Why don't contacts on my iPod display correctly?

I'm using iSync to transfer my iMac's Address Book's contacts to my iPod. When checking on my iPod's Contacts menu I notice some of the images (high res jpg's) used for the profiles look weird, whereas on Address Book look perfect...
Any idea? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies and help. Since I was taking pictures of the same image in both color and B&W, I didn't know that the B&Ws were being imported in color and didn't catch it. If they were of a different scene, I would have caught it. So, I just learned something about RAW files! Thanks again! Gotta walk before you can run.

Why don't contact names show up on my messages?

I just got the lastest update for my iPhone 4s (which I've only had for 2 days now), and now when I get messages sent to me, I only see the phone number, not the contact's name. However, when I get an alert, it does have the contact name. This isn't a huge deal, but it is annoying. Any suggestions that might fix this?

I still haven't found a good explanation why this capability was lost. I keep finding postings saying that track names cannot be stored on CDs. Apparently other long-time iTunes users besides me remember being able to burn CDs and having the track information be retained. (Perhaps we were burning MP3 CDs; would these have the track info?) All I know is I used to burn audio CDs to play in my non-MP3 car stereo for years and when I would put that same CD into a computer the names would appear. This was how I would back up purchased CDs and also prepare music for lessons, so having the names was not optional.
If it was just me, I'd assume I was remembering incorrectly, but it's not the case.
My old mix CDs burned with track info, and now they don't.
Gift CDs other people burned for me had track names, but new ones I make in iTunes9 don't.
I NEVER used to have to add track info manually.
Don't you think we would remember something that time-consuming and annoying? Something has changed and I would like a better explanation than "no". I'd love to see info from iTunes 6 or 7.

Why don't some of my emails display any contents on the iPad?

Some of the emails only show the from/to header when I open them on the iPad, whereas when I open them on my android or my Mac their full contents display. Is there a fix for this? It is not all emails, only some, and they appear to be random, not like they had oversize attachments or anything strange.

That did it, thanks. Now they still don't.fully load but they do have links at the bottom to get the rest of the message.

Why don't songs appear on iPod?

I click and drag songs from itunes window into iPod window on my Mac. Then when I'm done and disconnect, they do NOT appear on the iPod, it's blank. Any ideas? I am running iTunes 7, Mac 10.3.9, with a brand new iPod, purchased Oct 11, 2006.

Dragging songs only works if you have selected to manually manage songs and videos? Have you?
Connect the iPod to the computer. When the iPod appears in iTunes, select it under Source (on the left) and click the summary tab. Make sure manually manage songs and videos is checked. Click Apply. Do not go and change any settings in the other tabs (for what is synced to the iPod), because doing so will enable automatic updating again.
When you drag the songs to the iPod, is iTunes showing that it is adding them (not just Updating iPod, but does it actually show the song names or 1 out of 10, for example)?
Are you adding all types of songs (from CDs), videos, purchased content, or what?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

When I try to dial from my Contacts those that have an extension will not go through. Trying adding # but still did not work.

Why don't Grapher's Frame Limits work correctly with saved Grapher files using multiple equations on Mountain Lion?

I generally enjoy using Grapher in OS X (I am using Mountain Lion v10.8.2). However, I have repeatedly encountered what seems to be broken basic functionality in setting the limits on the display frame (View> Frame Limits…). When opening saved Grapher files with multiple valid equations in them (equations which include constant terms defined as sets of numbers), I repeatedly get the following behavior:
1. Frame limits are not correctly saved. As in, the file opens with a different view than it was saved and closed in.
2. Frame limits no longer work as expected. For example, I might set the Y axis frame limits to be -2 to 2, but the Y axis of the frame display will run from about -1.95 to about -0.35.
3 Performance is degraded. Making a change to the frame limits (for ecxample, changing the Y frame limits to -2.2 and 5 in an attempt to display something approximating the range -2 to 2) take an inordinate amount of both processor time and clock time. The spinning ball appears and hangs out far longer than is welcome, and at times seems to hang requiring a force quit of Grapher.
These problems occur regardless of coordinate system.
Is there a solution? If I create a new file and start from scratch the problems reappear. The problems reappear across a wide range of 2D equation types.
Is Grapher simply broken in this regard?

