Why Excel documents (xls.)be showen white since this week?!

Last week it works fine, chart was showen and all numbers....
Please I need help .....

I dont use any app, just shown from emails.
I know there is a difference between xls and xlsx. but there are just xls documents...

Why can't I use old Airport Express this week after power outage?

After purchasing a new Airport Express station, my older one was also able to work (the older is Model A1084). It connected "under" the tree of the new Express in the new Airport Utility (under OS 10.10.1 Yosemite). I could see the same hierarchy on my iMac and iPhone with the Airport Utility. More importantly, I could stream music to speakers connected to the older Express Station.
But after a power outage last night, I had to turn off all devices. The Wi-fi network is up and running EXCEPT for the older Airport Express. When I try to connect it I get the message "The Airport Express named (Name) cannot be set up by this software. Go to apple.com/support/airport for more informat
1. Is is possible to get the older version of the Utility software installed so I can set up this older device?
2. If it worked two days ago, why would it stop with the power outage?

Unfortunately no, at least not on the newer OS X versions. Basically since OS X Lion, Apple stopped supporting the older 802.11g AirPort base stations. You would to use either a pre-Lion Mac or a Windows-based PC to administer these older base stations.
2. If it worked two days ago, why would it stop with the power outage?
Not sure how you were able to administer the Express using v6.x of the AirPort Utility before. It shouldn't have been possible.

Disk Utility unable to Verify/Repair Permissions since this week's update

Hey there folks- I am experiencing some software problems with certain apps not launching (I understand it is an issue with QT now but am not clear on how to revert... Help?) and naturally panicked a bit.
I went into Disk Utility and tried to Repair Permissions.
Starts checking and then claims to lose connection and that I need to quit it and relaunch. This, of course, tells me that I am about to corrupt the disk and will "pay" for it (not seriously but feels like it!).
Anyone know what I can do to fix this as I really cannot, this minute, afford to reformat as I am working flat out with the machine.
So- review- unable to repair permissions and sometimes the machine runs slower than usual on the net as well as no longer launching some applications. Missing a few too but I can live with that!
Any help VERY gratefully received.

As for QT- I hear tell that it can interfere with the running of applications and I certainly had a lot more than just Disk Utility fail on me. Stuff APPEARS to launch and then just stops after a few bounces of the icon on the dock.
Of course that TOO began only after the update.
I have to say- if it weren't for your calming influence I'd have freaked by now. I mean- how can we trust the updates if they cause such agro?!

Have you looked at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article? There is a lot of useful information in there. They actually list 2 different PDF plugins. I'd give both a try if you are having issues.

Audition CS5.5 Problems since this week's Windows 8 Updates

Audition CS5.5 was working fine yesterday until ...... I installed this week's mega monthly patches from Microsoft (all 14).
On opening up Audition and opening a file (any file), it won't play, rewind, in fact anything. No error message. System rebooted numerous times.
Tried unistalling each of the Windows updates to determine which was causing the problem, but ended up having to use System Restore.
Any suggestions/help, please?

Usually means that Audition can't see the sound card. So what sound card are you using and what Windows drivers for it?

Just a little claritification, you need to add the value to the variable "[string]$ou", and also change the language in the variable "$emailbody" in the function "Get-ADUserPasswordExpirationDate".

i have to acept a excel document and convert it to the tempravory database and allow the user to edit .if the user have changed anything it should change the details in the excel document.

I dont have time to explain what datasource is but you can create one as :
I have Windows XP box here, to do it you need to go to
Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Data Source(ODBC) >> System DSN >> Add >> select Excel sheet driver >> hit ok then it will ask you for datasource name now give what ever name you want to give and select your excel file from select tab.
And that's it now use the datasource name in "jdbc:odbc:your datasource name "

When you upgrade the Numbers app, the old version is not deleted. It is your responsibility to assure that you are using the one you want and need. Don't be too hasty in assuming that you are being somehow cheated either. The old version of Numbers is far better than the newer one, except for a few improvements to cross-platform compatibility in the "upgrade".
Look in Applications for Numbers 3 and in Applications > iWork for Numbers 2.

