Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why won't ipod connect to internet?

I got my ipod touch like about 3 weeks ago, and I've never been able to get it to connect to the wireless network in my house. I created an unsecured wireless network via ad hoc, and the ipod connects to the network perfectly. On the ipod, it shows that it has full bars, yet everytime I try to access safari, youtube, or any other application that requires internet, it either says that it can't access the server, or that it's not connected to internet.
I've 'forgotten' the network, reset the ipod touch twice, reset the modem, and now I really don't know what to do.
On the DHCp section, this is what appears on the ipod-
    IP Address- 192.168.0.162
    Subnet Mask- 255.255.255.0
    Router- 192.168.0.1
    DNS- 192.168.0.1
    Search Domains- mshome.net
And these are the properties of the Network on my comp.
    IP Address- 192.168.0.162
    Subnet Mask- 255.255.255.0
    Preferred DNS Server- 192.168.0.1
Is this out of the norm or something? What should I do to fix this problem? ... I could also still return the ipod since I only got it a couple weeks ago.

Now it is, b/c I just set the network to obtain an IP address and DNS Server automatically (which i guess somehow enabled DHCP), however, because of that, the network settings that had appeared on my ipod changed.
Now in the DHCP section it states -
    IP Address- 169.254.137.115
    Subnet Mask- 255.255.0.0
All the rest of the spaces are empty.
... And the internet still doesn't work.

    Hey myvalentine,
The resolution depends on what method you're using to sync your iTunes content to your iPod. If I were you, I'd start fresh and go through the following article, choosing which method works best for you and reading through the instructions:

  • Why can't I connect to internet on my ipad since updating to 8.3 even thought I am in sync with itunes?

Why can't I connect to the internet on my ipad 2 since I updated to 8.3? ITunes indicated ipad is in sync and my wfi is working.

On your iPad, go into Settings --> Wifi. Does your iPad indicate your device is on a wireless network?
If so, can you verify your wireless network is correctly functioning?
If not, connect your device to a wireless network. If the iPad refuses to connect to a wireless network. Go into Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset All Network Settings. If done correctly than you will NOT loose any data while reseting your network settings. After the reset, go back into wifi settings and attempt to connect to a wireless network.

  • Why doesnt my ipod not connect to other device through bluetooth

Why doesn't my ipod touch 4g connect with other devices through bluetooth ?

Because the iPod does not have the necessary BT profiles to do that. You can pair with another iOS device via BT via some apps that for peer-to-peer gaming.
You can also use apps for limited file transfer between iOS devices like this app:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id590369016?mt=8
Without apps you can pair to newer iPhones to share there interent connection if you have subscribed for sharing with your carrier

  • Why isnt my ipod connecting to wifi?

It says its connect and it has full bars but nothing connecting on it? i dont know what it is becasue my internets working fine its just on my ipod and it worked ealier but it wont now. usually this doesnt last for more than 5 minutes its been an hour.. help!!

Okay, go to your wifi settings on the ipod, then where it says "choose network" go to "other" (forget the fact that your network name may already be listed) and type the name of your network in there. Then, go to "security" and choose the type of security you have setup for your wifi.  For instance, mine is WPA2 Personal so I chose "WPA2" from the list.  Then click back one screen where you entered your network name. You will now see it prompting you for a password.  This is NOT your wifi password but rather the long key generated when you setup your router. I have a Linksys router and my password is 10 characters long.  After you've entered this, your device should connect to your wifi.

  • Why cant my ipod connect to my wifi?

I was on my ipod one day using the internet and it just stopped. i noticed that i was not connected to my wifi anymore. i thought that maybe it was because my mom has not paid for it. but my brother could connect to it. my laptop also can connect to it. (i am on it right now) but i cannot connect my ipod to it. the network doesnt even show up....what do i do?

Did you try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
Also try to reset all network settings in Settings/General/Reset.
