Why dont i get notified when i have a new email?

so i wanted to know is there any way i can get notified when i get an email besides having to check my mail myself to see if i have any? ive seen people have the number symbol on the mail icon when they get email but i never do. ive already went into notifications and made sure everything is on but still nothing. does anyone have ideas to what i can do or is it a glitch on my phone?

You would probably have better luck searching the Yahoo! help documentation. I know if you are running Yahoo! Messenger that you can have it alert you via audible sound that you have a new email.

Not Knowing When I Have Received New Email

I just got an iPad a couple of days ago. The only problem I've encountered with this device is the mail. The little red number that is supposed to show up on the Mail icon when you receive a new email does not show up. I do not know that I have any mail in my inbox until I go to the application. I've tried deleting all the mail in my inbox, outbox, and trash but that has not solved the problem. If you could help me, I would be more than happy!

Tap Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Make sure Push is turned on.
Tap Advanced / Push. Select Fetch.
Restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

Why am I getting popups when I have it set for no exceptions?

Why do I get Spaces when I add a new line?

Finally broke down and have retired HomeSite+. Not sure that is a good idea though... A few things are bugging me about ColdFusion Builder 2 such as:
I have auto indent turned on for tabs only and a tab is set to 3 spaces wide. I have done this in every editor setting under Preferences (ColdFusion, General, HTML, and Java) yet if the line I am working on has more than one tab as an indent every time I press return I get 3 spaces in place of one of the tabs. How do I make that go away???
In my CFML Formatting Profile I have Tag Case and Attribute Case set to upper case yet they always show up lower case. How do I fix that?
More often than not when I type a closing angle bracket on a line (>) the ending tag does not appear, and when it does it is always lower case and not upper case.

Let see I now get ending angle brackets every time I type in a variable for things like CFLOOP but it doesn't add the </CFLOOP> unless I first delete the > that it put in first. When it adds </CFLOOP> it is lower case even though I want it upper case. Weired thing is when the closing </CFQUERY> tag is addded it is upper case.

How to get notified when changes happen on Hyper-V host or VMs

Is there a way to get notified on Hyper-V host or VM changes? Our intention is to notify the system-administrators on any changes.
1. How to get notified when new VM is created (or deleted) on Hyper-V.
2. How to get notified when any memory/CPU/disk is added (or deleted) on any VM(s).
In general:
- Get notified when any changes happens to Hyper-V host.
- Get notified when any changes happens on any VMs.
Our target servers are Windows Server(2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2)
We tried to get the notification using "Event Viewer" on different Windows servers (2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2)
We were able to get event-logs only on one of our 2012 R2 server as described below on creation/deletion of VMs (on another 2012 R2 server, we did not got any such event, Is there any setting required on host computer to get Hyper-V event-logs in "Event

Just to make it more clear:
In our environment we have enabled Hyper-V on following Windows servers: 2012 R2, 2012, 2008 R2, 2008. The environment is very dynamic, VMs are getting created and deleted very frequently. Our intention is to get notified by any means on VM creation/deletion,
currently we are relying on event-logs (we are OK with any different mechanism for such notification if there exists, i,e other than event-logs)
We were able to get event-logs only on few of our 2012 R2 server on creation/deletion of VMs. On another 2012 R2 server, we did not got any such event (do we need to make some settings on 2012 R2 to get events? If yes, what are those settings).
Also we are not getting any such event of VM creation/deletion on our Windows Server 2012, 2008, 2008 R2. Is there any setting required on hese host computer to get Hyper-V event-logs in "Event Viewer" for VM creation/deletion?

Unfortunately the Mail app on the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch does have the option to clear previous recipients. If you don't want to live with it, the only way to remove these cached email addresses from the Mail application is by restoring the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch as a new iPad/iPhone/iPod. If you restore from backup, the cache is also restored.

Keep the install package for your Mac in a safe place but in a location that is not known by your boy.

Have you provided your iCloud ID and password to anyone? You can also go into Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services>Status Bar Icon, and that will show the location services icon in the status bar if something is using location services on your device.
However, if you have provided your iCloud ID and password to someone, or you have not acknowledged an invite to Find My Friends, then no one could be tracking you. But if you did provide that information, if someone does log into Find My iPhone, you should get an email at your iCloud ID mail address that someone has logged into Find My iPhone.

How to get notified when cache items disappear?

Let's say I have two JVMs in a partitioned cache with no backups (backup_count=0).
As cache items are inserted, roughly 50% of the items go to JVM1 and JVM2 each.
If JVM2 has a violent death, all the cache items in JVM2 are lost forever. Is there a way to know in JVM1 which cache items are lost? I tried using a MapListener in JVM1 on the backing map but it doesn't get notified when JVM2 dies. Using MemberListener would tell me that JVM2 died but it wouldn't tell me which cache items were lost.
Is there a way to know the cache items that were lost in the above scenario?

Unfortunately currently there is no generic functionality that would allow you to know what entries were "lost".

If you have art you wish to keep track of, the way to do it is using ArtUIDRefs (AIUID.h). You can ask art for a unique identifier and later on ask for the handle that belongs to that UID. Its not too hard at that point to determine if it still exists or not. Note that you will probably need to use AIArtSuite::ValidArt() if you get a handle back. This tells you if the handle is actually on the canvas or not; handles persist even when deleted becuase the delete could be undone.
So if you're tracking a small number of particular handles, its quite easy to know whent hey're deleted. If you're trying to watch a huge number of art handles though, you're going to pay a heavy price. While I wish they had better ways to deal with this, the truth is the SDK isn't designed for that kind of plugin. You can make it work, but you're kind of out on the edge of what they'd planned.

I kind of agree with Philly on this one. If you get a new email address, there is no need to establish an entirely new account to use that address. You just need to modify your account to show the new email address. This way all your purchase history and rights to purchased apps stays in place. Creating a new iTunes/Apple account each time your email address changes really doesn't make sense in my opinion. I only point this out for future searchers who end up on this thread.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
If you created a new account then you can log out of the old account and in with the new one as above, but any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can re-download its content and download updates to its apps.
