Why don't my three security questions  work?

I am trying to download from the store and asked to complete the three security questions. I did so, but one answer is rejected. The question is what  was the name of you first pet...my answer ( e.g Rover), the rejection response ... your date of birth must  be between 1880 and  2010. I have tried to pretend that  my first pet was called 1990 but the same "red ' message appears. now i cant download anything from the store. Any help? I have tried numerous times to no avail.
Frustrated right now! Any help would be appreciated

Use the wall power adapter and charge it for half an hour.
After that do a
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

  • Why does it ask three security questions but does not except ?

I can not download games. When I try a message pops up that says "would you please answer these 3 security questions to continue" and  when i fill them out and continue it says '' your changes could not be saved'' then i hit cancel and the applied for app disappears?

If you havent solved it already, i think this might help:
    - Go to iTunes > select Music in the lower left corner, scroll down and tap your Apple ID, chose log out
    - Double tap you home button and close all application that´s running on your device
    - Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data
    - Open App store, download a free application and enter/verify your information
The download should start after you´ve completed the security questions.

  • Why does the App store ask if I want to create three security questions when, in fact, I am required to create three security questions to use the App store?

This is sooooo lame. I'm given the choice of "Not Now" when asked if I want to create three security questions, but clicking "not now" logs me out rather than letting me download the app I came for. Is this sort of poor design typical for Apple?

Then why doesn't Apple simply say:
"To download the app you must first create three security questions and answers. Do you wish to create the questions now so that you may then download the app?"
As written, the text implies that I could download the app without creating the questions first. Good design calls for a clear and direct statement that an act is mandatory when it is mandatory.

  • Why does the App Store keep telling me I've got to set three security questions? And how do I Make them?

Every time I try to download a new app, a pop-up comes up telling me to set three security questions. And when I try to set them using the provided link it takes me to a page and keeps asking for my password even after I enter it in multiple times. So, is there another way to set my security questions or is there a way to just get rid of the pop-ups? Thanks.

This is for additional security to protect your Apple ID.
Try setting your security questions for your Apple ID with a browser on your computer instead.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
      a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
      b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
      c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
          security questions.
      d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
          questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
    Good Luck friends!

  • HT2731 three security questions and my year of birth

Today I tried to download a new free app, and I am being asked for three security questions any my year of birth.  I have never been asked for this before.  Why is this happening, and when did it start?.  thanks.

The same thing happened to me when I attempted to download an app today.
Asking for year of birth is unnecessary and intrusive.
In an email response a Customer Service rep basically suggested  that Apple decides what is intrusive: either provide the information, or don't download the app.  It's not a stretch to infer: provide the information or get lost.
I've asked for a senior person in Apple to provide a more substantive answer;  however,  I'm not holding my breath given the content and tone of the above email.
I guess you knuckle under, or move to another device.
What a botched job of introducing a new security feature -- for a company with one heck of a product.  I guess they figure they're so big they can do whatever they like, and have accepted a certain percentage of customer shrinkage.

  • After submitting answers to the three security questions it pops up that an error has occurred.  Anyone know how to fix it?

In order to download any songs, apps, etc.  itunes prompts me to answer three security questions.  I answer the questions and then I receive an error - cannot make changes to your account.  Has anyone experienced this issue and if so how do I rectify it?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

    From Apple Support...
Here are troubleshooting steps that should help you fix the problem.
    1) Quit App Store in multi-tasking.
    2) Tap Settings.
    3) Tap Safari.
    4) Tap Clear History.
    5) Tap the Clear History button.
    6) Tap Clear Cookies and Data.
    7) Tap the Clear Cookies and Data button.
Try purchasing an app again from the device to get the security question prompt. You really need to set up the security question.
...it seems to have worked for me.....

If you do not have a rescue email address (different from alternate email address) set up on the account, you will need to contact iTunes Support online:
http://apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html (select Account Security as your help topic)
or by phone: Apple Support Numbers
If you do have rescue email address set up:
Go to http://appleid.apple.com. Underneath where it says “Already have an Apple ID?," click Manage your Account. You will then need to sign in. If you forgot your Apple ID or password, click on the appropriate "Forgot..." link below either of these fields.
After you sign in, click on "Passwords and Security" on the left.
You will be asked to answer the security questions, but you should also notice a link below the second "Answer" field offering to send reset instructions to your rescue email address that you provided.
Check the Inbox of your rescue email address. The email should appear within a minute or two. If it does not, be sure to check Spam. If it is not there either, you can repeat the above process to resend. Once you get the email, following the link will take you to a page where you must sign in again. After doing so, you will have the option to choose three new security questions and answers, which you may want to write down
After you fill in the required information and continue, you should be taken to a confirmation screen stating "Your password and security information has been saved," and then you are done.
The "Forgot your answers?" link will not appear if you do not have a rescue email address set up.

  • I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help suiting the old apple I'd because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions

I just created an iCloud email and I want to use that email for my iTunes account as well. I need help switching the old apple ID because I do not remember anything associated with that email and I don't know the security questions or the login for that old email.

You cannot do that.  The AppleID you used to create the iCloud account is an active primary email address.  The email address you created with the iCloud account is also an active primary email address (all Apple domain email address automatically become AppleIDs as well).  You cannot replace the primary email address on one active AppleID with the primary email address on another, active AppleID.
You can use your iCloud email/AppleID with iTunes, but it will be a separate account, so all your previous purchases remain tied to the other AppleID you have.
I don't understand your statement that you could not remeber your old AppleID password, as you would have had to use it to create the iCloud account in the first place (the first step of creating the iCloud account required you to login with your existing AppleID and password)?
