Why won't my camera work in Facebook video call?

Have a new MacBook Pro running Mavericks. When I tried to use the video call feature in Facebook, it told me I didn;t have the necessary java to execute the install. I downloaded the file suggested online (Java for OS X 2014-001: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web plug-in and Web Start features) and the install went through. However, when I try to make a call it connects, I can see the other person's video and hear her/him but my camera does not activate (No green light. Person being called can hear me, but no picture appears for them). FaceTime works fine. Skype works fine. Google+ Hangout asks me to give permission to use camera, but hangs up. I also tried to make a FB video call in Safari and that did not work either (same problem).

Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

Okay, I have a problem. I go on a website called gamescene.com Created by Clever Media. Now, they have Solitaire, they call it just Solitaire. It was optimized to work with all iOs devices like the iPad and iPhone. And does not use shockwave. It is supposed to work right from the browser. I used to play it when it first started and then it just stopped working. The screen comes up but the game does not display. I emailed gamescene numerous times but they are unable to help me. I need to know if there is a setting in my Safari ot Mac that needs to be changed.

I believe that only the web site in question can answer your inquiry. Some sites, after all these years, are still not Mac-friendly. Contact them.
It was optimized to work with all iOs devices like the iPad and iPhone.
Mac OS and iOS are not the same thing. If optimized for iOS it may not be available for Mac OS.

This means, the error message will be shown in red and italic. This runs quite well when I use MyFace or JSF, i.e. in a JSP file. But if I use Facelets, i.e. in an xhtml file, this doesn't run well. Exactly to say, the error message will not be shown in red and italic, but just in black and normal.

If I use <h:message..> instaed of <h:messages>, it's ok.

Sounds like the iPhone is carrier locked with Vodafone and if so, it can't be used with another carrier's SIM card.
If so, only Vodafone can officially unlock the iPhone or send the unlock request to Apple.

Why won't my sound work on videos in facebook on my iPad2?

Why won't my sound work on my iPad when I try to hear videos on facebook? Oddly it works if I plug in headphones but it's hit and miss for videos. I tried making sure the lock switch is set to volume and the volume is turned up.

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

Yep, some, but not to many. I am always, most of the time running my cleaning utilities, like , Glary Utilities, Advanced Windows Care, Ashampoo 2010, cCleaner, Comodo System Cleaner, and Tweak Now Power Pack Reg Cleaner. But the Share-a-Holic has been working good up till recently. It works on Chrome most of time. I updated to the most recent FireFox browser, not 4, but 3.6 something.

Go to Settings>Sounds - go to the bottom of the screen, and make sure your Lock Sounds and Keyboard Clicks are turned to "On". Also, if they are already on that setting, turn them off and back on again to see if that fixes the issue.
If it doesn't, then reset your iPad (no data will be lost). Press the Home and Power buttons at the same time and hold them both down until the Silver Apple appears. After the Home screen comes back up, see if your issue is resolved.

facebook- I keep getting the message, you need to download latest version of flash player. I have tried several times to download latest version, but it never works on facebook.

Same thing here. After install of os x Maverick I have no Icon nor video chat of any kind on my macbook pro..I spent 1 hr with an Apple agent and he stated it's a FB issue not keeping up with the advance of Maverick . They also said I couldn't go back to Mountian lion because I did the istall .. So at this point nothing that I know of can be done . I have sent in a complaint to fb in which there is site there as well that has many complaints of our same isse.. HOPE SOMEONE CAN GET THIS SORTED SOON!

I spent 2, 1/2 hrs on chat with the service techs and even they couldn't figure out why when I try ti send messages the person's name comes up red and says they are not registered and a big red REMOVE is in the box. Video Chat works some places but not everywhere

My video chat works sometimes but it seems when I am at home it will not work with my internet? the people I am chatting with are on the same internet that they were on when it worked. Why is this? what can I change?

I would change the Bandwidth Setting in iChat Menu > Preferences > Video section > Bandwidth Limit drop down.
Start at 500kbps
Open the Connection Doctor (Video menu) during a chat.
Try other settings but allow the Buffering to smooth out the change as seen in the Bit rate becoming stable in the Connection Doctor.
Most Issues are about the amount of Internet Speed iChat 5 can see compared to other version which can impact on how much data you can send or receive.
In some cases this change can be impacted by Threshold controlled features in your modem or router (Turn Off SPI or DoS items).

Why dosen't I Tunes print the album artwork for jewell case inserts anymore. The artwork shows up but only prints a black square instead of the artwork?

I had this problem too. It has now been fixed in the latest update 11.0.1.12, and works like a charm again !
