Why don't I have enough memory on Nokia 6230?

Hi: I have a Nokia 6230 and sync it regularly with my computer. I have about 700 contacts and sync a relatively full calendar from one week ago to two weeks in advance. A to-do list also synchronizes. I regularly get the following error on my computer: [Nokia 6230] The phone calendar is full. Please delete some calendar events on your phone or change the filtering options and synchronize again. And, I regularly get a "to-do memory full" error on my phone. However, the memory status on my phone says: Phone: Free memory 6.1 MB Used memory 1.2 MB Memory card: Free memory 24.5 MB Used memory 5.9 MB Size 30.2 MB As you can see, both memories are only partially used yet I get constant errors regarding lack of memory. Contacts settings are set to use "Phone and SIM". Memory Status for Contacts reads Phone: 30% free, 70% used, SIM Card 250 free, 0 in use. How can I use the phone's memory more efficiently? Thanks,

Yes, Charlie is right. With any OS, the listed minimum RAM is always enough to just barely run it. In practice, this is rarely ever enough, because as soon as you add the demands of software etc it can't keep up. I am impressed you can manage at all, quite honestly. (Smiles)
What really impresses me, however, is that someone was actually selling computers with 1G of RAM 2 years ago.  Four years ago I bought a cheapish Windows laptop, and the choice was btwn 2 or 4G. I have since worn it out (did I mention cheap?), and have inherited a four year old MacBook Pro. It came stock with 2G, so I upped it to 4G. It walks like my grannie, and I do all my 'real' work on an iMAC with 16G. Most people these days buy 8G.
The problem you may have with upgrading is that your board is probably old, too. If you do purchase a new one, ask around in here regarding specs.. and don't buy one from the person who sold you that one! (chuckles)

  • Why don't I have enough storage?

    Hello,
Recently I've been trying to download an app that waste 1.36 GB. It will not let me download. It says I don't have enough storage to download. I checked and it says I have 3 GB available.
I have deleted everything except my music that waste 356 MB. I have deleted all my photos and it still says I have 38.7 MB for photo stream. There are no photos in photo stream.
That is all I have on my iPod. And it says I have 3.4 GB used. I find it odd because I only have 394.7 MB or am I wrong?
But, my iPod is not jailbroken.
I should be able to download the app that waste 1.36 GB and I have 3.0 GB available.
    Please help, thank you.

To free up the space Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Syncing with your conmputer
    - Restoring from backup.
To download/install an app you need about three times the files download size available on your iPod. For your 1.36 GB app that means about 4 GB.

  • Why don't I have enough access privlages?

I can't sync my phone.  A window pops up saying I don't have enough access privlages to perform the task. How do I gain access privlages to sync my phone?

Do you have administrator privileges on your computer?

  • If I have 2.1GB space avail, why don't I have enough storage?

Total storage:  5.0 GB, Available 2.1 GB.  Yet, when I try to update, there isn't enough storage space available to update.  WTH??

Just like it says, you do not have enough spce to update.
    Update via itunes.

  • Why don't I have enough permision

I seem to have not enough permission to save on to my desktop and many internal folders including my external harddrive.
I have already used Disk Utility and used Repair Disk Permission...
I'm a little reluctant to gut everything on my hard drive and reinstall the operating system.. or rebuilt the pram if thats causing it...
And as the Apple store told me to buy Diskwarrior instead of Norton this isn't helping much either...
I own a Powerbook G4 550Mhz running OS 10.3.9 and willnot upgrade as I like using OS9. I have a G5 which is running OS10.4 and this doesn't have enough permission either.
Any help would be gratefully received...

Under system preferences - accounts... I changed my name and short name and erased old user accounts.. (although should have reinstalled the OS and input my new username there).
Its just that when I transfer an illustration or animation onto a server or upload it to the net my username arrives within the file. No matter how hard you try to rename your username, on websites you can trace the original creator. Bit of pickle but its possible.
My trouble now is on my external server I have filled about 130GB's or my stuff thats all gone to 'unknown' and 'read only'... I've changed the ownership & permissions (cmd & I) to 'ignore ownership on this volume' and this still has no effect on permission...
I'm wasting time typing passwords just to copy my work from my laptop to my external when I'm the addministrator... (although I could login as ROOT)...
Many thaks again Matt and thanks 'euu' - I'll check the articles..

