Why export audio to movie command not visible and detect cuts command is not working in 64bit mode?

Does anyone know why export to audio disappear from menu in 64bit mode?
Why detect cuts command is not working well in 64 bit mode?
I tested on several machines (brand-new iMac, brand-new MacPro with 10.8 OS, MacPro with 10.6.8),and everythig wotks in 32 bit mode. As I switch to 64 bit mode detect cuts only put one marker at the begening of film.
I also noticed that Firewire output option in 64bit mode is not avaible.
Is there a certain film format that I have to use to make it work? I tried DV PAL, but I had ther same result.
Thanks a lot.

  • DVD drive not visible and detected

    Hi,
I'm using windows 7 home 64bit on HP Pavilion dv4-3031tx notebook. Few months ago, I changed my DVD rom drive from HP service center as the burning option was not working. After changing, it was working fine. Now the drive is not visible when I open my computer. I installed all the drivers again from the recovery manager provided by the HP recovery disk, but still it remains same. Strange thing is when I insert my recovery disk and reboot my notebook seleting boot from DVD option, notebook can detect the disk and approaches for OS installation. If possible, I want to slove this problem instead of reinstalling windows from recovery disk as I have tons of programs installed in HD. Please give an effective solution. I'm really worried.
    Thanks in advance.

It is a fairly common problem and there is a Microsoft Autofix for it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116
You can run the autofix but I have had better luck with doing the manual registry edit which is also outlined on the link.
This is called the upper/lower filters problem and is the very low level driver built into Windows.

  • Logic 9 "Export Audio to Movie" command

What happened to the "Export Audio to Movie" command that used to be under the file menu? This is something I sorely need back.Trying to import audio into Motion 5 is not working out well - even with rendering set at the lowest settings (same with FCP10). I like to be able to see my results as I'm working, not watch choppy playback and guess where to drop in the audio. I'm running an 8 core Mac Pro with 32 G of RAM and I'm wondering if anyone has used a good work around for this problem. I wish I never updated.

I just used Quicktime Player to open the movie and dragged a bounced down version of my Logic audio on top of it. I "Saved As" and it worked fine!

  • Export Audio to Movie - NOT IN SYNC ANYMORE in 9.1??

This is either a major, major bug or I am completely out of it.
When I do an export audio to movie command, the resulting Quicktime movie has the audio and video not synced as they were in Logic.
I have just upgraded to 9.1 and Snow Leopard 10.6.2 this week. I am having this problem with the 32-bit version of Logic.
Most of my sessions have the movie start time pushed forward or back to suit the start of the audio. I had NO problem in 9.0.2 with this feature.
ALSO.... what's the deal with the the 64-bit Audio bridge plug-in windows? Do we always have to do a double-click to open the actual GUI now-on? Totally s**ks.
    Thanks.

Are the movie start times and sequence start times the same? For example, do both the music and the audio start at beat 1, bar 1?
I've found that Logic 9 doesn't maintain the same sync that your project has. In other words, if your video doesn't have a 'pre-roll', but your audio has a one bar count in, then the "bounce to movie" feature will have audio that is out by 1 bar. It's kinda dumb, because Logic should be smart enough to know you want to export the same audio/video sync as you have in your project. But alas it doesn't work that way...
Other possible culprits are latency-inducing plugs on the master bus, like limiters and 3rd party DSP plugins (UAD, Duende, etc).
One workaround I've started using is to bounce my audio mix first, then bring it back on a clean track and trim it to start on the exact same frame as the movie. Then solo the 'mix' audio track and "export to movie" (being sure to bypass any master buss plugins first, so the mix doesn't get processed a 2nd time). this usually works, and also makes it easier to keep track of revised mixes as you go ahead (just make copies of your 'mix' track and mute earlier versions).
    good luck.

  • Logic8 will not let me Export Audio to Movie

So...I have had another weird one.
Normally (in LP7) when I am working with a movie file that has audio attached to it and I want to Export Audio to Movie, Logic brings up a screen before it bounces which shows me what audio is currently attached to the movie and gives me the option to exclude or include that audio in the bounce. Since going 8 that window does not show up. Ever. Logic mixes what I want to bounce with what is already on the movie.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    I've solved my problem!
    First I tried to export audio to a "Apple Motion JPEG A, 768 x 576, 16,7 Mill." Movie - that doesn't work! After converting the reels to "H.264 Decoder, 720 x 480 (853 x 480), 16,7 Mill." - exporting works as before :o))
    Try it...

  • Export audio to movie - not compatible mp4 !

