so far i have found two websites that takes a very long time to load.
and once they get there very little of the links or anything does not work

After another restart, firefox has begun throwing errors when starting from terminal. the error reported is:
/opt/kde/bin/skim: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
This is printed 5 times, then gives up and firefox loads quickly after. So this appears to be an issue with skim and libpng similar to other problems being reported.
Some research uncovered that skim is no longer supported and is part of my kdemod3 install, however until this update it was working fine under kdemod4.

Why does "finishing sync" take a long time

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.3, connected to iMac 2010 running 10.7.5.
I have thousands of photos in iPhoto and have been syncing with my phone without a problem. I recently bought a Canon EOS Rebel, and synced a lot of photos in JPG mode with that camera also.
Last night, I took a dozen photos with the Canon, then imported them to iPhoto, no problem. But when I tried to sync with my iPhone, the new photos do not show up. I changed the sync settings to be "3 most recent events" but I don't get the event, or sometimes I have seen the event on the phone, but there are no photos in the folder.
Also, when syncing, iTunes shows "finishing sync" for a long time, like it is waiting for something.
I tried making an album with my new photos, and enabling syncing of that album, but that does not work either. Any ideas?

Did you check your security software (firewall and anti-virus)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

CS6 Takes a Long Time To Start

Windows 7, Photoshop CS6 13.0.1 x64. I updated from CS5 and all was well. Photoshop came up very fast when it was started. One day for a reason I've forgotten, I had to delete and reinstall CS6 and ever since then it's taken I'd estimate maybe 20 seconds to come up. If I shut CS6 down and restart it without rebooting the computer, it comes up relatively fast.
I'm assuming there is a file that should be starting on boot and apparently it got lost along the way. But I see nothing unusual in my startup file.
Any ideas?

Netflix, HBO Go, ABC Tv app on my apple tv take a long time to download my videos and they are choppy, how can I resolve this issue? My apple TV is running off of WiFi in my apartment.

Netflix, HBO Go, ABC TV along with other apple TV apps, take a very long time to download the video and they are choppy when running. My apple TV runs off of WiFi in my apartment. When trying to download updates, it take a long time and then a video screen with "This Update was not Successful. Apple TV couldn't be downloaded at this time. Try again later." What can I do to resolve this issue? I purchased this apple TV in May 2013 new.

What is your current connection via speedtest.net?
Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general -network)
Since you are in an apartment the local wifi network is more prone to interference, try ethernet

Why does downloading OSX Lion take so long??

i formatted the Hard Drive from Disk Utility in order to Re-install OSX Lion...The download time first shown was like 53 hours and then after like 10 minutes it went down to 10 hours...i am pretty sure thst the internet connection i have is very fast, so why does downloading OSX Lion take so long?

It's about 4GB, from memory, and the download speed can be affected from things like site traffic or variations in speed from your own ISP. But in general, it IS a very large download. Also never put your trust in a computer telling you how much time is left to download. As you can see, it recalculates everything more often and more quickly than the Tax Department! (Oh, and don't watch it. You know the old saying)

Why does downloading from iCloud take so long now?

I've been using Match since it was released. I'm used to the download times required for hour-length albums, playlists, and hi-def TV programs.
My memory is that a year ago, downloading an hour-long music album that was bought on iTunes in iTunes Plus format (256Kbs) took abouit 5-10 mins. So why does it now take ONE HOUR?!?
Likewise, my memory is that a year ago, downloading an hour-long hi-def TV episode that was bought on iTunes took abouit 20-30 mins. So why does it now take TWO HOURS?!?
My infrastructure is the same: broadband connection with over 100Mbps down, iPhone 4s, iPad 3.
WHY has downloading from Match gotten SO SLOW on iOS devices? On my new iMac it is blazing fast. And a year ago, it was rather quick (as detailed above).
Anyway who has info on this, would greatly appreciate seeing it posted. Thanks.

I was away for 9 days came home to my computer not responding. I am using the free version of AVG security and read the instructions in the Mozilla help Re: Firewalls, changing the AVG settings removing Mozilla and then adding it back in. However I checked for updates on AVG none were available and the instructions Mozilla has are for a version of AVG that I do not have. I am using 8.5 and I think the instructions were for 9.0. At any rate I am stuck, and desperately need to get this figured out! I hope that this is enough information for someone to point me in the right direction.? Your help is be greatly appreciated. Hi, original poster here. I did not realize this would generate more discussion so I never checked back. I still had my warranty, so I took it to the store and got it repaired. The original problem I had was a screen with this icon flashing when I attempted to boot it up:
When I took it to the store, they told me that my computer was unable to communicate with the hard drive. I had this same problem three times in two months where this screen reappeared. Each time I went back to the store and they said the cause was different, but they were all hardware issues that physically made it impossible to communicate with the hard drive. After the third time, they simply replaced my laptop and I haven't had the same problem.
So in short: The reason you can't reinstall or move anything when you encounter this screen appears to be because nothing can communicate with the hard drive in the first place. You can't reach the disk or anything on it. So I don't believe it's possible to do anything besides take it to a physical store and have it fixed.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

Why Safari takes much long time than other browser to open a page?

I have used windows since start of my computing life... Now i have replaced my windows laptop to a macbook pro.. Everything is amazing.. except only one. Safari.. I experience it takes too long time for openning a webpage...even for a simple webpage...takes much more time for loading a flash... I dont know why Safari is taking too many times as compared to other web browsers...

Firefox 5 seems to take a long time to download ...is that right...I mean...more than 5 min...I finally stopped the download...

I think it's very fishy that Repair Disk took 40 hours -- it seems like any operation that touches the hard drive on the Time Capsule takes a long time. Maybe the hard drive is having problems? What sort of problems could a drive have that would make everything VERY slow, but still successful?
Try connecting via an Ethernet cable; see what effect that has. Everything should be faster, of course, but not wildly. Just as an example, I'm doing backups to a USB hard drive via my Airport Extreme, about 15 feet from my iMac. When I first started that way, I did a full backup via Ethernet (about 21 gb/hour), then erased it and ran again wirelessly (about 12 gb/hour).
Even 5 feet apart, you may have some sort of interference or other communications problem; if Ethernet is many times faster, then you may need to have your TC and/or wireless card examined.

While importing a flat file of fixed width ,
in the screen "Flat File Sample Wizard" shows the text box number of rows with default value 200.
I want to extend this value to 700,000.
But, it takes too long time (over 5 hours) to sample it.
Do you know why it is happend? or How can i fix this problem?

Actually flat file sampling process goal is to capture the structure of the file. Thats why initially the sample size is set to 200 lines.
The question is why you are trying to perform sampling by 700000 rows? Are you expecting some change in structure beyond this mark?
If so, and you want to capture the fact that your source file is multi typed, your better prepare small file for sampling outside the OWB.
