Why EAI(XI) is needed

Dear all;
i have one question regarding why XI or EAI  has to be used against direct development,  is fundamental question, but very important..
As far as i know, advantage is below;
1. make stadard pattern to build development easily.
2. central management, centeral monitoring.
i would like to know why EAI(XI) is needed for technical key point except for  above advantage ?
please do not mention SOA, BPM and SAP XI Contents, just look inside technical key point.
thank you in advance
Dennis

  • 9iAS : WHY THE HELL I NEED A CDROM ?

    Anyone wanna to laugh ?
I've here one computer that it does not have a CD-ROM! I unzip 9iAS disks installation to the HARDDRIVE, and i try to install just clicking on ISETUP from the the 1st disk!
I get an error "NO CD-ROM available"! WHY THE HELL i need a cd-rom i thought! And the installer shut off and don't give me a chance to install! Of course i went to other directories and found a SETUP.EXE and try it... but... BUGS, BIGS, BUGS... Some services wont start, sometime RUNTIME errors... etc!
So, i thought... ORACLE for sure made an alliance with CREATIVE CD-ROM'S department and in every program they made a routine to check if a CD-ROM is present... and i install a CD-ROM on the computer and try it again...
EUREKA... Setup launch from disk... but the CD-ROM presence WAS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
THIS IS FOR ORACLE GUYS... Why the HELL i need a CD-ROM if i install 9iAS from HARD DISK ????
    Someone should be lay off!!!!!

    Hi Joao,
One possible solution is to use the silent install methods outlined in Chapter 6 of the install guide. The iSetup.EXE launcher is specifically designed for use from the CD's, since that is the most common method of distribution. However, you can also run the installation silently or semi-silently, depending on how much information you provide in the response file. The response files are organized on the first CD under the \silent\<install_type> directories.
If you are installing the Enterprise Edition, please pay special attention to the silent install chapter, as there are several steps involved in handling the 8.0.6 RSF-based components to ensure that they are installed properly.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Larry

  • Why does Sun Studio need NetBeans?

    Hi!
Why does Sun Studio need a NetBeans installation for running successfully? If I am not too wrong, I believe Sun Studio has the same relation to the NetBeans project as Star Office has to OpenOffice.org?
Now, coming to the solution. I am using Sun Studio 12 on Solaris:
    amit@opensolaris:~$ sunstudio --netbeanshome /export/home/amit/netbeans-6.5beta/bin/
    Validating NetBeans IDE at: "/export/home/amit/netbeans-6.5beta/bin/"
Sun Studio is unable to find a supported version of the NetBeans IDE at the specified location.
Sun Studio requires a NetBeans IDE version 5.5.1 with NetBeans C/C++ Development Pack version 5.5.1
installed. Sun Studio looks for a valid NetBeans IDE installation in the following order:
    1) Location specified with --netbeanshome command line option
    2) At /opt/netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
    3) At /opt/SUNWspro/../netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
    4) At /opt/SUNWspro/../../netbeans-5.5.1 location, if exists
Please run the System Preparation Tool (prepare_system), if available, to set up your environment.
As is apparent, I have a NetBeans 6.5 Beta build.
    What is the solution?
    Thanks,
    Amit

The realtionship from SunStudio to NetBEans is more than a line from A to B.
Ideally SunStudio releases would track NetBeans releases.
However, NetBeans evolves at a rather fast pace. At the same time SunStudio
also contains compilers which have their own products to coordinate with ...
OS releases, new SPARC chips and Sun system releases.
These releases never coincide so SunStudio tends to lag in it's dependencies
on NetBeans and as a result ships with it's own copy.
We used to actually build our own, sometimes tweaked, NetBeans for SunStudio.
Weve made some progress in that we just pick released NetBeans bits and re-ship them.
We're working on the ability for SunStudio to use NetBeanses which are already
    installed.
To make older SunStudios use newer NetBeans is a tougher proposition but
we're dedicating grey cells to that matter as well.
If you really want a NB 6.5 based SunStudio wait a bit. We'll be releasing
SunStudio SX based on NB 6.5 shortly.