Hi, I thought Logic X would solve compatibility issues with movie files but I can't "Export Audio to movie" with this format:
    AVC Coding, 1280 x 720
    AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)
Logic X seems to do it but spits out files about 21KB small.
Anyone noticed this and knows a solution that does not mean converting the mp4 into a different format? This is terrible, I work with different quicktime files every day..
    Thanks folks,

    Hi Anton
This is a known bug in Logic on the intel macs. We're all hoping this will be fixed in the next version!
    There are a few workarounds...
bounce the audio for your movie. Open it in Quicktime pro. Open the movie in QT pro and you can join the movie and audio with a bit of trial and error.
Easier perhaps, is to use imovie to import the movie and audio separately and then export the movie from there. That's what i normally do.
    As i said, it's a workaround - but it's better than nothing!
    Hope that helps

  • 'Export audio to movie' not working properly

Hi, when I 'export audio to movie' in Linear PCM format the audio from the original video plays along side the music I have written in Logic X. The audio track from the video is muted apart from where I've used some of the original audio on a new track. How do I get it so that just my music plays along with the video?
    Thanks,

  • HELP! : No "Export Audio To Movie" option

    Hi
I've just finished a sync project and need to 'export' to movie. When I go to the file menu or right click on the movie track, the "Export Audio to Movie" function is not there.
PLEASE can anybody help. I have to deliver the pitch tonight. I'm running 9.1.3 64bit.
    Many thanks
    Jules

Mike is right. The reason why Logic9 doesn't have the Export Audio To Movie feature is the current state of Quicktime. Remember that the basic video capabilities of Logic are not written into the Logic code but outsourced to the Quicktime components in OSX (Don't invent the wheel twice). Based on a statement by Steve Jobs, the new Final Cut version should arrive in 2011 and you might think it will be 64bit, dragging QuickTime along with it, followed by a quick Logic update - maybe.
If this helps, here is my current workaround:
I work in 64bit with a separate project file for each music cue on a video based project. When I'm done, I bounce the audio.
Now I have also one master project, that also uses the current video and has the exact (important) sync settings. I use that project to import each previously bounced audio cue. If your sync settings are the same with all the individual projects and the master projects then you can import one or many audio files and with one command "Move to original recording position" all the audio files line up perfectly in sync.
_The advantages of that master project_:
    1) You run that project in 32bit mode and therefore are able to use "Export audio to movie"
    2) You can make rough mixes of your video (audio against dialog) for approvals or your own reference. Having these little videos with you at the dubbing stage can take prove very easy if the music editor messed up your cue.
    3) You can export videos of individual cues, sections or the whole video (at least reels, if the movie is broken down in separate reels)
    4) Easy handling/mixing of separate cues that overlap
    5) Quick comparison of different versions of a cue which of course are all imported into the master project6)- Quick timing references for Cue Sheet preperation
    7) In case of a picture edit, this the master project is also an amazing tool to figure out how messed up your music will be with the new picture cut. Im

  • Export Audio to movie causes loud static

    Hello,
If I import a movie (.mov) file into Logic pro 9, add some extra music tracks and then try to "export audio to movie" to my desktop, when I open the exported file in quicktime player I get horrible static. I am also running Logic in 32bit mode.
Just on accident I found that if I export the file to my SDCH card that i use for my Canon T3i camera and not to my Desktop the file opens fine, I hear the extra tracks I added and the actual audio of the original file.
Can anyone explain why I can't export the file to my desktop without the file opening with static?
Just for a bit more information, I can also export to a jump drive with no problem. Does the the way my hard drive is formatted  have anything to do with this feature?
    Computer specs:
    MacBook Pro
    2.4 Ghz Intel Core i7
    4 GB 1333 Hz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB graphics
    750 GB SATA Disk
    Jump Drive: MS-DOS (fat32)
    SDCH crad: MS-DOS (fats32)
Mac HD: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    Thanks
    Darian

What is really odd is the Jump Drive and Secure Digital card are both formatted Fat32 MS-DOS, while your Mac drive is formatted (correctly) as Mac OS Extended.
Go back to your original formatting... what happens if you move the noisy file from your desktop to the jump drive and play it from there, is there still static, if so that eliminates a playback problem and places it on the record function. Best to narrow things down.
De-Select Floating point and set the sample size to 16, leave everything else the same.

  • Export Audio to Movie - where is that function in Logic 9?

I have noticed that a very useful function in my Logic Pro 8 (version 8.0.2) options/movie/export audio to movie is not found in the Logic 9 version. One of my friends has this version (and an Intel Mac) but I cannot help him working with music and video - I cannot find it anywhere in the Logic 9 menus. Can you help?
    Best, Peter Danstrup

I just opened a quicktime movie. Added an audio track, and am looking for the option indicated in the manual: "Choose File > Export Audio to Movie". Upstream it's indicated that this option only appears if a movie is present. My movie is present, but still this option does not appear?
    Ideas?

