Why don't all applications show up in application switcher?

I've got about 8 apps running on my Mac Pro running the latest version of Snow Leopard, doing my usual thing, uploading a file with Filezilla, tracking expenses in Quicken Essentials, viewing changes in the weather with WeatherDock, managing fonts in LinoType Font Explorer, surfing in Firefox, making edits in TextEdit and running MagicJack for my home phone. When I tried to use the application switcher (command tab) to see my open apps and check on my file upload, Filezilla and most of my other apps don't show up (only WeatherDocl, Font Explorer and MagicJack). Hovering over the dock, those same apps do not show the white glowing ball under the icon to show they're active, but they ARE open and running. Force Quit sees them all. This is a weird development. Anyone else seen this? I would restart, but I don't want to suspend my uploading file.

If Facebook have support page or forum you would perhaps get answers there.
I don't use Facebook so that's about the best advice I can give.

Find my iPod question - Why don't all devices show?

I have an iPad and two iPod Touch's, all running IOS5, with the iCloud setup etc under the one Apple/Cloud sign in. The Find my iPod/Pad app will only show the iPad and one iPod Touch - not two. The setup on the Touch's is identical, I have googled the 'g' key off my keyboard and done all the troubleshooting/support recommendations suggested. Anyone got any good ideas/soultions?

Why don't all objects show in ObjectDataProvider list?

Because I'm having troubles with the "Cannot change transaction isolation level in the middle of a transaction" and PostgreSQL thing (another topic in this forum), I decided to see if I could use an ObjectDataProvider instead.
So I dropped an ObjectDataProvider on the page, and when I go to select the object to bind to from the list provided in the properties, not all of my objects in SessionBean1 are there to select? Some are, some aren't. As far as I can tell, the object I'm looking for follows all of the JavaBean conventions, although it does extend another class. That parent class also follows the JavaBean conventions, and I even tried to add one of those as a test (so there was no "extending" involved) and it doesn't show on the list either. I compared these to other objects I have written that do show up on the list and cannot see any obvious difference.
Does anyone know the rules an object must comply with in order to show up in this list?
Anyone seen this? Have any ideas?

Hi, Paul.
Are the classes of the properties that are not showing up on your SessionBean, ones that you've created in the same project? If so, you need to move them to another project and import the JAR file into your current project. You might want to look at the Movie Admin sample app: it does this.

Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged?

I love the idea of tags. I use them religiously in Lightroom to organize and recall my photos. The one thing that makes tags ineffective though is the amount of effort it takes to enter them. But being a true believer of the value I do it. That being said, the way Apple has implemented tags is driving me nuts.
I create a document
I click save
I enter a name and
I enter tags - BTY I wish I could expand the tagging window to see all the tags I have entered and all the tags that are available
Later I make changes to my document and I want to add tags so I selected save as
PROBLEM - All the tags that I previously saved with this document are gone. I have to renter them. This is horrible!
Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged? Is there anyway to get my Mac to recognize that I previously tagged this file and display my tags?
If not, APPLE PLEASE FIX SOON.

Why don't my episodes show up (everywhere)?

I've recently uploaded my rss feed (xml file) to my server and also through itunes to be listed in the podcasts.
The first time I did it I just tested one episode for the podcast which was successful. The second time, I added 4 more epispodes to the feed and uploaded it to my server. Trying to sedn the new one through iTunes I just got a message saying that the feed had already been uploaded - fine.
Now when I go to the podcast in the music store, only one episode shows up, but if I subscribe, they all show up in my Podcast library as available for download.
Why don't all of the episodes show up in the music store for individual download?
I am using Podcaster software to create my feeds.

I can confirm that I am experiencing the exact same issue. It has been bugging me for several days and I couldn't find any current info about this problem until I found your post.
I've done some experimenting. If I use a computer to upload a photo with a status update, it will appear in the newsfeed. When I use my iPhone with the Facebook app, the photo and update will appear on my wall, but not in the feed. If I just upload text from the iphone app, it will appear in the newsfeed. I was using the newest version of the app for a while without realizing this issue.
Also, I always set my newsfeed to "most recent" so that I am not just seeing the "most popular."

I have the same problem transfering Address book on iMac to contacts on iPhone (old version 3G - on iCloud). this is a hard wired connection

Might you have 200 entries in On My Mac groups and some of your appointments in On My Mac calendars?

