Why don't my iMessages get marked as read on other devices?

It used to be the case that when I got an iMessage, if I read the message on one device (like my phone), it would be marked as read on my iPad, and the banner and notification would disappear (usually instantly). One day, that feature just stopped working, and a message I read on my iPhone will stay 'unread' on my iPad (and my Mac), unless I go into the messages app on one of those devices. I'm not sure if this is just a problem I'm experiencing, of if this is something that Apple changed..

Well, this has started happening to me very recently too. Could be a coincidence, but its at least interesting to know its not isolated.
Its a difficult one, as I dont seem to be able to recreate it when I test it (if I send a message to myself from my wifes iPad just after the problem has shown itself, it doesnt happen again). Its almost like iMessage has fallen asleep / disconnected somehow from syncing but reconnects for a while.
Im going to try the following:
1) forcebly closing iMessages on all iMessage devices (from the app switcher on iOS)
2) Turning off iMessage altogether on each device, then enabling it again (Settings > Messages > iMessage)
Interestingly after disabling iMessage on all my devices, when I try to send myself a message, it doesn't fail (at least not very quickly, I waited 15 minutes), it just doesnt show delivered or read.
After enabling iMessage again, the message I sent while it was off, still hasn't been received or failed (its been 5 mins). I'll see how it goes when I get a few more cross device messages.

2.with raw you have to specify the exact size of the file at creation time, in contrast with file system, where you can create file without specifying its size, start writing to it, apending new blocks to it until you are done, and thus creating a file of whatever size it needs to be to hold all information.

3.raw file systems are difficult to manage because you cannot run normal os commands on them.(as there is no file systems)
How ARCH process is related to Block Device and Character Device ?A block device would read/write bytes in fixed size blocks, as in disk sectors. Character devices read/write 0 or more bytes, in a stream, such as a TTY or a keyboard.

Mail with Gmail IMAP: All mail getting marked as read

So other than being painfully slow, and just plain irritating, I have one huge problem with Mail (Tiger) and Gmail IMAP. All incoming mail is marked as read. The mail downloads, gets sorted into folders by the various rules, but the folders never show up with a number showing new messages. I have missed so many emails lately, I think I will have to go back to POP...or add a line to every single rule saying "mark as unread".
Is there a simple solution to this problem I am overlooking?

Yeah, the stupid part is that all SPAM comes marked as unread. So I get to see that I have spam, just not legitimate mail. Ugh.

How does music downloaded on one device get onto all of my other devices?

I understand what "sharing" is, but this is not my question.
When I downloaded three songs from iTunes yesterday, it asked me something about sharing this song with my other devices. I'm sorry but I don't rememeber the exact wording of the message as that was the first time I had ever seen it (I don't download a whole lot of music).
I downloaded three songs from iTunes into my MacBook Pro (10.7.1 Lion). But I also have an iPhone (3GS running iOS4), and iPod Touch (running iOS4), and an iMac (running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard). All of these devices are on my home network (via an Airport Extreme).
I sort of understood the message with the meaning that, okay, the song that you just downloaded to your laptop will also be available on all of your other devices....Did I not understand this correctly? Because I just looked at all of my other devices and computers and the new songs are not there. I crated a new "list" for the new songs, and it is this new list that I looked for (should I be looking in a different location?).

PS: I did a "sync" of my iPhone and iPod Touch with my iMac, but the songs do not appear anywhere except in their original location, which is my MacBook Pro. I do not sync my devices with my MacBook Pro because that is my "travel" computer, and I use my iMac as my main "base" computer.

I already did these things (listed above). Maybe I didn't ask my question the right way, so let me give it another shot.
What do I have to do on my end in order to get my new music (that was downloaded into my MacBook Pro) into my iMac, iPhone, and iPod?
Is there something I have to do---like a sync? Or do I have to somehow "tell" the system to go and grab these new songs? Or is this something that is completely out of the user's hands and it just "happens" as long as you have the settings as listed above? Because this seems to be where I'm having the problem. I have all of my devices set up properly, and I downloaded the three new songs last night. So far, only my my MacBook Pro has the new songs. How long does it take for them to get over to my other devices? And if someone can please clarify this for me: Is this all 100% automatic in that I don't do ANYTHING at all on my end? It just somehow happens? I'm a bit confused in this area.

Why does my computer not connect to the internet but other devices do

I have a mac book pro, and it has not been connecting to the internet lately. I also have an iPhone as well as other devices that do connect to the internet. Why is this? Is there anything I can do to reset the internet settings on my computer, or some other solution to fix this? I am guessing th problm is not my internet, because the other devices connect.

1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again, this will refresh the IP address of the router? You may not have access to router.
2. Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Try adding your SSID and Password manually
Settings>Wi-Fi>Other...>Other Network

Why don't my iMessages don't go to my iPad?