  • Exporting Audio to Movie, doesn;t export the audio

When I try Option>Movie>Export Audio to movie It rendereds but doesn't actully put the music into the video. Worked in 7.1 doesn;t work in 7.2.1 any plans on fixing this?

Indeed, thats what I do, but the time saving and
simiplicity of the 'Export audio to movie..."
function puts it at the top of the 'features that
really should work' for us composers to picture!
Hopefully it will be fixed soon with an update.
It's not broken. To be sure I went and tried it myself
and it worked fine. I did not even have to set the
locators, which I thought I would have to. I just dropped
the movie on a project and went to the menu. It did bring
up some dialog box I had not seen before. Something about
adding the tracks to use. It only showed track 1 but since I
could not figure out how to add the tracks I just hit OK and
it rendered all of them. Hope you get yours back up.

  • "Export audio to movie" produces an all-white video or other problematic issue.  Help.

The latest Logic X update seems to have broken the "export audio to movie" function.  I need to re-import the movie file every time I want to export audio to movie or it results in an all-white video or a video that hangs up on a single frame.  Does anyone know a good work-around or fix?  I'm generally using video that is compressed in H264.  I also need to deliver at that same codec.  Not having to convert the original movie to a new format and then convert the version with music back to H264 again would be ideal.

Now Logic's gone racist, jeeze... what next?
Dang Clancy..... Now I have spilt coffee all over the floor!

  • Can't export audio to movie

    Hi
I am trying to add music to some video footage taken with a digital camera. I was unable to extract the audio from the footage onto my arrange window using import audio from movie. I received a message saying "no active extrac
table audio to be found" (though there is audio in the footage). Then when I exported audio to movie I found that the movie was unchanged, the soundtrack I had created did not play and the original audio remained as well.
    Any help would be appreciated.

H,thanks for the advice, I'll try it out tonight. Yeah I bought quick time pro especially to work with film in logic. I am soon to start working on a project with a film student friend of mine. I was literally tearing my hair out for two days figuring I had done something wrong and it turns out that this problem seems to be part of an apple conspiracy to hush up this flaw. That and the fact apple seem barely contactable when there is an issue with one of their problems only adds to the frustration. I expected more I have to say.

  • An old "export audio to movie" bug returns in 9.02?

    Hey
Maybe it's just me, but I could've sworn they'd fixed this one...
I remember for a while when you'd use the "export audio to movie" feature, the sound would sometimes be about half a second late. Then that was apparently fixed... But now it's back again in 9.02
My previous work around was to bounce the audio mix, then drag it back into the timeline as a stereo .aif file. I'd solo that track, make sure PDC is set to "ALL" then use 'Export Audio to Movie'.
And - before you ask - no, there were no latency inducing plugs on the master output bus. No limiters, gates, in fact no plugs at all on this particular project.
No matter what I did, the Quicktime bounce was always out of sync. When I just 'play' the project, the 2-pop from my audio and the video cue beep/flash frame line up perfectly. Everything plays back fine. But when I use "Export Audio to Movie", my Logic soundtrack is about half a second late throughout.
Anyone else notice this? Any suggested fixes?
I know some people are having a great time with L9, but I'm sorry to say I'm solidly in the "sorry I upgraded" camp.
I'm starting to appreciate L8 more every day...

    iSchwartz wrote:
You can work around this problem in QT without having to deal with Logic at all, provided your film has a timecode burn. Open the movie in QT. Trim it down if necessary. Assuming your 2-pop is what your cue starts off with (with no dead audio before it), open your 2-mix in QT, select ALL, CMD-C copy. Now your mix is in the clipboard. Back to the movie window, set the playhead of the movie so that you're seeing the desired start frame. Use CMDOPTV to place the music into the movie. Trim the movie as needed. Export.
If you want to save the movie, be sure to save it under a new name. Saving as a proxy (reference) will save disk space.
Good tip - thanks. Unfortunately, this film doesn't have a time code burn. And while I've used the method above in the past, I always find it a little finicky to make exact trims in QT because you don't have the fine frame-by-frame control sometimes... I think.
But the thing is, I exported audio to movies with perfect sync all summer long in L8. I did about 60 cues for one client this summer, all with quicktimes, and not a single problem.
Now, since "upgrading" to 9, I can't get the audio to export with the same sync it has on playback no matter what I do. Sure seems like a bug to me....
I'm going to try some more experiments today if I get time. I want to see if changing buffer sizes or PDC settings has any effect....
    Hm.
