Why don't my iMovie rejected clips show up?

Here's the story, I tried to import a 5.5 gb video into iMovie over night. The next morning, it didn't show up in the clips section. I figured something wen't wrong with the import, so I re-imported it over the day. When it didn't show up again, I was really confused. I then imported them into Final Cut (the only reason I didn't import the file to Final Cut first is because my computer doesn't run it that well) and edited the file to my liking.
Now that all my files were edited, I deleted the event in iMovie that I saved the files to the first two times, thinking I deleted the clips as well. However, when I went to look at my hard drive space and I noticed it went from 200 gb of free space to 80 gb of free space, and there was a significant increase in my 'backups' and 'other' catagories. All of this in a matter of about a day.
After searching around the web, I found that my files didn't show up because they were rejected by iMovie, so naturally I went back into iMovie and looked at the rejected clips. No clips showed up. I tried to find them in finder with little luck. I don't know what to do, my computer doesn't run well with less than 100 gb of space left.
Where are my rejected clips? I'm relatively new to the mac world, and I don't really venture into the inner file systems.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want an external hard drive to show up on the desktop. It may be a preference that needs to be checked. Does this only happen with NTFS drives? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
OS X Mavericks: Finder preferences
click the Finder icon in the Dock, then choose Finder > Preferences.
Besides the options described here, there are more ways to customize Finder windows. For information, see:

Deselect items you don’t want to see on the desktop. You will still see them in Finder windows.

Why don't my imported movie files show in iMovie?

I have a frustrating problem, and I don't know what to do. Sometimes when I import a movie file (usually a dv file) into iMovie, it doesn't show up. If I go to my finder, however, and look in the coresponding event folder, it's there. I can even open it in Quicktime and watch it no problem. It just doesn't show in iMovie when I have iMovie open, therefore I have no way of editing it. Sometimes if I try and import it again, it'll work fine, and sometimes it will only show a portion of the video in my iMovie, while the entire video is seemingly intact in the finder. I have plenty of room on my hard drive for the video. It does this with mov files too sometimes. Is there just a roblem with my iMovie?

This has been driving me barmy as well. I am on early 2011 MacBook Pro unibody, Lion OSX10.7.4. Clicking 'import' and navigating to the movie file just would not work. Why oh why? Your answers about showing 'all clips' in the event window or iMovie marking them as rejected were not relevant. Also these are movie clips I have put on my hard disk from my phone, they have not come through iPhoto.
Despair. No forums hold the answer. Until I remembered a Microsoft glitch in Lion that I just found out yesterday. (Does anybody else think that Lion is actually all downsides from 10.6.8? I haven't yet found a single thing that makes it better, and loads of things that make it worse. And I waited a year to 'upgrade'). Exel files with a '/' in the filename give you this infuriating message saying they are in use by another user. Er... doh, no other users are connected, no one else even knows these files exist, never mind uses them at the same time. Magic: Delete the '/' from the filename, and hey presto all is fine.
EXACT SAME THiNG with iMovie files. I took the '/' out of the filename and import now works fine. There you are. Yet another bit of Lion poop.

Why don't my adjustments in LR4 show up when I edit in Photoshop CS5?

Why is it when I edit an image in lightroom 4 then go to retouch etc in photoshop cs5 those adjustements that I made on the image in lightroom ie contrast, saturation, exposure etc don't show up when I move the raw image into photoshop to do final retouching on the image but still have it in my lightroom catalog? It is the camera raw issue that comes up when you first try to edit an image and lightroom says it needs camera 7.0 which does't exist yet?

1. you need ACR 6.7 Release Candidate in Photoshop CS 5 to be able to pass the raw data from LR 4.
2. Camera raw 7.x will not be available in PS CS5 you will require PS CS6 which is now available in release candidate.version. All the info you need is there.
I was just passing on the link to the official info from the head of the Lightroom team so the correct info could be viewed so there would be a minimum of mis-understanding.

Hi everyone! My name is Kai and this is my first post here. Normaly I find an answer to all my questions by reading already existing discussions. But this time I wasn't lucky...
Hopefully this is not a stupid question.
I downloaded lens profiles for the Rokinon 7.5 fisheye and created a folder named "Rokinon" in "Rsources", "LensProfiles", "1.0" (MAC OS) to put them in, but they don't show up in LR5 and I can't use them. What's wrong?

The correct location to place downloaded Lens profiles on a Mac is:
Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / LensProfiles /

Why are my deleted imovie events not showing up in mac trash?

I dleted an event in imovie on my macbook pro, it dissappeared, but I can't for the life of me find it in my mac trash.

No solution to offer, but I can say that you are not alone. I am having the same exact problem.
I installed "Photos" around April 8. "My Photo Stream" shows up in the sidebar containing pictures up through April 6 - nothing later. Photos taken with my iPhone since then do not show up.
My iPhone and iPad both have Photostream on and working. Photos taken with either show up almost immediately on both devices. It is only "Photos" on the desktop machine which is broken. Like you, I have tried turning Photostream on/off, restarted both desktop machine and phone. Nothing. "Photos" photo stream is stuck in time at April 6.

When you create a new bookmark by selecting the 'bookmark this page' command or clicking on the star next to the address, existing bookmark folders don't show up anywhere in the window. The only folder options are 'bookmarks toolbar', 'bookmarks menu' & 'unsorted bookmarks', non of which expand to show existing folders.

"pfauslled?" I'm afraid that I can't understand your message at all, so I'll just answer the question in the subject line. If you're using an iCloud calendar on both devices, it certainly should show the same events. If you created a whole bunch of events offline, it's possible they haven't been pushed to iCloud yet... Open the Calendar app when you are online and let it get fully synced, on both devices. Also, tap the Calendars button in the top left corner of the screen in the Calenar app, and make sure that the same calendars are visible in both places. If you don't see the same calendars, go to Settings > iCloud and make sure Calendars is turned on on both devices. Oh, and if one of those devices has not been updated to iOS 5, do that.

