Why doesn't thunderbird update?

I often don't get new e-mails that have been sent and are in my inbox. Also when I delete messages on my accounts they are not deleted in thunderbird. I end up having to go to each separate account and checking instead of just going to thunderbird.

What mail provider?

My problem is to undestand why I got a syntax error about parenthesis.Because you cannot perform arithmatic operation with a value coming from a subquery in a SET clause of UPDATE

Why doesn't the update part of the App Store work? It says I have an update and the screen is white. I've already restarted the phone. Every other part of the App Store works. I have the iPhone 4. Upgraded a week ago to iOS6 and it was working fine up until yesterday. Not sure what to do? Help!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Why doesn't FF UPDATE show in Downloads ?

Just updated to FFv28. Preferences generally on my Win7x64 machine are to notify of updates to DL/apply, NOT full-auto background update, so I can keep in touch with what's happening, at least to some degree.
**Noticed the FF-Update-download DOES NOT SHOW in my downloads NOR in the standard folder where all downloads are set to go on my machine. Why is this ? **
How do I know I haven't just DL'd from a foxacid server ? (or some other malicious imposter) - esp. since no site shows onscreen.
Separate-but-related (but above is most important question) does FF have some integrated some DL authentication process (/esp./ FF updates) for both the DL source and the actual DL itself? eg, auto MD5 checksum comparison (yeah wiki8pedia reads MD5 is not recommended anymore, but whatever the alternative methods is - you get my drift ?)

To clarify -
I want to see the downloaded file after I have downloaded it, whether the DL is auto or initiated by me, I want to see (and have my security software inspect) the downloaded file BEFORE it is installed (and I may later wish to re-install the file). And the downloaded file which is the updated version of FF DOES NOT SHOW UP in the folder where all downloads are set to go on my machine, NOR does it show in the Tools>Downloads box. SO (1) why is this, (2) where IS it, (3) how to correct this behaviour so it behaves like any other DL and goes where I have set it to go. ?!?

BUT WHY does the file not DL to where all DL's are set to go to in Preferences ? And besides being hidden in an obscure folder (NOT where DLs are set to go to), the user is not given the chance to scan the file for viruses etc as once the user clicks ok to update, the file is DL'd and installed in one action. ## 'Security' in obscurity is INSECURE ## that is very old not-news, so WHY ????? And this is where the separate-but-related question (above) kicks in too..

Since I upgraded to mountain lion, my Artisan printer stopped working. After talking to Epson and trying all kind of things, it was determined its definitely a driver problem. The PC ping the printer well but won;t print to it as it think its not connected (when it is as priven by the ping).
The new driver for Epson 50C20D are on the list of update available drivers on the OS X wen site yet trigering "Software Update" does does detect I need it... Why is that? Thanks

Thanks Mende1. The printer is there and installed allright. Even shows as "idle" until I try to print to it. The driver version shows 6.36 and I ned to update to 9 which is only avail from the App store... However, the app store don't detect I need it..

Well, you have to ask Virtru why they don't provide an add-on for Thunderbird.
Thunderbird itself supports both cryptographically signing the message and encrypting it, based on the S/MIME. See [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Message_security this article] for details.

Why doesn't Lightroom update from the CC App?

With every new update, I don't get it as "updatable" from the CC App; but as soon as I start LR, it asks for an update. I have then to "install" it again from the CC App until next update where the procedure repeats then...

Run the cleaner tool and start from scratch. This is probably some version conflict in the installer database

I have this same problem with three machines (all linux - different versions of linux & firefox). Yes, I could do a manual update. But, I would like to get the issue with auto-update sorted out. I have a common network setup: private IP (192.168.15.xxx) on a router connected to COMCAST. There is a firewall but no proxy.

Thanks cor-el! Your question about how it was installed was spot on. It was installed as root (I always do that for an app like Firefox so that it is available to all users. That is also the default when installing apps with yum or other package managers). The solution is to run firefox as root (''kdesu firefox'') so that it has access to the installation folder for writing. I selected Help -> about firefox and it updated right away.
The error for the mozilla people is in not detecting and either handling (asking for root privileges) or reporting the problem instead of hanging up in an infinite loop.

Whenever Muse has an update, I don't know about it until I open the Muse application and it asks me if I want to update. The the AIR update appears and I have to close Muse so AIR can update. Is this normal?

I can't activate spell checker because there are no misspelled words underlined, when I know that there are.

To enable underlining of incorrectly spelt words as you type:
'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'Spelling' tab
or
'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'Spelling' tab
select : 'Enable spell check as you type'
click on OK
However, you do not have to have this enabled in order to use Spellcheck.
Click on 'Spelling' in the toolbar, it will open a small window offering potential spelling corrections for mispelt words.

it's also likely that you used two different apple IDs to purchase apps. if that's the case then you simply have to log out of your app store, and log into the other account to update the apps.
from experience it's not possible to syncronise purchased content from two different accounts. but you can always give Apple a call.

I know why I have been having problems with FF 3.6.16 and the last thunderbird update

I am in Canada and for some reason downloads for both 3.6.12 FF and the last Thunderbird update was the BritishVersions thats why I have UK search engines, not the US versions maybe that is why I am have trouble with my email and addons. The other 2 computers in my house is the US versions.
But there is still something a bit screwey with 3.6.12 some of the addons are not working properly on the other puters. Can you please change the sofware to the US version please????? Thank you

If you keep the wrong language then remove the offending language pack from the chrome folder in the Firefox program folder.
You may need to (re)set the pref "general.useragent.locale" to the preferred language ("en-US") on the about:config page.<br />
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, like you open a web site.<br />
Use the Filter bar at the top of that page to quickly locate the pref.

I am a web developer and need to reload the page constantly to see changes, I can't have it be that safari takes a day to refelct changes-it used to happen instantly, what has changed?

It probably says more about MySpace than Safari but anyway you could try the latest nightly build of Safari's Webkit web browser engine. I always use this now and find it offers greater all round performance.

In case you don't know, you just run the webkit application instead of Safari but in use it will seem no different than Safari because all you're doing is running an updated version of the rendering engine in Safari. Safari 3.1 remains untouched and you can switch back to that if you wish.
