You can check the Virtual Memory settings here: Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance > Settings (Advanced tab) 
Windows can manage more memory then is physical available and that memory is stored in a page file on your hard drive. 
If the size of that file is not large enough and all available memory is in use then you get the Virtual Memory is low warning. 
Make sure that you have at least 1 GB or the recommended setting for the Virtual Memory. 
If you have less than 1 GB physical memory installed on your computer then if possible add more memory.

Lately Firefox has been popping up a warning while I am on the internet saying, that "Firefox" is using too much memory. It suggests shutting down Firefox and restarting Firefox. It also told me how much memory that is in use at that time. It is usually about 235MB or more. What is normal memory use for Firefox to use while I am on the internet? Does high usage mean that some other person is trying to get into my computer?

From reading on the internet, it appears that when there is a spike in memory usage, AVG "interprets" that as a memory leak, possibly caused by malware. AVG could be incorrect concerning that assumption. Maybe they are being a bit too conservative about memory usage; just my opinion.
The decision is yours to turn off the "advisor" or leave it on.

Firefox keeps telling me i have version 3.5.3.6 after i have upgraded to version 4.0

i have tried to upgrade ff 3x's now. i would like to use the 4.0 version so that i may use the add on..Awesome Screenshot - Capture and Annotate 2.3
however, when i try to download it its telling me i need to upgrade. so i did. 3 times. each time it tells me im using the old version, please upgrade. i have even restarted the computer.

Why does it keep telling me I have too many tabs open even if I only have one or 2?

When I am online, several times a day it will not open a new tab and pop up a screen that tells me I have too many tabs open and gives me the option to let it close them or I can close them. But I may only have 1 tab open, sometimes more than that but it doesn't seem to matter how many. I can shut down my computer and bring it back up and it will work ok for a little while and then all of a sudden when I go to open a new tab it does it all over again. I am using mozilla and vista.

hello Marlin29, this is currently a problem in firefox when you first close all open firefox windows and then close the application afterwards - the bug should be addressed in a later version of firefox.
as a workaround in the meanwhile you could close firefox (through firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''.

I have the latest edition of the Flash player and it works fine with IE but Firefox keeps telling me I can play things because I dont have it

Since I updated Firefox I cant play anything that requires Flash player. I have the up to date player and it works perfectly with IE but Firefox keeps telling me I need another plug in and when I follow the instructions it says 'download failed try manual download' but even that fails too.
Before I updated Firefox I had no issues, can you help

You need to sign in when using Photoshop Elements 12 as it is the method of activation. If you sign out it deactivates that installation.

Why does AVG keep telling me that Mozilla is using too much memory and I have to close and reopen the program?

the Advisor is just telling you the same thing you can see for yourself in the Task Manager; I can open firefox with only a few tabs and then watch the memory usage skyrocket when Firefox should be doing nothing - after a couple of hours it will get up to as high as 1.5GB before it completely hangs and I have to end the process in Task Manager, and this does this with all extensions disabled and in Safemode.

If the toolbar installed something into the rest of the system, you will see an entry in the Control Panel in the software uninstall applet which should be removed. You might need to make a new profile if you cannot find an extension that has something to do with the toolbar.

It is kind of hard to reconstruct what you did exactly and it may be that things have gotten pretty messed up -- it's easy to do that with OSX. For starters, try running Disk Utility. First, verify your hard drive with the repair feature (there are probably four buttons that do 4 different things). If verify checks out okay, repair permissions. Depending upon which ones are messed it it may cure some of them but not all.