You can either leave it in the Inbox or move it to one of the non-greyed out folders. If you havn't got any non-greyed out ones then if your email account is an IMAP one then you should be able to login to your account on a browser and create new folders there, and they should then appears in the Mail app. If it's a POP type account then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.
You can also, for example, copy-and-paste it into another app e.g. if it's plain text you could copy-and-paste it into Notes

There are few things you can check. Most of the Hotels use "splash" login page when you go online you have to accept their TOS. If you don't do that connection does not exist, even if you see wifi simbol. Verify that both devices are connected to wifi. Also you want to make sure that camera app of your iphone is turned off and phone is charged over 20 %.
Do simple test. When you on wifi take a new photo and open your photostream album on the same phone. If you see that photo show up in there in few min (takes 2 to 5 on fast connection) then you need to check your ipad and if it does not show there - check the charge and go online on ipad. Once you verify you can access Internet - see if photo shows up in photostream on the ipad. If you get problem in any step of that process- come back and we ll work througth the rest.
That test will allow to check if photostream works at all, if the problem is intermittent - like you described, when you on good wifi it should rectify itself(it has 30 days to do that), but you want to make sure that those pictures do get in photostream album of your iphone.

Why don't some apps show up in my ITOUCH screen?

I have a couple of apps that I have had on my Itouch 3rd gen for quite a while. One day after I synced, they no longer showed up anywhere. The apps are still on the ITouch but I have to go to the search screen and type their name in order to access the program. When I go into Itunes, they appear on the apps screen, I can drag the icon around there and try to put it onto different pages with no problem, but when I sync, they still do not appear in my iTouch. Why would their icons not show up all of a sudden? I have tried reinstalling the apps several times and the same problem occurs. Thank you for your help.

Why don't my iPhoto albums appear in iTunes not all of them and not complete so I can download them to iPad or iPhone. Only some of them transfer over to iTunes.

There was a bug in the first version of the iBooks app that prevented it from moving all the books in the iTunes library to the new app. In my library, only two books didn’t get moved, but I’ve heard from people who lost dozens or even hundreds of books.
These books should still be on your computer. If you haven’t done so, open the App Store app, click Updates, and download the iBooks 1.0.1 update. Launch iBooks, then choose File > Move Books from iTunes. This should move the remaining books to iBooks.

Why aren't all photos showing up under "Photos" in iPhoto?

I have noticed that not all photos show up when I have "Photos" selected in the Library on the left. There are photos I just imported from my iPhone and they show up when I select "Last import" or "Last 12 months" but not unter "Photos". Any ideas what is wrong here and how to fix this?
(btw. I have no hidden photos)

I am running the latest iPhoto and OS X

If the Photos are under 'Last Import' or 'Last N Months' then they are in the Library somewhere, just not where you are expecting them to be. We know this as both Lat Import and 'Last N Months' are not places, just listings of elements in the the Library.
The two most common reasons that they can't be found is either an incorrect date on the camera or the Sorting (View Menu -> Sort Photos - or Sort Events, as appropriate) has changed.
Quick route to find them: Right-click on one of the images in Last Import and select 'Show Event'. This will bring you to the image in the Library.

I have five movies that I purchase from the iTunes Store in my iTunes library. They all show up on Apple TV except for "Fantastic Mr. Fox" which does not. Any guesses why not?

If this is a silver AppleTV ensure the checkbox next to the Movie in the main library media categories is ticked.
If not, could it have been purchased under a different AppleID?

Why don't all my iTunes Library songs show up in my music folder

I have a lot of music in iTunes (16,000 plus songs) and they are stored on a LaCie external hard drive. Just recently I discovered that when I click on the file folder where all the music is stored, only files starting with A through B are listed. I can play anything in iTunes ~ nothing is missing, but the list of music when looking at the file with Windows Explorer is incomplete.
The reason this is of concern is because I am trying to back-up my music to DVDs (just for safe keeping in case of a hard drive crash). I have tried to do this several different ways, but nothing has worked. I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that maybe the directory of this large folder holding all my music files is incomplete or corrupted. If I run the Windows Back-up program on the folder, it acts as if only the A - B files are there and only creates a back-up of them. I know the rest exists because I can play them from iTunes. We are talking over 55 gigs of files that are not listed.
I am trying to back-up my library, but I think there is an underlying problem that is causing whatever method I try to fail. Is there anyone out there who can explain what is going on?
My question is two fold:
Why doesn't the list of songs in iTunes match the contents of my music folder?
How can I creat backup DVD's of 60 gigs of music?

Is that not a way to relocate the files? In other words, I have 16,000 plus songs in iTunes and they are all playable. They must be on my external hard drive in the file I have named "Art's Music" (verified by the check you suggested in your first reply). Let's assume that I want to put them all on a different external hard drive (my C drive is not big enough). What steps should I use to relocate my entire library? I am going to borrow a friend's unused hard drive for this and then put it back on my hard drve after I reformat it.

When I hook my ipod classic up in my car (audi), many of the songs/artists that otherwise appear on the ipod don't show up on the car's audio interface?

One thing that would be worth investigating is the differences between the tracks that do appear in your car's audio interface and the ones that don't. You'll need to do this via iTunes by right->clicking on tracks and choose Get Info and looking at the Summary tab. Perhaps it's that your car only recognizes MP3 files and not any other audio format such as iTunes AAC files.