When modifying the main 2D window size, the graph length and height already formatted (menu Format) are changed : axis scale values stay the same, added objects remain same size on the same places (unit pixel) relative to the graph left upper corner ; but the graph view changes for the ratio H/L do so : very annoying !
 The remedy : To restore the 2D graph after changing the window size : menu Format > Layout > Size > redo the initial choice (paper size or L and H values)… or avoid having to do so by selecting a window large enough to begin with.
 Proposed correction : making the graph size independent of the main window’s one.
 Bug nr. 2. (Grapher 1.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3). Saving is wrong in 2D (menu File > Save, Save as, Save a copy as). Are not seved : the last location on the screen of the main window, the graph size, the maximum and minimum values of the ordinate scale : very very annoying !
 Note : The new windows of Grapher 1.1 (Grapher secondary window > New Graph > 2D or 3D Graph) always open in the same place on the screen( OS X 10.4.11 configured in French) depending on the language used by Grapher : if it’s English, well placed and covering most of the screen, if it is French, the windows are half length but same height and are located on the right side of the screen. This anomaly disappeared with Grapher 2.0, 2.1, 2.2 (English or French).
 The remedy : to restore the 2D graph after opening a GCX files (.gcx) : menu Format > Layout > Size > redo the initial choice (Paper size or L and H values) to be done twice ; then menu View > Frame limits... > enter minimum and maximum vaues of the y scale. This requires to note four numerical values, L, H, y-min, y-max, for example at the top of the equation list (or at the bottom : see bug nr. 27).
 Proposed correction : complete saving in 2D.

Why are my contacts from yahoo not syncing correctly?

When I sync my contacts from Yahoo, they corrupt the entries on my iPhone 3GS. Some entries are duplicated, some data within enties are doubled or tripled, and some extra characters are inserted in the entry fields. The contacts won't copy to my iPad 2 at all. Is this an issue with Windows 7, Yahoo, iTunes, or? Is it possible to sync them accurately?

Thanks Meg, this works, at least in part. Now the Contacts app populated, but only with 99 contacts, hardly all of them. Do you know how to get all my Google contacts to sync?
Also, should I delete the Gmail account I had previously set up on the iPad now that I have set up as an Exchange account?

Why don't the volume annotation points read correctly?

I'm boggled by an issue Garageband has that even the people at the mac store around the corner from me can't seem to figure out
For Example-
If I make a volume annotation point without using the shift key for fine tuning and bring the volume down to, lets say -1.6 then the whole line will be -1.6 (as long as I don't make any other points of different volume) -1.6 is one of the default increments as you go down without fine tuning.
BUT
If I use the shift key to fine tune it down to -1.2 then go further to the right and make another point at -1.2...you'd think that the whole line in between those two points would be -1.2 (as long as there are no other annotation points that change the volume between those two)
YET, when I simply place a point in between those points the point will read to the default -1.6 NOT -1.2
It does this every time I try to fine tune the volume on any increment
So if I try to make a line at 0.9 and I put a point in between two 0.9 points, the point in the middle will read 1.2
So I don't know if the volume is really 0.9 or 1.2 on that section between the two end points

Duh, I meant upgrade FROM Snow Leopard to Lion.
Anyway, just upgraded to Mountain Lion and so far that seems to have resolved the issue. Fingers crossed...

Why doesn't the new Google maps display correctly?

When the new google maps site loads, it initially shows street lines and names but then they disappear. When entering addresses for directions the routes do not display at all.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden Menu bar.
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a check-mark then remove this check-mark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

Acrobat not displaying correctly in Win7 1920x1080 screen

Been puzzling over why Acrobat 9.4.1 doesn't display correctly on my new Dell laptop (D6550), i7 cpu, 1920x1080 display, WIN7 64 bit. Strange part is that it appears that the window overflows the top and right side of the screen a little, and that there is a DOUBLE header bar at the top, one with small icons and one with large ones, with one of them peaking through around the edges. Can't figure this one out, all other apps display correctly. Acrobat picture also looks a little blurry. Like I say, pretty strange, could find no "hooks" to adjust, nor any other reports like this on the forum. Anyone else run into this one?

Thanks for your response. This is an incredibly painful bug. I hope Adobe is a little more attentive than they usually are in fixing this. I have more than 100 interactive books which I must convert and maintain (they're our equipment manuals). Not having full functionality, especially given the cost of the software, is a serious issue. Any suggestions as to who needs to be contacted for follow up?

If it is a problem than I have it too. Mine does the
same as long as I don't stop the device via the
little green arrow icon (USB manager) down by the
clock.
I never really need to use the Ipod when it is hooked
into the PC because everything is done through
iTunes. I just thought it said "do not disconnect"
because it was associated with both iTunes and the PC
as a hard disk.
If I stop the device or "eject" the iPod, it goes
from do not disconnect to the normal menu tree.
So when you take the USB cable out of the iPod, it goes back to normal?
If that's what you mean, mine does that too.
It's just that I read that if you remove the USB cable from your iPod while it says 'do not disconnect', it can wipe all your music....
