Why doesnt my first generation accept apps?

I had a third generation Itouch which recently broke and just decided to not work. I don't have a cell phone right now because I cant get a job anywhere and I decided that I would download the textfree app that I used for my old Ipod onto the first generation. The app doesnt even want to install in my Ipod. I went on pingers website and it said that I should be able to text on it but not make calls. That's all I need it for I dont need to make calls I just need to text but I CANT EVEN GET THE APP ON!!! WHY!!? I also cant check my email with the mail button thats in the home screen? what is this I mean I know theres a bunch of generations out there cuz I've owned 3 Itouches in total and they've all gone bad for the same reason but seriously I cant even use it anymore?! Help please.

You need to restore the Shuffle in iTunes first. Then sync all of your music stored in iTunes over to it. Or is that what you did?

The iPad 2 cannot run Siri. It lacks a piece of hardware to make the software work. If the 2 could have handled Siri, it'd have gotten it a year ago.
And if you read the footnotes on the iOS7 release, you'll see that it clearly states that Siri is not on the 2.

First generation losing app support

I have a 64GB first generation iPad and yet another app (NBC) has informed me that they won't support that operating system. It's disappointing that an otherwise working peice of technology is slowly being reduced to a digital frame. Shouldn't Apple offer a buy back or exchange program? Since the operating system is the only reason for making it obsolete. Or should I just unload it on some unsuspecting eBay buyer? Then again, it makes a great digital frame.

Why does my first generation iPad crash everytime I use it?

Consistently everytime I'm using one of my apps and or on safari my iPad crashes? I just recently updated to ios5 but I was having the problem previously as well? My iPad doesn't shut off completely it it will close me out of the app about 3-5 times everytime I use an app? Can anyone help me figure out the problem?

I Had an iPad first generation and I can't find app under iOS 5.......why And sometime m'y IPad close alone.

Apple requirements now ask to make them for iOS 7 and above. iPad 1 has become outdated and there are barely, if any, apps available for this device.
If your iPad restarts on it's own, try restoring to factory settings.

What iOS is curently on your iPod (Setting>Genral>About>Version) you need as lest 2.0 for apps but most apps need 3.0 or later.

HT5527 Why is it that when I bought my first generation iPad in October of 2010 the Apple sales rep at the Orange County California store suggested that I pay $99 for Mobile Me "coverage" and told me it was a "one time charge".

Why is it when I bought my first generation iPad in October 2010 the sales rep at the Orange County California South Coast Plaza store suggested that I buy Mobile Me service for $99 which he assured me was a one time charge and now, of course, Mobile Me has been discontinued and I've been "forced" to move to the Cloud and I'm being provided with another year of what Apple calls complimentary service with the clear indication that in a year I'm going to be asked to pay again for something I paid a one time charge for two years ago?

Mobile Me was the successor to .Mac (dot mac) which was "free" to all users but for a limited time. It included a free email address @mac.com and an amount of what we would now call "cloud" storage that went by the name of iDisk. iDisk worked great but with only dialup service for me it was barely useful.
So I didn't think much of dot-mac but lots of people thought it was worth paying for, so they did. Apple wanted to make it even more useful and integrate it with their portable devices which we all know as iPads and iPhones, and assembled a team to make it all work. This was to be called Mobile Me.
They failed miserably. Lots of people including me looked at the final product and said "huh?" Unfortunately for the Mobile Me engineers, one of those people was Steve Jobs. He first humiliated them quite publicly, then disbanded the team, including firing at least one senior manager who shall remain nameless.
This was the rocky beginning of what is now called iCloud, which is the "free" service I should have explained. iCloud includes an email address @me.com, and the 5 GB of "storage" which aggregates things like iWork documents, your email, calendars, Photostream, and iPhone backups.
You can buy more storage if you need more than 5 GB, but if you have more than that it's still free through September 2013.
What happens if you have more than 5 GB stored on iCloud and on September 2013 you don't pay? I'm not sure, but you have a year to think about it.

Your 1G iPod Touch cannot be upgraded past iOS 3.1.3. Many apps that are available in the App Store not require a higher version of iOS (such as iOS 4) in order to be compatible with your device. So if an app requires a higher version of iOS than what is supported by your iPod Touch, you will not be able to sync or download that app to your device. Sorry.