  • If RuneScape uses Java 3D why don't you need to install it?

I was just wondering if RuneScape uses Java 3D, why doesn't anyone need to install it? Is it because the game is intirely server side and all the graphics and stuff is done over on their servers and not on your own computer? Thanks.

Most likely, you have a web plugin that depends on the Java runtime distributed by Apple, such as the Facebook video calling plugin or the "NexDef" plugin for watching baseball streams. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it, including its automatic update mechanism (if any) according to the developer's instructions. Otherwise, install Java.

  • Why is "FROM AGENT" needed at all in workflow AQ

When enqueuing a message from workflow to AQ, to be picked up by external application. It is intuitive to me to specify a "TO AGENT" which is my intended target queue for the message.
My question is: Why is "FROM AGENT" needed at all. I know if I don't specify a "FROM AGENT" workflow will select a default outbound agent to forward my message. This step seems to be redundant. Why is it necessary at all?
I know from an external application I can enqueue directly to my "TO AGENT" queue and it will be picked up by workflow. In this case there is no "FROM AGENT" step.
    Thanks for any answer,
    Yves

When the Business Event System sends an event message, it places the event message on the queue of the outbound From Agent to be propagated to the To Agent. Some customers may want to specify which outbound queue the message is placed on. Therefore, the From Agent option is provided.
As you mentioned, the From Agent is optional. If necessary, the Business Event System will select an outbound agent on the local system whose queue type matches the queue type of the To Agent. So you do not have to specify any From Agent if you do not want to. But the capability to specify the outbound queue is provided to give greater control to those customers who want it.

  • Why does RMI client needs to specify codebase

    Anyone,
I'm trying out a dynamic class loading tutorial.
my question is why does the client need to define
    java.rmi.server.codebase.
I can understand why the server needs it, as it is downloading classes
it does not have information about. But why does the client need to specify the codebase

The client has to annotate the codebase property if it is calling remote methods with parameters, whose subtypes are not defined in the server. This way server has a change to dynamically locate and load those classes from specified codebase.

  • Why exactly do we need BPM in XI?

    Hi,
Why exactly do we need BPM in XI?

    Hi Jeba,
BPM in XI is ccBPM - i.e. cross component BPM
It is used to control complex document choreography - e.g. when you need to wait for two different types of messages to arrive and then send out another message of a 3rd type, or when you need to wait for a series of messages to arrive, and combine them into a single message to be sent out.
You don't need it for simple mappings.
Strongly suggest you read the FAQ at the top of the forum and also take a look at http://service.sap.com/bpms to get some background.

    Jocelyn

  • Why Solution Manager is needed?

    Hello
I just want to know why Solution Manager is needed? especially for SAP BI project

    Hi,
First, Solution Manager is absolutely necessary to generate installation key for SAP product (i.e.ECC). Second, the new level of SP (released after Feb)  needs approval from saposs before downloading from ur download basket, so you always have to ask them to approve ur request. Using Solman, u can download the package automatically.
The rest is, Solman offers many functionality to manage your systems easily by making it centralized, such as change / transport management, monitoring, document repository, configuration, and many more...

  • With iCloud Photos why do we still need Photo Stream

After installing Yosemite I set up iCloud photos on my iMac, phones and iPads and it works fine.  Why do I still need or have selections for Photo Stream?  Wouldn't that go away?

