Why has all cloud only music disappeared?

I have just renewed my subscription to iTunes Match and all the tracks which have been in the cloud only are somehow gone, while the rest of the music which is still on my hard drive goes to the whole scanning and matching procedure like the first time I subscribed.

Nope. iTunes Match it turned off.
So far I haven't been able to find my music in Time Machine either. And I know I bought that music years ago because I burned some of them into audio CDs and I have back-up DVDs with the music on it.

If they are iTunes purchases that you bought on your phone then have you copied them over from it to your computer's iTunes ? If that is the computer that you sync the phone to then you should be able to copy them over by connecting it and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. Or (depending upon what country that you are in) you might be able to redownload them directly on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.
In terms of your account's balance, have you tried logging out of your account on your computer (Store > Sign Out menu option) and then logging back in (it will change to a Store > Sign In option) and seeing if your balance changes ?

  • I would like to be able to download updates for my Iphone and Ipad on my work computer but my home computer has all of my music on Itunes.  How do i downlaod updates at work without deleting all of the music which is stored on my home computer/Itunes?

I would like to be able to download software updates on my Iphone and Ipad at work without erasing my music.  My home computer/Itunes has all of my music saved.  is there a way to use two computers w/o erasing information?  Or can i transfer the music from my Iphone to my work computer?

    - An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. Yu can however manage music and videos among different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
    - To change syncing computer, move all the media to compute r#2
    - Connect the iPod to #2 and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note tha the iPod backup the iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

  • My laptop recently crashed and is unsalvagable with my itunes library on it.  My ipod touch has all of my music still on it.  Is there a way that I can put the songs on my ipod onto itunes on my new computer??

Is there a way that I can put the songs on my ipod onto itunes on my new computer without loosing them or having to buy them all over again?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • Why has my cloud subscription been increased from $29 to $49?

Why has my cloud subscription been increased from $29 to $49?

    Isn't that in Adobe's plan?
Get you hooked at a low introductory price and then increase it.
You should be happy it only went to $49.00.
    But that is only temporary.

  • My laptop had some work done on it and now my iTunes library is gone. My Nano 4 has all of my music on it and I want to sync what I have back into my iTune library. Anyone know how?

If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
    1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
    2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
    3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • Why has my past iTunes music dissapered from my "Purchased" section

Why has my past iTunes music dissapered from my "Purchased" section

The iTunes Store indeed does not have any phone support. Try this direct link to the contact forum:
    http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
If you still receive a "case closed" message with no further explanation, or have tried that form with no useful result, try resubmitting and explaining the problem in a different way. They may just not be understanding your issue. Of course you will want to be polite; if you just rant, they may well just trashcan your issue.
If you continue to have problems, you can try calling the Apple Support line and asking for Customer Relations. They may be able to help you get a resolution.
    Regards.

  • I got a new laptop and downloaded iTunes, when I put new music on it for the first time, my entire music library disappeared, leaving me with only newly downloaded music in my library. My iPod still has all my old music.

Recently, I bought a new laptop (a Lenovo), so I downloaded iTunes to it. When I bought new music from iTunes for the first time on the new computer, I went to my music library and there was no music, except for the new songs I had just bought. I have no idea what happened, I've had hundreds of songs I've bought from iTunes or downloaded from bought CDs over the years, which are all still on my iPod (nano, from 2008), and suddenly they just didn't seem to exist. I have yet to access the iTunes account on my previous laptop to see if my music is still there, but I would assume yes. When I went to sync my iPod to my iTunes to at least get the new songs to the iPod (so that my complete library can be on at least one device), I realized that in order to sync my iPod to my iTunes, I would be deleting all my old music and replacing it with the new. So now, I only have a few new songs on my laptop's iTunes, and only my old songs on my iPod. In both cases I paid for all the music, so I don't want to just delete any of it. Is there any way to fix this?

Also-I tried to use my backup hard drive, but I wasn't able to drag/transfer/send/move any of my muic files onto my iTouch when the iTouch was connected to my computer.  I can't figure out why it won't let me do that.
The only thing I can see when I open my iTouch on my computer is my file with photos.  I can't see videos, music, or anything else.  What's going on?

  • Why is all of my music greyed out on my iPhone 4?