I have iMessage configured on both. I can send an iMessage to a contact, but when they reply, it doesn't return to my iPad. In fact, NO iMessages goto iPad.
They are configured the same, with the same AppleID.
I don't understand, this is not how Apple said it should function. Cannot resume, or continue conversation when switching devices as Steve demoed.

I've been playing with this. In order for them to show up on both devices, messages must be sent to your apple ID. I also changed my iPhone to send messages from my apple ID. Keep in mind conversations you have already started by sending from your phone number will not show up on both devices. I found that I had to start a new message to get it on both devices once I changed my caller ID on the iPhone. iPhone settings/message/receive at/ caller ID. There will not be a caller ID option if your apple ID is not registered under messages on your iPhone.

Why don't I ever get the address I am seeking?

When I search on Firefox, I never get a list that actually contains the site I want. Instead, I get a bunch of sites that may eventually take me to the site I want, but to use them I either have to put up with a lot of bull or pay first. Recently one of those sights charged me $30 just to get to a site I could have connected with using Internet Explorer at no charge. I have never paid on IE.
Don't you ever list the actual sites in your search list or is it always just satellite sites whose sole purpose is to make money?

I have 4 different devices with 3 users. All users use the numbers app on iPads and the shared files don't for other users. For devices linked to the same Apple ID the updates appear immediately.
What can I do?

How can I stop emails pushed to the Curve from getting marked as "Read" in Outlook!

I get 100 or so emails a day, and get them bolded in Outlook until I read them. In two of my three email accounts, the emails remain bolded in Outlook even after being pushed to the Curve. In the third, which runs through my work server, all emails come in unbolded as if they're already read.
This is confusing me and making it hard to go back and pick up important emails (and delete others). Anyone got any ideas of how to fix this in my email set-up on the Curve?

your other two email accounts, which type are they? MSN, Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail or another provider? I have one of each of these and i have mine setup as delete on mailbox and server, wireless reconcile on and on conflict mailbox wins, so when i see these emails on my computer, they are already read and if deleted( yahoo and gmail) will be deleted on the server, the msn and hotmail just stay as read but not deleted.

Items wont get marked as 'Read' in Outlook

The problem I have is that when I read an email on my Iphone it continues to appears as 'Unread' on Outlook.
So at the moment I have 24 unread emails in Outlook dating back to the 12 of May and only 9 unread emails on my Iphone.
My Iphone is set to sync the last month of emails in my inbox and I have an email from last Thursday I definitely read on my Iphone (and appears as unread) which appears as 'Unread' in my Outlook despite having a full 3G signal and the WiFi is switched off as well.
Anybody seen this before or can suggest a fix?

Why don't my updated apps in iTunes sync to my devices when syncing?

I used to be able to just update all apps on iTunes which downloads all of the latest updates. Then I could plug in my iphones and ipads and hit sync and it would transfer (sync) the updated apps to my plugged in device. Now I do sync but it does not transfer the apps. I have to dowload the updates on each of my three devices which takes lots of time, battery life, and bandwidth usage. Before I could even do the updates on one of my phones and then when plugged in to itunes and synced it would transfer the updated app to the itunes where I could then connect other devices and sync them. Am I missing something? It seems stupid to have to do a 435MB update four different times for the four devices where I could just do it once on itunes and sync it to the other devices. I have iTunes 11.1.0.126 and running on WIndows Vista PC

Same problem for me... It should update apps automatically...
I found that to update the apps I have to push the button on the right side of the app in tha "App" view of the Iphone (the wondow where you devide which apps to install on the Iphone). Description will change from Update to Will Update, and after that when I sync the app will be updated.
To select all the apps to be updated, find the first one and click on the Update button holding down Ctrl key, and after that all the apps will be updated... Annoying, but it is a workaround to avoid checking all the apps one by one.

Is my router and school's network making imessage fall out of sync with other devices?

I'm having issues with iMessage and other iCloud services syncing properly between my iPhone, iPad and Mac, which are running the most up to date versions of their OS's
This issue happens when I'm living in my school's residence. I have my own router (D-Link DIR-601) hooked up to the ethernet jack on my wall and I'm thinking that things like iMessage are having trouble finding my devices because these services are going through the internet and then through two networks that have two different sets of rules (ex: firewall, NAT)?
I think that's the issue, because when I'm at home for summer and holidays iCloud services work perfectly fine on my home network.

Could be. If your school's router is handling the DHCP service, make sure you don't try to enable DHCP on your router too. If that's the case you would want to disable DHCP on your router so it operates as a wireless access point.

How do I turn off iCloud so that my iMessages aren't shared with the other devices on my account

Either use different icloud IDs (accounts) on each device, or on the iPad, turn off iMessage (Settings>Messages). Or use a different Send & Receive address (same settings page).
