Why doesn't the text boxes in Pages for iPad show the arrows to link the Boxes together?

Hi. I am using Pages, which I love, on my iPad.
As a perfectionist, I would like all my textboxes to be linked so that if I move one I can move them all.
Any suggestions?
When I tap on the boxes I don't have the arrows appear like you would on a Mac.

You can find many themes at https://github.com/hdoria/xcode-themes There's a download zip button on the right side of the page.
Unzip and and copy the .dvtcolortheme files into /Users/YourUsername/Library/Developer/XCode/UserData/FontAndColorThemes Create the directory if it doesn't exist.
If you can't find the Library directory you can get to it by using Finder's "Go to Folder..." option under "Go" or press shift + cmd + G then type the path.

The only choices you have in the iPad itself are to change the keyboard or change the user interface language. If that doesn't do what you want, probably best ask the people who make Papers.

Sorry, I was confused by your profile signature showing "GarageBand (Mac) '11".
It is very similar in the newest GarageBand 10.0.2:
Enable Audio Units in the GarageBand Preferences > Audio/Midi.
Create a software instrument track.
Show the Smart Controls and click the button.
In the Info panel scroll, to make the Audio Units brick visible and click the "Instrument" control. Select "AuInstrument > Apple > DLSMusicDevice" and click it, to open the settings.
This should show you a panel, where you can select a Sound Bank. Does that show your sound font?

Text formatting in Pages for iPad 2

I am trying to apply text formattting within a document in pages. It will not allow me to format text within a sentence to bold or italics for specific words. The fonts in question do have these formats as options, but pressing the corresponding format button does nothing. I can change the style to lists, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

It is not built in, but you can at least create and edit footnotes (I do not use end notes, but from limited testing, it appears to work with endnotes as well but converts them to footnotes). It sounds complicated when you break it down into steps as I do below, but it really is easy and intuitive.
FIRST: The underlying concept. If you have the latest Pages for iPad, then when it imports a Word document it imports footnotes (and endnotes) and you can edit them.
With that in mind, here is how you can create footnotes on the iPad.
#1 In Word create a one short sentence shell text with a short footnote, like "See the cat run /fn1" "fn/1 The cat was black").
#2 Import that shell document into your iPad, say with email "open using Pages."
#3 Save that shell document as your sour dough starter so to speak.
#4 Now create your new Pages iPad document.
#5 When you are ready to create your FIRST new footnote, copy and paste the shell sentence with shell footnote from your saved starter shell document into your new iPages document.
#5. Edit the shell sentence and footnote to a real sentence and footnote in new document.
#6 Thereafter, as you add new footnotes, either copy / paste one from new document or shell and edit. You will see they renumber properly, even when moved.

Why does the bottom bar in pages for ipad hide my typing?

When I type enough text to scroll to the bottom of the screen on Pages for my iPad, the new (and redundant) tool bar hides the text. I have to manually scroll the text every time I find myself at the bottom of the screen. This only happens when I am using my Apple keyboard with the iPad. Extremely annoying!
I can't believe I am the only iPad user, with an auxiliary keyboard, who is experiencing this glitch. I have been to see the "genius" – no joy. Tried everything I can think of. Anybody who can help me either get the text to scroll before going under the toolbar, or cancel the toolbar all together. (It doesn't add any features, since all the tools are available from the top of the screen.)

This is likely to be a persona (light weight theme). There is a person who uses the name MaDonna who creates Personas, and some of them are signed MaDonna in the status bar at the bottom of the browser. Text Wrapping in Pages for iPad

I have an iPad 2 and have started using Pages. I already have several lines of text and have inserted a normal rectangular image. I can't get the text to wrap around the image the way I would like. Currently, I can only get the text to go above and below the image. I would like the text to wrap around the sides as well. I have tapped on the information button and selected Wrap then changed it to "Around." No matter what different options I try, I can't get the text to wrap all the way around the image, only above and below.
Does anyone have any advice?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

The latest issue of Pages for iPad: 1. Very slow. 2. Late in reacting to typing. 3. When I go to a specific file, informs me that some images were deleted and therefore file has been changed. Then when OPEN option used, opens file slowly. Please, help!

What I have to do to correct the following problems with Pages app. For iPad:
Hesitates to display results of typing, some times for 5-6 characters;
Very slow in opening files;
Before opening of a specific file displays message: DOCUMENT DETAILS. SOME CHANGES WERE MADE TO YOUR DOCUMENT. SOME IMAGES ARE MISSING BECAUSE THEY WERE DELETED FROM YOUR DOCUMENT. We'll, nothing is missing. But it takes forever to open this file. The previous issue of Pages worked very good. But they would not let me to go back to it. Please, help!