  • I have purchased additional iCloud space.  It shows I still have space, however my iPad mini shows I don't have enough space for the update for ios7.  My photos are in the cloud, I guess,  so why don't I have enough space?

If I delete photos on my iPad mini, can I still see them in iCloud storage?  How do I free up more space on my iPad  without removing photos?

If you delete photos from your iPad, they will also be deleted from iCloud and you'll lose them.  Also, having additional iCloud space won't give you any more space on your device.   You can't move any data to iCloud and delete it from your device.  All you iCloud data is also on you device, and if you delete it from your device, it is also deleted from iCloud.
One option to free up space for the update is to delete the music from your iPad, then sync it back using iTunes after you update.   (You can delete it all by going to Settings>General>Usage, wait for the apps list to open, then tap Music>Edit, then tap next to All Music.)
Also, if you purchsed the iCloud storage upgrade in the last 15 days thinking you chould use it to free up space on your iPad, you can call the Apple online store for your country and get a refund (1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S. and Canada.)

  • Why does itunes keep saying I don't have enough memory on my windows 8.1

When I am trying to download new songs, import a CD or trying to watch a TV segment on I tunes on my Samsung Laptop computer for Windows 8.1 and I keep getting messages saying I don't have enough memory and I also keep receiving messages that I'm not connected to the internet when I am. I have unplugged and replugged my connection but it keeps happening, I have checked for updates but don't need to, and have tried to troubleshoot it. When I went on line I kept being told this is an apple or i tunes problem. Please help

Do you back up to iCloud?  I'm assuming so since you asked about purchasing more storage.
Check Settings > General > Usage on your iPhone and see if you really need everything you're keeping there.

  • HT1657 I have rented a movie on my iPad but it won't download because I don't have enough memory.  Searching thru the FAQ it looks like I am unable to transfer this to my Apple TV.  Is this correct & if so then maybe there should be a warning when purchas

I have rented a movie on the iPad but I don't have enough memory for it to download  - so I wanted to make it available on my Apple TV - looking at the FAQ it doesn't look like I am allowed to do this! Why not - I've purchased/rented this movie I should be able to watch on any device??!   Can I get a refund for something I can't watch??

As it says on the page that you posted from :
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Why it's like that I don't think that Apple have said (these are user-to-user forums). If you haven't downloaded it on your iPad then have you checked to see if you can download it on your computer's iTunes (Store > Check For Available Downloads menu option) or Apple TV ?
If it doesn't show on either of them then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will let you download it on a different computer/device or refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • I am trying to install a program on my Mac Book Pro Retina from a Apple SuperDrive. Every time I run the installer, it says I do not have enough memory to install. However, I definitely have enough memory (186.74 GB). Any ideas why?

I am trying to install a program on my Mac Book Pro Retina from a Apple SuperDrive. Every time I run the installer, it says I do not have enough memory to install. However, I definitely have enough memory (186.74 GB). The program takes only 550 MB. Any ideas why?

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."
Thank you again for your help.

  • I have an ipod touch but i don't have enough memory and 0I get an upgrade soon for my phone and i want the iphone but the thing is, can i have an ipod touch and an iphone on the same itunes account like can i use my money on my ipod account for my iphone

Your iPhone and iPod can share the same iTunes account.  Apps can be freely shared and used by one or both devices.  You can't use money in your iTunes account to pay for your phone, but purchased apps can be used by both the iPod and iPhone.

  • HT1386 When I try to sync my iphone with itunes, it tells me in a warning that I don't have enough memory and yet the status bar on the bottom says I do and I know that I have enough memory. What's as

When I try to sync my iphone with itunes, it tells me a warning that I don't have enough memory and yet the status bar at the bottom says that I do and I know that I have enough memory. What's the problem? It happens with the ipods and ipad as well!!!

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version.  You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes.  Or you can adapt to the new look.

  • If you don't have enough memory for os x lion is there another way to get it?, If you don't have enough memory for os x lion is there another way to get it?

It is a 2006 model. I don't have enough memory on this but is there any other way to get it on here?

You will need at least a model 2,1 Core 2 Duo. The model1,1 Core Duo can not run Lion.
To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

Turn off the check mark to sync your music and also the check mark for the video. Sync the device. This will remove the items from you iPad but still keep them on your computer. Install IOS 7.1.2. Then turn on the check marks for your music and videos and resync the device.