I had exported all of my photos from iPhoto and then used the Photos app on iCloud.com to upload them. At this time, only JPEGs are able to be uploaded via iCloud.com. I had a few PNGs in my collection, which I email to myself and using one of my iCloud Photo Library enabled devices saved the photo which uploads it to iCloud Photo Library that way.
Some decisions have to be made on how you export from iPhoto/Aperture and thus which photo versions you'll be copying to iCloud Photo Library. Uploading photos to iCloud Photo Library using iCloud.com does not upload a version that contains non-destructive edits. For example, let's say using iPhoto you did a crop and changed contrast. You then export the Current version of the photo and upload the file to iCloud.com. You cannot then use your iPhone and select Revert to original to get rid of that crop and contrast change you performed in iPhoto. The file you uploaded with the edits WAS the original in this case. You can make additional edits to the photo on your iPhone or iPad and Revert those changes however.
Now, if you like the way your photos currently are in your library and those are the versions you want to work with going forward, then in iPhoto choose Export and change Kind to Current. Then, upload those.
If you want to upload clean, unedited, start from scratch photos, then change Kind to Original when you export from iPhoto and upload those.
The other option is to just wait until the Photos app comes out for the Mac which will more than likely be able to upload all of the nondestructive edits done in iPhoto. In my case, I chose to upload unedited originals. Hope this helps. Sorry for rambling.

  • I am not getting software alerts on my iPad 2 - why? Do I need to change settings and where can I find and how do I download ios5

I am not getting software alerts on my iPad 2 - why? Do I need to change my settings. Where do I find the latest iOS software and how do I install. Thanks!

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • Does anybody know why FM CRM_UPLOAD_BTMBDOC_FILL is needed

    Hello
Does anybody know why FM CRM_UPLOAD_BTMBDOC_FILL is needed. I know it Maps data from API into BDOC bt it doesnt tell me that much
    Thanks

    Hi,
This particular FM is a generic FM which is used to fill data into BDOC in the case of uploading a data from CRM.
For Example,  For a Quotation to get uploaded to BW, this FM will be used in SAPLCRM_BWA_MAP thro a Include.

  • Why did we really need this "spanning-tree extend system-id" command?

    Folks,
On the Spanning tree protocol I understood how does this spanning-tree extend system-id command work.
But I have not understood why it is in place? or why do we really need it?
    Regards,
    Nikhil Kulkarni.

    Hi Nikhil,
The STP and RSTP standard specifications mandate that each switch running STP/RSTP must have a unique Bridge ID (BID). Because Cisco runs STP or RSTP in each VLAN separately (called PVST and RPVST or PVRST), in each VLAN, the switch behaves like a standalone (albeit virtual) switch and thus, each STP/RSTP instance is required to have a unique BID to comply with the standard. Simply, having X VLANs means having X separate STP/RSTP instances and X unique BIDs.
The question now is how to make sure the BIDs of STP/RSTP instances run on the same switch in different VLANs are truly unique. Older switches actually had a large reserve of MAC addresses. As new VLANs were created, these switches allocated a new MAC address for each new STP/RSTP instance in a new VLAN (recall that the BID originally consisted of the priority and the MAC address), making the BIDs unique.
However, the consumption of MAC addresses this way was simply too large and ineffective. At the same time, having 65536 different values for priority in the BID was largely useless. So IEEE came with the idea of Extended System ID in which they reused a part of the priority field for a unique instance identifier. In Cisco's implementation, this field is populated with the VLAN number the STP/RSTP instance runs in. This easily and effectively makes the BID unique - even with the same priority for all VLANs on a single switch, and a single switch MAC address, multiple STP/RSTP instances running on this same switch with the same priority have different BIDs thanks to different VLAN numbers embedded into the BID.
Some switch platforms actually allowed you to deactivate the Extended System ID and revert to the older style of assigning unique MAC addresses to individual STP/RSTP instance BIDs. That is why the command spanning-tree extend system-id exists in the first place. However, removing this command is only possible on those switching platforms which are equipped with 1024 MAC addresses for their disposal. Most new switching platforms have only 64 MAC addresses for their internal use, and while the spanning-tree extend system-id command is present in their configuration, you can not remove it. It is simply there to inform you that the Extended System ID is being used but you can not really deactivate it.