Tmobile did the exact same thing to me. So that is customer service at work in general. Nice try though lol.

I see you said You paid for shipping, did you Insure it? Claim insurance on it. If you did not, It may not be Verizon or your fault in the sense of the phone not making it to the warehouse. There are people out in the postal world that will steal phones that are not insured. It could have been a Verizon employee, i suppose.
But, if this was to be a bought in court, if you shipped it with out insurance, sadly your at fault.
Do you still have the Serial number of your old phone? If so, you should be able to track where your phone is (if it is reported as a defect/damaged) If so, you may be able to use that as proof. If it does not show up as a defect or what ever they determine use as a loss, then you know it did not make it to the warehouse to be checked in. I would suspect Apple or Verizon could tell you what the Serial number came up as.

Does the new version of pages for ipad have backwards compatability with previous versions of Pages?

This one question is preventing me from downloading the new version of pages - I am worried I will lose the ability to read documents made with the previous version of pages, or that they will be automatically converted into the new format without my knowing. My laptop does not have Mavericks so I will have to keep using an older version of pages here, but I am reluctant to download the new version to my ipad because of concerns that users have previously voiced about the lack of backwards compatability. Is this still the case, or is there now backwards compatability?

Apple is out to attract iOS users, who mainly do selfies and twitter. They pay better because they are undemanding, don't even notice when Apple offers them something inferior and have been broken in with the iTunes Store harness.

Text wrapping on Pages for iPad

When viewing documents on Pages (version 2.2.1) on the iPad Air, I'm noticing that some multi-syllable words at the end of a line are being split with a hyphen (?Automatic hyphenation). If I view the same document on iCloud Pages on my Macbook, there is no hyphenation on the document, so I don't know why it is only happening on the iPad. I have searched high and low through settings to try and fix this, and I tried reloading the document from word, but same thing is still happening.
It is so offputting when I'm working on my documents! Any help is appreciated!
(I only noticed this today, so I wonder if it has just happened or if the app auto-updated without my knowing, and I don't know how to change it. Also - it's only on the couple of documents I used within the last couple of days, so this made me wonder if it is due to an app update??)

That is not true to my knowledge, as you can reopen the file from iCloud on the Mac without problem.

Again, where are you getting this from? My understanding is that formatting from OSX is retained but a degree of it can't be edited or created in iOS.

Yes unfortunately Apple periodically makes statements that are not true and has been held to account by the consumer authorities. It has happened here in Australia and the EEC has done the same. Unfortunately it is based in the USA where in recent times corporations have not been held to account.

I don't see where I can check my Firefox version. It is the current version as is Flash Player.

Image quality in Pages for iPad

Hello!
I'm editing a new book in Pages (OS X). It has several high quality images.
I need to edit the same file in Pages for iPad. I use iCloud, so the file will be synced.
I'm worried about the QUALITY of all my images. I'm affraid Pages for iPad will DECREASE the quality of my images; then, when re-opening the file in my iMac, I could have images with less resolution. Is this true? Could it happen or the quality will be PRESERVED?

Good question!
From my rough testing of round tripping a Document and checking the size in the Share Export Page option it looks as if it maintains the Origanal Document size. Even after it has been Editted on both an iPad and Desktop. Hope this helped
There is also the option to check the Document size under the Inspector, first Tab then the last Button (Info) I think you have to Save the Document first before "Show File Info" becomes active

Cmd brings up dashboard, can I change it? I used to use it to change the text size in Pages

Upgraded to lion and all is good. However, cmd+ has been hyjacked by the OS to bring up the dashboard. I use cmd+ and cmd- to change the text size in Pages. Is there a way to change the Lion keyboard shortcuts to get the functionality back for Pages? The cmd- still works to reduce text size in Pages, so it's even more frustrating that cmd+ does something else.

Well on my MBP running Lion 10.7.2 Command+ or - does not do anything, and that is using either Command+ or Command(+ shift)+. I do not have pages installed.
The point is that Command+ and Command- should control the text size in Pages (we're not talking about any othr program, just Pages). Those are hard-set (programmed in the software) keyboard commands for Pages.
In Pages, Command+ should increase the text size, and not bring up the Dashboard. And that is the OP's problem - that command is bringing up Dashboard, which it should not do. Apparently there is some setting somewhere that is causing Command+ to do the wrong thing - and that's what we're trying to find.
So at least on my MBP Command+ certainly does not bring up the Dashboard....
Good - it's not supposed to, nor is that what the OP wants.
By the way, if you use Safari and/or Mail, you'll find that Command+ and Command- adjust the text size in those programs. Ditto Numbers, TextEdit, Bean, and many other programs - it's a fairly common assignment, hence not one which usually needs to be added via Keyboard Shortcuts.
