If you look at the other tread about transform Again and smart Object layers you will find I found there seems to be two flavors of Transform and some bazar behaviors when it come to smart object layers. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4611500#4611500
However for this problem here I think I can not show you how to do it.
First target the smart filters Mask. In fact so you can see what is happening Alt+Click on it so Photoshop displays the mask rather then the the composit image. Then use Ctrl+T free transform then just for a test hold down the Ctrl and the Alt keys and drag in a cornor to constrain and srink the Mask thee release the keys and press enter to commit the transform.
Next target the smart object layer then use the short cut Ctrl+Shift+T (Transform Again) on a PC the smart object layer will be transformed to match the filter mask transform.

I am going to get a used 2008-2009 macbook pro, I am wondering if I can update it to work like a brand new macboook?

I currently have a Dell computer that I have had for a few years and I don't like it. I want to get the macbook pro 15" but they are out of my budget. I think the best option would be a used one probably from 2008-2009. I'm hoping that I can update the software so it works like a brand new macbook. And in the fall, will I be able to update it to Yosemite? Please let me know if you know of any other ways to get a macbook cheaper.

Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

See the above for what you need if you want to run Mavericks or Yosemite. I would recommend sticking with a 2009 model. Avoid the 2010 models because they have had awful GPU failure issues. Late 2011 is a pretty reliable model. Stick with models that will accept at least up to 8 GBs of RAM. This should include all that I have suggested.
You can upgrade the HDDs and/or add an SSD, but you can't change the CPUs or GPUs, so they will not be as fast as a new model.

Why isn't the filter working?

I get annoying spam in the Spam Detector from a sender that I will refer to as XYZ for this question. Using Settings/Email Settings/Filters, I added a new filter "If From Contains XYZ delete" and saved the new filter. Today I got another spam in the Spam Detector from the same XYZ sender. Why isn't the filter causing this email to be automatically deleted? Thanks for any suggestions.

I think that the Spam Detector runs before your custom filters, and custom filters only work on the inbox folder. If Spam Detector moved it from the inbox before the filters were run, then the filter wouldn't delete it.

Does Keyboard Express run purely externally (just sends hotkeys to Firefox) or does it have an add-on? You can check to make sure any add-ons are enabled on the Add-ons page. Here's how:

If anything here is related to Keyboard Express, trying change it from "Ask to Activate" to "Always Activate". This might not take full effect until the next time you exit and start Firefox up again.

If an extension is disabled, it appears at the end of the list on a gray background. If you find one related to Keyboard Express, you can use the Enable button to re-enable it. If Firefox will not allow that, you may need to update the extension.

Why does it take over 30minutes for my brand new MacBook Pro to sign me in?

I purchased a macbook pro 2 days ago. I am not familiar with mac's, but the first day it worked fine, but after i shut it down and attempted to start it up again it takes forever. The computer starts up and i enter in my password, but then the screensaver screen just stays on and doesn't actually log me in until about 45minutes later. When it does actually log me into the main screen with the deck, it freezes up if i click on anything. This is a brand new computer, why is this happening?!

This is very unusual. A normally operating Macbook Pro should have you signed in and running in well under 60 seconds from cold boot.
Most likely is that the software installation on you machine has been corrupted. It's not possible to efficiently work through all the possible problems over the forum. The root causes can range from a bad preference file up to a corrupted file system. Because your are a very new user and the problems are so severe, my approach to your situation would be to completely erase your drive and reinstall OSX and your applications from scratch. That way you eliminate nearly all variables.
A more conservative approach would be to fix permissions on the drive and/or repair the drive using disk utility (after booting from the OSX install disc) That MAY fix things, but if things are this bad, AND you are new on the machine and presumably don't have much work saved on it anyway, I'd just start anew.
This is very unusual for a Mac. Typical reliability on my Mac's lets me keep some up and running without reboot for 6 months. Yours is definitely in a bad state.

The audio device is not working in my brand new hp

I bought the pavilion f4j02la and after 10 days of using it, out of the blue, the sound speaker on the desk appeared with an "x" as if I had put mute on it. It appears to be no device no more and the automatic "help" that searchs for the problem and then fixes it, says that it can't fix anything and that probably one or more audio services are not being executed. It is still brand new.
So far i've tried downloading a bunch of new drivers, uninstalling the ones I already had, restarted the computer, erased evertything I had and try to set it back as when I just bought it... and this support hp is unreacheble.
I'm all the way to Germany where I just found out they are not in the market... so, if anyone has any idea how can I fix this I will really really appreciate it.

