesn't work, try another web page or video.+
+Note: Not all applications on iPod touch use wide-screen mode. Videos are automatically in wide-screen mode on when in iPod and YouTube.+
This may be the issue you are experiencing. Have you tried multiple pages to see if any work?

  • Why doesn't my ipod touch show on the wheres my iphone app

I lost my ipod touch and it was dead why won't it find it on where is my iphone app?

To locate an iDevice, the device has to be on with wifi on. locations services on, and connected to a wifi network. If the device has been restored, it wil never show up in theFindMyiPhone/iPod.
You said it was dead, that sounds like it was not on.

  • Why doesn't my iPod Touch 5G have a compass?

On Apple's list of stock apps, it claims that the iPod Touch 5G has a compass.
    Here's the text:
The Compass app is all you need to get your bearings. Just hold your iPod touch flat in your hand to see the four cardinal directions and the degrees of each. Or swipe to the left for a level or an inclinometer.
The link to where you find the text:
    http://www.apple.com/ipod-touch/built-in-apps/

This seems to be a mistake. (This picture could be taken from the iPhone)
The iPod can't have a compass, because it needs GPS which the iPod doesn't have.
Leave Apple a feedback to they can remove it.

  • Why doesn't my iPod touch show the Genius icon?

I hope somebody can help me with this, it seems like a simple problem, but I can't figure it out. I have genius mixes turned on with itunes and it shows up on my itouch. HOWEVER: when I am playing a song there used to be the genius icon on top of the song while it was playing. When I clicked on that icon the itouch would select other like songs. That button went away and is replaced with only the artist, title, and album of the song playing. I still have genius mixes, but I don't have the icon while the song is playing. What happened to the icon? I tried restoring the itouch, and I called apple, and I still don't have an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just tap the "now playing" screen. The Genius icon you are looking for is part of the additional song controls. Tap the screen again and these controls disappear

  • Why doesn't my iPod touch 4G recognize any Wi-fi?

I don't really know how it happened but, one day when I was browsing the web, it just disconnected from my home WI-fi. I have a wireless network that is password protected, but it doesn't even recognize any network, secure or not, password protected or not. Last night, I updated my software to iOS 6 because the version on my iPod was 4.3.4. I was hoping that maybe the software update couldn't fix this problem but it doesn't appear to have fixed it. How could I troubleshoot this issue to allow my iPod to recognize my Wi-fi and any other Wi-fi in general?

  • Why doesn't my ipod touch recognise videos?

    Hello,
Since 2 weeks i bought an ipodtouch 4 and i can't manage to put a video on it.
    What i tried:
    Different converters,
Fully Rebooted my touch, but still a white screen with underlines in the Movies,
    Last IOS version,
So the videos are on itunes but not on the ipod after the sync. (i checked in parameters, there isn't any video either).
Sorry for my bad english and thank you pour any future advice.

Yes, but it didn't help me because the itunes converter works only for very small files, and i would like to watch some movies while travelling. The video format i'm trying to put on it is normally correct, it has :
    mp4
    112kb/s
    480*320
    codec video H.264
    Any ideas?