Why don't all of my contacts show in my contact list?

when i'm writing a text i can add contacts by typing in their name in the search bar at the top, however alot of these copntacts dont show up in my contact list
my contact list only shows 68 contacs however there should be more like 150 in there! can anybody help as this is really frustrating when i need to look for a particular contact!!!!

Ahh.. I think I misunderstood your issue before... In text it timestamps the first message, then if you are going back and forth and back and forth it doesnt fill up with timestamps, but if you wait 15 minutes or more between messages, then the next one will be timestamped.... so if you dont see it timestamped, it was within 15 min of the last message.

Why don't transparencies and drop shadows show right in pdf on Firefox ?

We have display problems with transparencies and drop shadows in pdf that we upload on our website.
When these pdf are opened on Firefox the areas where we have used transparencies, drop shadows and color gradation end up in grey boxes.
This is a real problem for our society which only operates on the web.
You can find below some links to pdf that are particularly affected by this display issue :

(grey boxes have appeared on the header, some pictures that were a bit transparent are missing on page 2)

Viewed on different web browsers these pdf show fine.
The issue is that all our website and our turnover are based on these pdf documentations, which could be viewed by a customer using Firefox.
We are aware that changing our pdf viewer would be the solution but only for our computers and we cannot make all our customers change their pdf viewer.
Are you aware of this problem ?

Hey I found out from the developers that this is actually fixed in version 29 via Bug 965861. Try the pdf viewer in the next version of Firefox, this will take care of that gradient. :-) Cheers.

Why don't the garageband audio effects show up in keynote?

I'm trying to embed a sound effect in a Keynote presentation, but there are no garageband sound effect files in the media tab. How can I import the sound effects into Keynote? I'm trying to do this with 56 third-graders. Please help!

The sound effects are stored in the System library:
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects
You can drag them directly from this folder into your Keynote presentation, but I would not trust third graders with access to this library. Perhaps you could create a copy odf this folder in a shared folder, where the children can access the effects easily?
Or teach them to export audio clips of the sound effects from GarageBand to the Desktop (by creating a song with noting but a sund effect track) and then drag the effect from the Desktop to their presentation?

Why don't sub elements of Scene show up when hosted in a Swing application?

I'm using some well publicised tricks to get at the SwingScene object from some runtime evaluated JavaFX code and insert it into a JFrame. However no elements within that Scene are displayed, the fill colour is applied, but a test Rectangle object does not appear to be there.
For reference here is the JavaFX code that I'm using to test this:

Trouble deleting only rejected clips after imovie update

When i send rejected clips to the trash, it pulls more of the original video with it. How can i keep this from happening? Only started with the new Mavericks update.

I've seen one suggestion relating to Revealing the Clip in the Finder. Try this:
Go to the Reject Clips by clicking on the pulldown menu at the bottom where it says Show: (choose Rejected Clips Only). Then <CTRL> click on on of the red striped thumbnails choose Reveal in Finder. When the Finder window launches, your clip will be highlighted. Select it and drag it to the trash.
Quit iMovie, then relaunch it and go back to the Show: (Rejected Clips Only) see if that clip is now missing from the list of Rejected Clips. If this works and your Project file still plays back successfully I would say it's safe to continue deleting as needed. But if you have some problems and the Project has been affected there might be another reason you cannot delete the clips.
iPhoto Videos are not deletable in the traditional iMovie Rejected Clips kind of way. They are under full control and jurisdiciton of iPhoto. And as a result, iMovie is not allowed to do anything other than 'copy' or re-use them in a Project. Deletion of iPhoto Videos in iMovie will not work. So your only real option is to try deleting them from iPhoto instead. So just be aware of where your video clips are located in the iMovie Event Library and everything should be OK.

Why don't my episodes show up (everywhere)?

I've recently uploaded my rss feed (xml file) to my server and also through itunes to be listed in the podcasts.
The first time I did it I just tested one episode for the podcast which was successful. The second time, I added 4 more epispodes to the feed and uploaded it to my server. Trying to sedn the new one through iTunes I just got a message saying that the feed had already been uploaded - fine.
Now when I go to the podcast in the music store, only one episode shows up, but if I subscribe, they all show up in my Podcast library as available for download.
Why don't all of the episodes show up in the music store for individual download?
I am using Podcaster software to create my feeds.

I can confirm that I am experiencing the exact same issue. It has been bugging me for several days and I couldn't find any current info about this problem until I found your post.
I've done some experimenting. If I use a computer to upload a photo with a status update, it will appear in the newsfeed. When I use my iPhone with the Facebook app, the photo and update will appear on my wall, but not in the feed. If I just upload text from the iphone app, it will appear in the newsfeed. I was using the newest version of the app for a while without realizing this issue.
Also, I always set my newsfeed to "most recent" so that I am not just seeing the "most popular."

I just updated iMovie to 10.0.2. while attempting to import clips from my camera every clip shows up in the window EXCEPT the one I want to download. Its on may camera but won't show up why?

i had just updated imovie to 10.0.2. While attempting to import clips from my camera the computer froze so I tried to eject the usb cord hooked to my camera. Even though it said it was OK to do so, when I pulled it out I got a message it was done prematurely. When I restarted the computer and tried to import again, evey clip shows up in the window EXCEPT the very one I want to import. I have no idea why and Ive tried everyting( restart, turn off, etc) nothing works. The wanted clip shows up fine on my camera but not in the imovie import window. please help