Spotlight has stopped working on my brand new iMac

I've had my new 17" Intel iMac for one day...and Spotlight has all of a sudden stopped working.
It happened when I connected the G4 iMac to the new one but before I even accessed the G4. I tried to search for "Migration" using Spotlight and it didn't work. The 2 Macs were not even communicating yet so the old one could not have corrupted the new one.
Any ideas on how I can get SL to work again? I've done some searches but don't really understand what the solutions are. There are no files at all on my iMac as it is brand new. All I have done is use Safari and iTunes.

The thing to remember about Spotlight on a new Mac is that it needs some time to itself to contemplate working for you, its new master, and to index your entire new HDD.
The Mac OS from the factory is a quick burn and Spotlight hasn't indexed anything. Plus it needs time to index new files that you begin installing. Until it indexes everything it won't work too well.

VPN does not works anymore (On brand new MiniServer)

We have just installed our brand new MacMini Server 10.7. Since then, we cannot connect from outside our LAN (at home, at others offices, ...) to our VPN (who run on the MacMini). Our clients are Apple Only (Mac, iPhone, iPad) and they use the "plain-vanila-Apple-VPN-Client".
The connection problem does not occur when the client is on the same subnet than the server.

There is no router between the server and the Internet : just an ADSL modem, no PPPoE or whatever, the WAN IP is set on the server directly. The firewall is activated (GRE, ESP, L2TP... ports are all open. Allowing all the traffic doesn't help. The client can connect to the server and the IPSec connection seem to be established, so I don't think the problem is here), and the Lion Server acts as a NAT (which by the way doesn't work as it was in SLS: it won't work for any local subnet different from 192.168.2.x??) for my local network. I tried to reinstall the system completely twice, with the same results.

I can't get my iChat to work on my brand new iMac.

I am trying to use my iChat on my brand new iMac intel. It looks like I have an account, but it is disconnected. And I can't seem to connect it...or find any resources online to explain why. Any ideas? Cheers, Erik

So in iChat > Preferences > Accounts you list something in addition to the Bonjour Account ?
If you click this account to Highlight and then make sure the account Info tab is the active one - is the "Use this Account" check box ticked ?
What message to you get if it isn't and you tick the box ?
What sort of an account is it ?
It will list AIM whether it is AIM, @mac.com or one from MobileMe.

Notes:
Apple allow passwords over 16 characters in registering for a MobileMe account and @mac.com names.
However the AIM servers can only make use of passwords up to 16 characters in length so you may have to shorten it.
In the pic you can see my Screen Name does not have a @something.com (it is a plain AIM name)
However at AIM you can also register Email address as Screen Names
GoogleTalk
If you have a email account with Google you can Enable Talk as an Option of your Google Account page.
This will let you chat in the Google Mail Web page.
You can also use this name in iChat.
However you must enter the name as it appears on any Google page when you are logged in.
So if you are [email protected] it should be entered that way. Same for an @gmail.com ending. (The Mail app does not seem to mind but iChat does - well the Talk server does)
Other Jabber accounts/IDs
Like AIM valid Names you have to have registered from a Jabber ID with a server before you get to enter it in iChat.
With these Jabber accounts the iChat app will presume the server name is the last part after the @ (they look like email addresses)
So in this case if you are [email protected] iChat will extract the aJabberServer.Com to Move to the Servers settings tab info.
(The exception is Google which is also a Jabber server).

Why has the battery prematurely died on my brand new (2013 model) MacBook Pro?

Purchased a brand new MacBook Pro 15 inch only two weeks ago. Only for it to have suddenly shut itself off today. Mavericks now tells me the battery needs replacing and isn't charging. The MacBook will obviously only now work when plugged into a power supply, and the moment you remove the Magsafe adapter it shuts off. I do have an appointment to have it looked at on Monday next week, but has anyone else come across this, and know of any fixes I can do at home that don't involve me destroying my warranty?

Why doesnt my EXIT button work ??

Help - I've made a menu in Menubuilder and the slides play
fine - buttons on the playbar work EXCEPT the EXIT button. Can
