Why dont you show how much power is on the chip in the tech? i want to know the power not what kind of chip it is. i dont even feel like getting an iphone because of this anymore. i dont care about screen i want power of phone...

why dont you?

I agree with Kurt; your question makes little sense. What sort of "power" are you referring to?
And please note that you are not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. We're all just fellow users here.

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

After I've heard an audiobook downloaded from the public library, how do I delete it from the Shuffle to make room for other audiobooks?  When I plug it into my computer, I get a screen showing how much space is left on the Shuffle but no list of files that I can delete.  These books, incidentally do not appear in the ITunes screen.  WRA

Select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  If this is a current 4th (or 3rd) gen iPod shuffle, you should be able to see the contents of the shuffle by type, intented under the shuffle's name (still in the sidebar).  Select Music or Audiobooks (not sure where those items from the library will be listed).  The items will be listed to the right, for each category.  Find the items, select, and delete.
It's on page 20 of the manual
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_4thgen_User_Guide.pdf
NOTE:  If this is an 1st or 2nd gen iPod shuffle, select the iPod shuffle in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  Over to the right, go to the Contents tab, where the items are listed.  Select and delete them from this list.
I find it more convenient to make a playlist in iTunes with things I want to put on the shuffle.  I then set up automatic syncing (or use autofill) to have iTunes load the shuffle from that playlist, automatically.

  • Buying a new iMac... how much power do I need to run GarageBand well?

    Hi All
I am about to get a 27" iMac but am weighing up the options for the processor and memory (and maybe hard drive too). Neither my wife nor I are into gaming or high end graphics stuff, so we do not need an i7 with 16GB ram... but is the bassline 27" iMac powerful enough to run GarageBand with no problems?
I have not really used it much before as our laptop is about 6 years old and it really struggles running GB, hence I have not been keen. However as I am a musician and am about to get a new computer... I am keen to find out just how much power I'll need.
At this stage, I want to play around with GB and dop some aranging, not sure how many tracks this will end up equating to as my experience grows... but unless I really get into it, I am unlikely to progress to Logic or similar... but if I did, would I need more than the baseline?
So in short... do you guys think the 27" iMac i3 with 4GB RAM will cut it for someone who is getting started but wants to spend a reasonable amount of time in GB? Why/why not?
    Thanks

In order to fully understand what you just said to me... I had better find out what an 'Addictive Drum AU' is. I am quite teh newbie when it comes to digitally recording, either from a real instrument or a virtual one.
I am assuming that the Addictive Drum is fairly intense when it comes to the CPU? Are there many other virtual instruments that are hard on the CPU? For an average user I am assuming this will not pop up to often, correct?
Garageband is not a 'closed system' in that you are stuck with what it offers. You have the option to use 3rd party software to enhance your productions. AU stands for Audio Unit, a coding standard around which many 3rd party developers use to integrate with Mac products. As you develop your own habits and tastes with your productions, you might decide that the options GB offers you are not to your liking. This is where these sorts of products come in. They are very easy to use with GB. Addictive Drums is a Drum program that is actually lightweight on your system compared to others. The only reason I had 8 instances (one loaded on 8 individual MIDI tracks) was because of a limitation GB has. It suited my workflow to do it this way.
There is a huge range of AU's available, Native Instruments being a company that does a very good set of products. Some are indeed very CPU intensive, others are not. You have to do your research by asking questions on various forums and seeking reviews etc.
The term 'Average User' really means nothing in my honest opinion. Depending on your preferred genre of music and how you go about hooking into this slippery slope of hobby home recording, you may bump into a variety of limitations either in GB itself or limitations because of your machine. Because RAM is easily replaced by the owner and hard drives are easily obtained for extra storage, CPU is the thing your are stuck with from day one. Programs are getting bigger and they are relying on lots of number crunching. Amp simulations are a good example of CPU intensive software. It is easy to find yourself spending $60 here and $99 there on all sorts of cool Software, and before you know it you have quite the quiver full. I am not a heavy GB user, in that I don't run 30+ tracks on my projects. I am a 12-16 track average user most of the time. However, the reason I upgraded to my iMac recently was because I had one piano AU, yes just one, that stopped my 2 year old macbook in its tracks when using another recording program. I had all the RAM that GB could use, an excellent hard drive and a very good sound card, but the computers lack of grunt made working with it tedious and sometimes frustrating. You more than likely have a budget to work with when getting your machine. The advice I would give any personal friend who was getting their first computer for recording is to get the most CPU you can for your budget. You could be staring at this machine for the next 4-6 years. Typically RAM and hard drives get cheaper over time should you need them, relatively small prices to pay in the long run.

