Hello,i use a Nokia Lumia 620.all of my friends who use the same model(620) are now getting there amber software update but why don't i get the option to update.everytime i check for updates,it says your phone is up to date.my friends and i live in the same neighborhood.why does this happen.should i be worried?

Updating IOS5 - Why dont i have the option in my settings?????

I am trying to update my iphone 4 with the IOS5 update and its just not happening grrr. After finally finding a program to transfer my music, etc off my phone to my pc i tried to do it through itunes but it keeps timing out, over and over again. So I have now gone to the apple site to find a way - it says you can do it through your phone using the 'Software Update' option in your Settings on your phone. However, I DON'T HAVE THE 'SOFTWARE UPDATE ' option in my settings - its just not there!!!! This is so incredibly frustrating. Why is it not there?????
Someone please help . . . . this is so frustrating!

Disable your antivirus and firewall software. If you are running Kaspersky, you may need to remove it entirely. It can interfere with the update process.

No. There is no Apple software that will do this. Music purchased from iTunes can be transferred using File>Transfer Purchases in iTunes on the PC. Anything else had to be synced from a PC to the phone to begin with. You should have those files already. If the computer they were on crashed, was destroyed, etc. then you shoud have a backup of that computer. Backups are the responsibility of the user. The iPhone is not a backup device.
If the music in question came from a comptuter that you do not own, and you do not have the originals of the music (audio CDs, etc), then you have no legal right to have the music in the first place. Copying someone else's music is theft.
The music is not copied from someone elses computer. It's mine I purchased from itunes directly to my phone. (off topic).
Im running Avira antivirus and im extremely hesitant to disable this and use the internet - in the past I have had computers crash from Trojans trying this technique.

Yow will probably get 17mbps, which is what I get on that and on good backup sites. I hear you can get a little more if you unlock the modem and disable who's.

If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

What locations are you seeing these "problems"? If the satellite photos are older or not as clear, you may see some of what you describe. Take a look at one of the major cities and see if they are also appearing as you describe. Someplace like New York, London, Paris. Those are among the cities that seem to be updated most frequently.
Incidentally, the maps are web/cloud based and not contained within the maps app on your iPad, so regardless of the version of your app, you will still get the most current map available.

your iphone is definitely supported for the update, is it not showing up in Settings / General / Software Update?
if not, try plugging your phone into itunes and do the update there.

Why did you remove The option to disable Java scripts?

Everyone knows malware always comes through java scripts. So why did you remove the option to turn it off ? Why the false saftey excuse? (duckspeak) This makes no sense. Alot of people also get errors and have slower speed with some pages so they disable it. I understand there is plugins available to block scripts but they never work 100%. It just really really seems strange that a browser that was built on the idea of safety, security and trust has now suddenly removed a item that makes users less safe, Under the guise of safety. If you are using an older version of iWorks, the sharing was, I understand discontinued in July 2012.
New versions of the iWorks suite, Pages etc now have the sharing option, introduced earlier this year.
