Why doesnt jpeg show up as an option when i do a save-as?

out of the blue, when i go to Save As my tiff, the options are about halved. and jpeg is not one of them! suddenly i cant turn a tiff into a jpeg. help!

It just automatically switches to 8 bit and "as a copy" operation to save JPEGs from 16 bit documents. There's no problem with the saved files.
I don't know how many other formats this shortcut applies to. I know I (probably among others) requested it going WAYYY back, because without it what I was occasionally doing (by accident) was switching my document to 8 bits/channel, Save As JPEG, then forgetting to go back in the history to preserve the 16 bitness in the master document.
From what I have seen, all the modern browsers handle 24 bit PNG files nowadays, and have for some time.

There is no 'Advanced' option at icloud.com. Is this a question of changing the default email address? I quote:

The iPad 2 cannot run Siri. It lacks a piece of hardware to make the software work. If the 2 could have handled Siri, it'd have gotten it a year ago.
And if you read the footnotes on the iOS7 release, you'll see that it clearly states that Siri is not on the 2.

Try uninstalling Adobe Acrobat using the Adobe cleaner Tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, try installing Adobe Reader XI. That should resolve the problem.

Why do I not get the checkout option when clicking on the document link in the SharePoint workflow task?

We are trying to use workflows to review and edit pdf files in sharepoint 2010. We are having a couple of issues and am hoping someone has the answer.....
1) When myself and coworkers click on the pdf document in the library, we get the check out option as expected. However when we click on the document link in a workflow task (on the sharepoint site), the pdf opens as a temporary file and we do not get the check out option. Why does this happen?????
2) The same thing happens when we click on the document link in the workflow task email; HOWEVER, one of our co-workers does get the check out option when clicking on the link in the email task. Why would she get the checkout option using the email and not when clicking on the link in the task list on the sharepoint site ???? We have compared our internet settings and adobe settings to ours and found no differences.
We are using Sharepoint 2010, Windows 7, IE8, Adobe Reader X or XI. Some of us have Adobe Pro X and have the same issues.

No the person who can check out using the link in the email has the same permissions as me. We have looked at all kinds of settings, profile etc and nothing evident can be determined to explain the reason. However, one difference we did notice is that this person does not have a default web browser set and thus when clicking on items to open, it always pops up a dialog box asking which program to use to open it with. This person chooses Adobe Reader and it opens on the Sharepoint server as it should and she gets the checkout option in a dialog box just like clicking on the document in the library. My theory is that this step of choosing the program to open with is interrupting the typical way a pdf file is handled when clicking on URL links to the document, which is…. it is opened as temporary internet file rather than on the Sharepoint server. Hopefully someone can figure this out ☺

Why is the "show fast user switching" option grey?

My MacBook has only ever had one account on it until now. I noticed that the Fast User Switching option wasn't showing up in my menu bar, so I went to System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options to enable it. However, the option to "Show fast user switching menu" is grey and I cannot select the checkbox next to it. Yes, I am using an admin account and yes, I have clicked the lock to make changes in the Accounts preferences pane.

I have the same problem- I have three accounts on this machine.
The option is greyed out. I tried zapping PRAM, and restarts but no joy.
It coincided with a forced shut-down after an HP update installation hung all day on one of the accounts. "turning off may harm your computer"...
Any clues to a fix would be welcome.

Why does my iPad lose wireless printer options when my Mac shuts down or sleeps?

If my Mac sleeps or is shut down, my iPad doesnt' show any ptinter options. Neigher does my wife's iPad. What do we do to enable both iPads to show our wireless printers regardless of our Macs being powered down?

A shutdown can happen for lots of reasons, but given the history of your device, it's wise to visit your Apple Store. The issue may lie with an improper repair, but it may also be that there's other damage that happened as result of the shattered screen. The RAM may be damaged, as well.
Back up your data. Perform a soft reset, just in case that works. If not, visit your friendly Apple Store/Genius Bar. And please post with the results.

Why do I not see the "More" option when I click on Music?

After turning on home sharing, when I go to access my library directions say to click on Music>More>Shared. When I click on Music there is no More option on the screen. If I go into the store the More option just shows different styles of music.

For Home Sharing to work on an iDevice (iPod, iPad, iPhone) you must be logged in to the same wifi using the same Apple ID. Home sharing must be enabled in iTunes on your computer and iTunes must remain open. On your iDevice > Settings > Music > Home Sharing > enter Apple ID and Password.

I have an Ipod 1st gen, and I can't seem to make an Apple ID without giving my credit card number. I even looked up how to make one without the credit card number, but it doesn't show up as an option when i follow the instructions. Help anyone?

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is apparently critical. This seems to come and go, or only apply to App Stores in specific countries, so you may not see the option for "None" when asked for a payment type.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free content without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Can someone tell me why every I have to reset my options when a new version of Firefox is released?

So I just installed the latest version, and I had to reset Tabs on Top to false, reset my font because the default is too small for me to see well, reset how I want PDF documents handled (I do NOT want them to open in the browser), and a few other nitpicky things. Is there some reason these preferences cannot be retained between updates?

Prefs should be retained between updates and not get lost.
Do you have nay numbered prefs-##.js file in the Firefox profile folder?

In finder > all my files > there are files that have been put in trash yet they show up when I delete them it wants me to fix alias but won't work because the file has been deleted

Have you tried to drag the alias to the desktop?
When you look at an alias, what folder is it stored in? If you highlight it, it should show the information in the path bar at the bottom of the finder window. If the path bar isn't visible, click on View and select show path bar.
You may try to repair permissions using disk utility and see if that helps.

Why CC Panel Show Muse CC as installed when it´s not?

That´s what´s happening. I don´t have Muse and any trace of it neither but still showing in CC Panel as installed and up to date. And in consecuence I can´t install Muse CC. Please help!!!!

This is an ongoing issue with Adobe Application Manager which causes it at times to not sync with Adobe Muse when it is uninstalled. I see that Adobe Muse is also not listed as a program in your Programs and Features window to uninstall any remnants of the same.