  • How much "power" will my VGA out give me?

I was just wondering, how much power the graphics card is on my iBook G3. I have used the TV out through the headphone jack, and it works ok, but very low quality. I see there is a mini-VGA out. For $20 - I can get an adapter that turns that port into a regular VGA plug that I can use with any other monitor.
This Black Friday, there is a place selling a 22" LCD monitor for only $139.99 which is super cheap - and I was wondering if it would work with my iBook. What I am concerned about is - this monitor had a native resolution of 1680 x 1050, and my iBook monitor is 1024 x 768. So, when I plug in this monitor, will that option become available, or will I be stuck with a 22" monitor with a stretched 1024 x 768 picture? If that is the case, then it's not worth it.
But I was just wondering what the max resolution was of the VGA out on these old iBooks.
    Thanks!
    Scott

I don't know about the Pro models. You may want to ask in their forums if you're considering buying one of them.
As a matter of fact, I'm not 100% certain about the MacBook since I've never actually tried connecting an external display and I don't often post or read topics in the MacBook forums. However, the question has come up many times here about the iBook G3 (Dual USB) (where I have been posting for over 5 years), and I'm sure that its resolution is fixed at the maximum of the built-in display. I based my comment about the MacBook on the assumption that since the MacBook is the iBook's replacement, there is a similar limitation. Pro models have several capabilities lacking on the consumer models, and I really don't know about the resolutions they may support.

  • How much power?

within the next few weeks, i will likely be making the move to the world of mac and subsequently, to logic pro. my only real big question at this point is just how much power will i need? i will definately be going with the intel processor but how many tracks can i work with at the 512mb minimum requirement or how much more ram would i want to upgrade to? i am currently looking into the imac or macbook due to price and mobility.

Buyig rams fr A vendor and not fr apple to use on A mac.
    Is A real riskyie situation.
1 not all memory works on all mac.
whether it is DDR /SDR. Trust me.
Some macs will accept the memory but will not work properly.
why do you think loads of mac go crashing on logic when stuff is being process,
the time it take to get from 1 memory to the other it go CRASH CRASH.
Say you went back to the shop
    LOCAL VENDOR.
    NOT MAC.
They will tell you all type of RUBBISH some vender that is I had to make out like i am some real yard man ganster cause the boss man was,nt having it.
Wow lucky for me, for 1 of the first time IT fealt great. cause they see I was JAMAICAN and I was in no (ramping)/ meaning -PLAYING.
I WHEN AS FAR AS MAKING OUT LIKE I WOULD SMASH THE WHOLE SHOP IF THEY DID,NT SHORT
THE BAD MEMORY OUT, ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.
    EIGHTER GO TO APPLE.
ARE TAKE SOMEONE WITH EXPRIENCE ON MAC, AND IT WOULD ALSO BE BETTER TO TAKE A MAC WITH YOU THEN TEST THE MEMORY.
ONLY SOME MAC,S WILL PASS ON THE MEMORY CHECK, THOUGH.
BUT IF YOU CAN GET A DEAL AT A VENDOR A YOU ARE NEW TO MAC.
    THEY CAN SEE YOU COMMING
YOU ARE IN TO BE PLAYED.

  • There is a screen that shows how much energy is being used by an application..where do I find that screen

There is a screen that opens on a monitor that shows how much energy is being used by an application.   Any body can tell me how do I find it.. ?
My lap is blowing the fan continuously and I know its because a lot of energy is used by any of the applications.. I would like to be able to monitor that.

