Why doesnt macbook pro bluetooth connect to android? they are paired but keeps dropping out.

I am attempting to download a photo from android phone to macbook pro. they are paired, they recognise and connect for half a second then drops out. Macbook works with other apple devices just not devices from different companies.
is this common a problem?
It doesnt just work!!

You have to enable bluetooth sharing to receive files to your mac
Here are detailed instrcutions on how to do that.

  • How do I resynchronize my iPhone and MacBook Pro bluetooth connection?

I accidentally had my iPhone "forget" my MacBook Pro bluetooth connection, and I need it to reappear to resynchronize. My iPhone shows up as discoverable on my MacBook Pro, but it is not connected. When I have my bluetooth on on my iPhone 4S, the MBP doesn't appear in the list of my bluetooth devices.

You can sync using iTunes  >   iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes  (via USB)
Or wirelessly using iCloud >  Apple - iCloud - All your content on all your devices.

Are they taking space in all of these locations?
It depends on how you are using iPhoto and Aperture.
iPhoto and Aperture each create their own library files, and the default location for them is in /users/youruseraccount/Pictures
You can configure iPhoto and Aperture to use the same Library file, in which case your photos are only stored once.  But if you are using iPhoto & Aperture with independent library files, you may in fact be duplicating your storage.
The second consideration is whether or not you have configured iPhoto and/or Aperture as reference libraries, in which case their library files only reference photos you have stored in other places on your hard drive.  Setting them up as reference libraries does not duplicate the photos inside the library files.

  • Macbook pro not connecting wirelessly to HP officejet 8650 but other mac devices connect fine

I have Verizon FIOS and I just upgraded my router to a new one that Verizon sent me in the mail. I changed the wifi password on all my devices after installing the router and they are all connected, however now my macbook pro won't connect to the wireless printer. My ipad will connect with the printer, so the printer is connected. My macbook pro is definitely online since I get internet, but it won't see the printer. I called Verizon and they basically said "it should work".
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I don't have my macbook in front of me but from mmory,  I think you open preferences and select printers/devices and then there should be an option to search for wireless printers.
In the past when I've had a similar problem, i found that connecting with a USB helped re-established the connection.

  • Macbook Pro bluetooth connection to iPhone 4.

I just purchased a Macbook Pro (latest edition) and it will not establish a bluetooth connection with my iPhone. Keep receiving the following error: The bluetooth network is unavailable... I check the phone and I have the bluetooth turned on. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Unfortunately, although you can Pair the iPhone with your MBP it only offers a limited range of functions and you can't connect to it as a network device. Don't ask me why Apple have crippled it this way ...
Mine connects happily to my GPS and two helmet headsets and, while it's been paired and shows:
    AVRCP Device
    Audio Source
    Handsfree Gateway
    PAN Network Access Point
    Phonebook
    PnP Information
    Service Discovery
    Wireless iAP
It always comes up "Blutooth Network Not Available" when I try and connect.
You should be able to pair if you run Bluetooth setup Assistant though ?
If you're after 'tethering' i.e using the iphone as your Internet access then this is dependent on your ISP allowing/enabling it. On the iPhone open Settings/Network and turn Personal Hotspot On and it will show you the password for connection. On the MBP (System Preferences/Network) you will then see 'yourname's iPhone' as a connection option for your current location and you can enter the password there - but be aware that carrier data charges and plan limits will apply! My 2GB mobile plan data gets eaten very quickly this way.

  • Macbook Pro Bluetooth connection proglems to a Motorola Razor on Cingular

HELP - I have not been able to connect my Macbook Pro to my Motorola Razor on Cingular. What happens is the computer connects to the phone and you see the number show up on the phone LCD but none of the modem scripts will continue on so there is a dial tone ....
It's like everything works except for the fact that the modem script cannot make the phone get a dial tone before it tries to connect.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
to use the modem as a modem, you first need a so called LAPTOP CONNECT data plan from Cingular and then use either the modem scripts and manual settings or try the demo of launch2net at http://www.launch2net.com to connect to the Internet.
Dial-Up: This requires Cingular to support GSM Data calls and as far as I know, they do not support this any more.

  • My MacBook Pro internal speakers sound like they are playing through the headphone jack, why is this? How can I fix it?

Periodically, the sound from my MacBook Pro speakers cuts out to where it sounds as if I am just blasting music through a pair of headphones.  The start up sounds and even some normal sounds coming from my computer are at the regular balanced speaker level.  I sometimes use external speakers and have not had this problem with them.  This has been happening more and more lately, and for longer periods of time. I'm running 10.7.5

What frame rate/frame size/codec did you record?
How did you transfer it into FCX?

  • Can I buy apple MacBook pro from whole sellers as they are a lot cheaper ?

One guy was giving a MacBook pro 15 inch for $500 should I go for it ?

    aashir.ali12 wrote:
He is a whole seller from uk and he has sent me great pics of the laptop and he says that is is an original apple product
Sounds like a scam if he's claiming to be a wholesaler, $500 is too low for a new Mac.
Perhaps it's a used machine, broken on the inside or the pics are not what your going to recieve, still a scam. IMO.
If your buying this off eBay, use  Escrow.com
    https://www.escrow.com/index.asp
What you can do here is send your money to Escrow.com, get the product and check it out, if it's fine then you release the money.
Escrow.com works with both parties to ensure a safe transaction and you get what your supposed to get.
Of course there could be a scam where they send you the $500 machine, then you return it and they claim you broke it, doubt they would bother to make a courts claim but it's possible, so you should add postal insurance for damage both ways.
Download the free MacTracker and check the claims of the machine your going to recieve with it's value on this site.

I used to connect wifi now I cannot. Why? Need to obtain new IP address and how ?

Hi Ole, and a warm welcome to the forums!
It could be a HW problem, but does it get many black bars in the Airport icon?
    See if this helps hers...
    Go to System Preferences
    Click Network
    Highlight AirPort and click Configure...
Choose “By default, join: Preferred networks”
Select her access point(s) and Remove all her access point with the minus button.
Launch her keychain access in Utilities and delete her access point keychain entry.

  • I just recieved an iPad mini iOS 7 and currently use an Android 2.2 phone which I would like to share stuff by way of bluetooth. It says that they are paired, but won't connect. Are they not compatible? Or is there some app that makes it work?

I have been able to pair them, but they wont' connect. Is there a compatibility issue? Or is there some app that I can get to make it work?

iOS does not support file sharing over BT. To the best of my knowledge, there are no apps that will allow sharing from iOS to Android over BT but, I could be wrong.
You can use a service such as DropBox. Or just email things.
    Best of luck.

  • Faster connection but keeps dropping out.

    Hi,
The other day we recieved a home hub 3 as we finally took out a new contract with BT for broadband (been with them many years but were just on a rolling contract with an old home hub 1).
Connected it up all fine and initially worked well. Then we started not being able to connect even though our devices were connected to the home hub fine and the broadband light was blue on the home hub. After a while the connecton would suddenly come back, then go off again an hour or so later.
After doing a speed test I realised we were now getting about 14mb download speeds whereas previously we were getting 6. After looking round it seems we've been upgraded to ADSL2? Are these drops in connection with the broadband light still blue normal for this 'training period' I've read about?

Hi yes you are in a 10 day line training period and during this time disconnections can be expected while the exchange equipment finds the best. Possible speed and stability of connection of your line