Hi. Nothing has changed, we have not updated any software When I try to open the Excel document which is saved I get the microsoft error reporting message wayting that microsoft excel has enocuntered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If I then try and click on Excel itself either from the dock or from the tool bar it will not open, a message comes up saying Excel saved changes to the file before the application qit unexpectedly. Do you want to open the last saved version of this file? It make no difference if you click cancel or open.
Therefore I am unable to create a simple spreadsheet as excel just will not open.
Word and Powerpoint I said earlier were fine, however this is only if you open from the tool bar. From the dock nothing happens.
Any ideas?
Oh I can in finder quick look at the document and all details are there, I just cant open it.

Thanks in advance for reading this and offering any wisdom you have! I am not an expert in any of the following, so apologies if off base.
The basic problem is: I need to use Excel 2013 to support Excel 2003 (XLS) spreadsheets containing VBA 'CommandBars' references which don't seem to work in Excel 2013. Details below.
Most of our users are still using older desktop windows PCs and Office 2003! We are beginning to upgrade to laptops running Windows 8.1 with Office 2013. Of course, we IT technical people are using the new laptops first. These new laptops are
64 bit.
Years ago, someone did a lot of development with spreadsheets here in Excel 2003 file formats that automates many activities and routines. Now we with the new laptops are having to support this development using new machines.
There is a basic compatibility issue that appears when first opening these Excel 2003 files that have VBA code that I'll detail below; I seem able to get by that problem.
The current problem appears to be that the existing Excel 2003 VBA code has many references to: "For Each bar In Application.CommandBars". As I've learned, the Application.CommandBars VBA functionality is focused on older MS Office versions' menu
commands, but "...Starting from Office 2007 the Fluent UI is used instead." In other words, because MS Office isn't menu-driven beginning with version 2007 (uses 'the ribbon'), it appears that these references to: "For Each bar In Application.CommandBars"
create a basic incompatibility to opening these spreadsheets in Office 2013.
For a spreadsheet, after I resolve the issue detailed below and save it, when I reopen it I encounter error "Compile error: can't find project or library."
For example, the following code snippet:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
For Each bar In Application.CommandBars
bar.Enabled = False
Next
results in: "Compile error: can't find project or library."
(Sorry, can't include images yet, I am not a VERIFIED USER of this forum yet.)
I went into VBE's menu: Tools>References and check for anything marked MISSING, which I deselected. But I am still receiving this error.
I don't want to get into changing the code a lot to support both Excel 2003 and 2013 (I am no VBA expert, just a dabbler).
And Microsoft officially says that Office 2003 is incompatible with Windows 8 although Application.CommandBars seem to be somewhat supported in Office 2013 .
Are you aware of a quick VBA workaround to get by this?
•I could comment out the validations, commands for: "For Each bar In Application.CommandBars" but then the spreadsheet code probably won't work for users using Office 2003.
Alternatives would be:
•Installing Office 2003 on my Win 8.1 64 bit laptop anyway, in spite of MS's saying incompatible, since this thread discusses at least one person has been able to use Office 2003
•Keeping one older PC with Office 2003 on it for us to support the old Office 2003 code until everyone upgrades their systems

Basic compatibility issue that seems solvable:

The code in this project must be updated for use on 64-bit systems.
Please review and update Declare statements and then mark them with the PtrSafe attribute.
This seems resolvable by going into the VBA code and just adding element 'PtrSafe' where functions are declared; in other words, replacing VBA code "Declare Function" with "Declare PtrSafe Function" seems to get by this.

How can I display Excel document saved as html in ebDynpro Office Contol?

I have a problem with displaying of Excel document saved as html inside WebDynpro Office Control.
Could you explain why OfficeControl cannot display Excel document with content type =text/htm?
How you know, control must be bound to binary data. And then mime type is set as
bin.setMimeType(new WebResourceType("html", "text/html", false));
The empty document is displayed always.
Nevertheless, excel file is displayed perfect, when
bin.setMimeType(new WebResourceType("xls ", "application/msexcel", false));

The OfficeControl UI element is made available as an ActiveX control, so that the UI element can be displayed in browsers that support ActiveX controls.
The ActiveX control enables display of the following documents:
1.Microsoft Word documents with the doc file extension
2.Microsoft Excel documents with the xls file extension
This is the reason why document with other content types are not displayed.
Data source must be bound to binary data because files are read as bytes in this scenario.

But I was expecting that if I saved it again, either as xls oe xlsx, then I would be able to open the newly-saved document in iWorks '08. This is not the case, any ideas why? cheers, Matt.