I haven't been able to sync my iphone with my iTunes music for several months now, which is getting increasingly frustrating, and as the holiday season approaches, I really need something to tune out all the holiday music >:-|.
To avoid all the obvious questions: I am running the newest version of iTunes (11.0) and iOS (6.0.1), I have over 4 1/2 gb free on my phone, I have unselected and selected different folders of music (being sure it can all fit in space available on my phone), attempted to auto-fill free space and not, restarted iTunes, my computer, my phone, shut down all the apps, connected and disconnected my phone to my computer, and connected and disconnected the wi-fi sync. Changed settings to sync only checked songs, and manually manage music and back, I have attempted a sync every step of the way.
The music shows that it is syncing, the blue bar of music content volume shows that it's filling up, then at the end of the sync it disappears again. My music folder on my phone has all of the songs I want to sync listed but greyed out and unplayable.
Reading through a bunch of other discussions I have found a few unsuccessful solutions and have attempted this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747, as reccomended, but my efforts were thwarted with a "iTunes can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X." message, so I didn't get very far.
I cant seem to make podcasts sync either, but books seem to sync fine.
I did to a restore when the problem first happened, but am afraid to do it again as my iCloud is also acting up (another battle for another topic...) and I'm afraid I will lose everything.
Am I missing something really obvious? Why isn't this working???

    Hello Donna,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you have some purchases that for one reason or another are grayed out and will not play on the iPhone.
You can delete the songs and then download them again for free from the iTunes store.
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

  • I plugged my iPod into my computer to charge and all of my music disappeared. How do I get it back?

I got this iPod from someone else and all of their music is still there. But the few albums that I bought myself are completely gone. I can't find it in my library or purchased folder, or anywhere. Why is it gone, but more importantly, how do I get it back?

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    ALso see:
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
since the iPod has to be associated with the account to redownload them

  • All of my music disappeared after downloading 2 songs from ITunes. Now my library is empty on my IPhone except for those 2.

All of my music on the library disapperead when I downloaded the free Justin Timberlake album from the 12 days app today. I normally use our family's Apple ID because thats where we have the credit card info to purchase stuff. There was an error today while using that Apple ID as our credit card was canceled so i could not use it because we owed like $3. So I used mine instead to download the free album. I signed out of my family's ID and used mine to download the JT music. I thought everything went great until i started 'playin' my music and I could not find anything! Except for those two songs that I barely like. I signed out of my Apple ID, nothing happened. I closed the music app, again, nothing. I performed a reset, nothing. I cannot seem to get my music back. This has never happened before. I am currently traveling abroad and my laptop is back home, so I cannot sync my IPhone. Anyway to soultion this? I am absolutely getting more frustated with my Apple product every hour.
Anything I can do to get my music back before resorting to my laptop which is thousands of miles away? Help me get my music back.
P.S. In memory usage, beside the Music app which is suppposed to say like 4GB, currently is says No Data.
    Thanks in advance.

HI Jazzy, caveat first. I'm not hugely experienced with iTunes and syncing music, BUT, I think the problem is your switch of Apple ID. The music you had before 'belongs' the the previous family AppleID. When you switched ID, then iTunes didn't associate the new ID with the old music list.
    Try this:
Log back in with the family ID. Either change the credit card number to your own, or add your credit card to the family one. You should be able to delete it later when you have finished. Then you should be able to download the Justin Timberlake album to the family account.
My suspicion is that by logging back in with the original ID, all the music should be back.

  • I recently downloaded the new version of itunes and was trying to sync my ipod to my new computer and all of my music disappeared.  Where is my music?

I recently downloaded the newest version of iTunes and was trying to sync my iPod to my new computer for the first time.  Somehow in this process I somehow lost all of my music!  It says that I only havce 10 songs unless I'm looking in my library somewhere else.  But even on my iPod all of my music is gone!  Help someone!!!  Can I find what music I used to have?

If the music that was removed from your iPod (which happened as a result of syncing it with a new computer... an iPod is designed to sync with only one library at a time.  Connecting it to a new/different iTunes library will erase what is currently on the iPod and replace it with what is in the new library) is no longer in a backup anywhere or another PC, then there is no way to tell what used to be on your iPod.
You'll need to either rerip the tracks you had from CDs back into iTunes or redownload them from iTunes via iCloud if possible.

  • Why has all my music disappeared from my iphone 4S (iOS6)?

This morning on the train into work I was listening to a track as usual on my iPhone 4S (iOS6).
The track finished, so I used my Beats headphones to skip to the next track (as usual) and there was just a prolonged silence.  On taking my phone out of my pocket I then saw that all my music content had disappeared!  When I go into the Music app it simply displays 'No Content'.
As I am not at home, I cannot re-sync.
I want to know how on earth Apple can be releasing an update that causes so much hassle?
Can anyone help & explain why the above has happened?
    Thanks.

For some reason, I did not see that you had replied to my reply (usually get an email notification), so sorry about the delay.
iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod (and that is by design).  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.  After confirming everything is there, you can then sync your iPod to that iTunes library.
