Hi mohan,
in this Customizing table you define the description for an equipment category. This allows you to control which basic characteristics a equipment master record such as a vehicle master record should have. Using these control characteristics, you can decide how many and which equipment categories you require.

If the exception is being handled by the caller, meaning that the exception is listed in the EXCEPTIONS section of the
funciton call, then the program will handle it gracefully and continue processing,if it is not in this section of the
funciton call, and it is raised inside the funciton module,
it will issue an ABAP dump and end. This is true for
foreground processing as well as background processing.

Why is Messages.app using my location?

By chance, I happened to notice the 'location' icon in the menu bar, it was saying the Messages.app was using my location... Why? I've got my iPhone set to be the source of location (Settings->iCloud->Advanced->Share My Location) so I'm happy with that, but I'm puzzled as to why the Messages app on the Mac would be using it? Google hasn't turned up anything, and it doesn't seem that there is anything on this forum either?
I do understand I can switch this off in the settings, my question is "why is the app using my location?", what is the reason?

I am not sure I explained it that well.
Before iMessages Phones used to send SMS messages.
The identifier you saw depended on what the other phone gave out.
In the UK that tends to be the Carrier service as Area Code and then the Number. That means my carrier gets 7973 preceded by an 0 for the British telephone system.
Obviously most people I know have UK telephone number of UK mobile phone services numbers.
The Messages app on the Mac can use the iPhone Number but does so over the Internet and not by the Phone service
The App then has the Country Code set.
If your Phone number in he Contacts app does not list the Country Code then this adds it.
As far as I can tell it adds it to all numbers that are missing the Country Code (most people collect the 11 digit number with the leading 0)
Of course the chances are your iPhone is not always where your computer it either.
As for the Time Servers. Apple has three based around the world and you can enter your own if you wish.
I would guess that all of them are linked to a master time device at some point.
On the other hand it is strange that it appears in the Menu Bar when it has not before.

Whenever I go to iTunes with my iPod 5th generation 32 gb iPod Touch, running iOS 8.0.2, It tells me that the "Other" category is using up 14.59 gb of data. I have no clue why it says this and I have searched the internet for fixes and none worked.

I have tried restoring to a backup but that didn't help. I haven't had time to do a full restore but I will try if the problem persists.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

Why can i NOT use "differential" on the MAX test panel for channels 8-16??

I have a USB-6218
This is a 32 channel device with 16 Differential inputs.
Why can't i use the MAX test panel to view any channel beyond AI-7 using the Differential setting? It shades out differential even though my device has this capability.

I am using MAX 4.1.0.3001 in conjunction with LV 8.0 and the USB-6218.
I go to MAX, Expand devices, expand MX devices, Right click on the USB-6218 (device2), and go to the test panels.
From there i am unable to view any differential pair beyond 8.
How am i supposed to Thru-Calibrate my equipment? Generally to achieve a valid calibration i use MAX itself to record the raw voltages the board "sees" as i apply known loads to the sensors.
The reason i need to check all this out is because DIFF pairs > 8 also are not working in my VI! Im am not sure if this is related or not.

Functional Location Category/ Equipment Category

Greetings!
In Plant Maintenance, my client wants to see a typical FL (say category 'M')/ Equipment category in the system & not the standard SAP created or FL/ Equipment categories created by Customer Service. This is to avoid wrong input entries as well as easier operation.
How is it possible? Is there any implication of the same?

I want to know, of many Equipment/ FL categories created; I want to have only one or two visible to particular end user.
Say I have 3 Equipment categories;
1) Machine
2) PRT &
3) Vehicle.
Of the 3 may be PRT & Vehicle will be used by some other module. So I just want category M to be visible to the end users of Plant Maintenance. How do I do it?

Authorizations for changes on a Equipment Category

How I can stop the changes for a single category of equipment? I'd like to block the IE02 transaction for a certain category of equipment leaving the authorization to make changes on the equipments of others categories.

As We all know, the use of Partner Determination Procedure is to assign Partner Function into it, and when we create the the Equipment, We can assign Desired Partner Optionally. For Example, you could assign Person Responsible (link it with HR module) to get who will responsbile when the equipment is broken, lost, etc.
other benefit, it is also possible to transfer the equipment's Partner Determination Procedure into Notification's Partner Determinatiion Procedure. Please, Correct me if I'm wrong.
In the end, it's depends on your business Process to use Partner Determination Procedure or not.

The Business requires us to control IE01/IE02 by "Equipment category" types. Already taalked to security folks. But looks like there is no authorization object to control by "Equipment category". There is only one field "EQTYP" but that is not related to any of the Authorization Objects. How do we take care of this? We don't want the users to change or create all the equipment types. To do this, define two authorization groups and assign these to the two users 'A' and 'B' in their user master record.
The equipment must also be assigned to the two authorization groups.
The two users can then only process objects from their own user department.
Notes
If no authorization group is entered in an object, the check is not carried out. If this is the case, the user may process the object.

Equipment Category - Need two characters

Hi All,
I have a requirement where in equipments variety is huge. If I use standard equipment categories then I can create only 26+10=36 equipment categories.
I have requirement for equipment categories that might go beyond 36 numbers. And hence I need equipment category should have two characters.
Please let me know if we can increase the equipment category length from 1 to 2.

I know its odd requirement. As I told you this requirement is for multiple locations and different indstry and different products and our client is only one.
Also I can use object types, etc. for it and I may not require equipment categories more than 36 nos, but this was just thought if in case I require two characters category then wherther anyone came across such requirement or not?
But it seems nobody had such huge requirement.....anyways thanks for your inputs.

Equipment Category

We have created an equipment with external number range and category 'M'. Then we realized that 'M' is wrong equipment category and put deletion flag on the equipment. Then we created new equipmnet with equipment category 'P' but system gives an error that equipment already exist, though we have putted deletion flag on wrong equipment. 'M' and 'P' have different reference category. How can we create new equipment with same equipment ID ? Is it possible to archieve the wrong equipment and then to create new equipment with 'P' as equipment category. Please give some information. What is t code to archieve equipments.

Is there any way to give authorization to Equipment Category,
I found only I_BEGRP for Authorization Group in the Equipment, or I_INGRP for Maintenance Planner Group.
