Why during updating of Acrobat 9 Pro to Acrobat XI Pro my serial number doesn't work? Do I actually need to buy an update?

Can anybody help me with this problem?

acrobat xi is an upgrade (not free and not an update) from acrobat 9.
you can update acrobat 9 (to the last version 9) here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

There was no new serial needed to update from Logic 9 to 9.1.7
If your Logic 9 was an upgrade from Logic 8 it may be asking you for your original Logic 8 Full serial first and then your Logic 9 Upgrade serial...
Otherwise, it's best to call Apple directly and get them to help you...

Final Cut Pro 7 Serial Number does not work

After the latest Apple Update my FCP program puts up a requestor box wanting the serial number. When I put the number in the box says Incorrect. I've tried everything like changing 0 to O to copy and pasting and keying in. Nothing works. What did Apple do in the last update to screw up FCP?

We have see a few related posts, try searching for serial number.
I assue you, nothing was perpetrated by Apple during the recent ProApp updates. You can usually download them as a stand alone installer instead of getting them as an automatic script.

Re-install of Acrobat 8 Pro - invalid serial number

I did a factory reset via the restore partition. When installing Acrobat 8 Pro, the serial number is stated as being invalid. It was the serial number before re-installation.
Vista 32 bit, SP1 and up-to-date on all OS updates.

If your Acrobat was an update, it may be the request for the previous SN.

When I open the documents, I can't click the tool box. but when I don't open the documents, I can use the tool box.
To solve the problem,
1. reinstall the menu.
2. reboot the computer.
But, It still didn't work.

Was it AA X Std that you had these options in (sorry, I only have Pro)? If it was the trial (that is Pro), it may be that Std does not have to feature. Under XI at the Adobe site, there is a comparison of features between Std and Pro that might give you a hint.
There is also an option to turn on or hide many tools. For me there is a small icon just above the tools...comment titles. If you select that it give a list of tools you can display. Often, several are not displayed by default. How you lost them is another things, but it is getting them that is the basic question.

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. Also, you can only use it on two computers if they belong to the same person, are used only by that one person, and are not used at the same time. To install on two computers for two people needs two licenses. Adobe sell volume licenses, but do not sell an "all the computers in the office" license.

Theres almost a trick to it for first time users, goto SETTINGS...General......Cellular (if Verizon) ....Personal Hotspot, turn it on.....turn on wifi on your Mac, select your Iphone. Enter password.
If you take too long doing it, youll need turn turn off and on real quick the "personal hotspot" slider on the Phone.......then go quick again thur the Mac.