Well, this isn't notebook community for one. For another Top is quite good and can show you a lot or stick with Activity Monitor with its GUI.
You definitely want to install a utility to monitor temps, whether iStatPro or Temperature Monitor
    www.macupdate.com
Energy = watts but you don't mean measuring what you are using off the wall outlet, rather the fan speed and temperature sensors.
If you know you will be doing something to stress the system, FanControl can set profiles and instead of waiting to get hot, kick up the fan rpm to something more useful first. Works well.
You could have software that is not well behaved. Or that you installed years ago that is not compatible with what you have now. When last you installed the OS whether it was an upgrade in place or clean install (and used Setup Assistant to import apps).

  • How much power do iMacs use when working and asleep?

As usual, whilst claiming green credentials, the information Apple gives regarding power use is minimal and vague to the point of being meaningless.
The only figures they quote are:-
    Maximum continuous use 205w  (21.5")  and  310w  (27")
What exactly does maximum continuous use mean ?
    a. When the machine is switched on but not doing anything
    b. Working at general office tasks
    c. Working flat out transcoding video etc.
Which of these is it?  Or is it all 3?
Does it use more power when performing harder tasks?
If so, what power is used under scenarios a and b?
Finally, how much power is used in sleep mode?

Apple, nor any other device, apple or otherwise, isn't going to give you every power draw for every possible scenario.  So they post what the maximum power would be under maximum load (graphics intensive, computations utilizing all the cores, etc.).  That would be useful for estimating, say, what UPS to choose for the machine.
You want various power draws under various conditions then attach a wattmeter or a KiloWatt EZ.
    Why are these details significant?
As for sleep, I found the following (reference):

    Hi,
thanks for your answer. But my question ist how many the Mobo consumes. Without the periphery!
Why do I want to know this?
    My Machine:
    - MSI 865PE NEO2 FIS2R (Bios 1.8)
    - Zalman ZM400A-APF Power Supply (400W)
    - 1 GB Dual Channel RAM ( 2 x Corsair TWINX512-3200CL2PRO in Slot 1/3) running at 2-3-3-6
    - 2 x Samsung SP1604N as Raid 0 on IDE3
    - 1 x Teac 516E DVD Rom
    - 1 x LG GSA 4040b Multi DVD Writer
    - 1 x Terratec Aureon Fun 5.1 (PCI Slot 3)
    - 1 x ASUS Radeon 9800XT (AGP Slot)
Cause I got almost all information about my periphery I want to know what the Mobo with it's onboard components consumes. The Zalman 400W is one of the best PSU out there as THG said in a test. But are 400W enough to be stable under heavy stress? Most 450-500W PSU aren't delivering what they offer.
So what is the consumption of the Mobo itself with all onboard components turned on (Firewire, USB Ports....)
It should be possible to calculate a whole systemconsuption based on all information I have, or not?

  • How do you determine how much ram is on your iPad?

I can't seem to find anything that shows how much ram my iPad has.
Also, similar to releasing or clearing cookies on my desktop, does the iPad also have this as something that needs to be cleared out occasionally?

Here is one app and there are others, mostly free, similar to it on itunes.
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/activity-monitor-top-free/id445279837?mt=8
From an ipad forums post :
If you experience your iPad running a bit slow you probably have a ton of applications running in the background. The iPad’s memory is limited, so in order to avoid performance issues you can close background applications by following the steps below.
. To close background applications press the Home button twice and when the recently used apps bar appears, tap and hold down the app you wish to close.
You will notice that after a second or two of holding down the icon, all the icons in the recently used apps bar will begin to move from side to side. You will also notice that a small red circle with a minus sign will appear on the top-left corner of the icon. Tap the red circle to close the background applications. Once you’ve closed several applications tap on the Home button again and you will return to the Home Screen or App you were using. Your iPad should feel a little snappier.

  • How much power is required from a USB port?

The 3rd gen Nano manual says that a "high-power USB port" is required (e.g., a un-powered USB hub won't work). If I buy a USB2 cardbus adapter (because my old laptop only has a USB 1 or 1.1 port), how much power is "high-power"?
D-Link sells such an adapter (DUB-C2) that says it has 500 ma per port. Is that enough power to charge Nano?

    100mAmps is low power.
    500mAmps is high power.
