Why has Apple excluded iPod touch?
I've noticed that Apple has been only talking about the iPhone and the iPad ever since the iPad came out. For example, Apple didnt realise a new iPod touch model this year. All the did was make it white and that was it. Also i've noticed that almost all of the new features for ios 6 arent compatible for the iPod touch. I got really excited when I saw it come out saying that it was for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, but then i read down to the fine print and it said that a lot of the good features werent available for the iPod touch, which totally *****. Could someone explain this to me?

Apple didn't exclude the iPod.
Look at it this way. Let's say you had a car that did not have elecronic fuel injection, power windows, built in GPS, electric seats, A/C, power steering, and power brakes.
Would it be more cost effective to up grade your vehicle, or trade it in on a new one?
Its the same thing with electronics.

Apple has not released a new model of iPod touch since the A7 processor was introduced. When Apple will, or indeed if they will, is as lllass said not something any of use here would know. We'll just have to wait and see.

Why won't my ipod touch sync? It is all up to date and everything, and i know it is connected because when i plug it into my computer it charges, but it doesn't even show that it is connected so i can't sync all my new songs:(

Why does my 8GB Ipod Touch have Voice Memos? According to Apple's manual the Voice Memos will only work on the 32GB Ipod Touch. The old 8GB does not have a microphone.
The Apple Users Guide for the the iPod w/ iOS 4.2.1 says the the 2G, 3G and 4G iPod have voice memos but you need an external for the 2G and 3G models since they do not have an internal mic. No info on 8 GB model not having VM. You can get the Users Guide from the iBook store.

On Apple's list of stock apps, it claims that the iPod Touch 5G has a compass.
Here's the text:
The Compass app is all you need to get your bearings. Just hold your iPod touch flat in your hand to see the four cardinal directions and the degrees of each. Or swipe to the left for a level or an inclinometer.

The iPod can't have a compass, because it needs GPS which the iPod doesn't have.

Why won't my ipod touch gen 5 play audio on my Sony RDP-X30iP speaker dock. I have bought a lightning adapter and find that there is no audio from the speaker dock and the dock does not charge the ipod.
- Reset the dock
- Go to Sony's support site and check to see if they say it will work with a 5G iPod touch (w/adopter).
Also look for a firmware update.
Sometimes this works:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

What is the detail format of the music? Music can be compressed to different degrees. The less compression the more storage each song needs.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.
What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.

Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

Thank u for ur reply. I'm sorry I didn't explain myself fully this is all very new to me and my daughter it is very annoying when, u are trying to set up something and u haven't a clue what u doing.
When I set her up on the iPod I gave her my apple and iTunes account and email address so now when she wants to buy anything on her iPod she uses my password and email address. When her friends message her they come through on my iPad because we share the same email.
What I want to do is keep my own email and apple account for my iPad but set her up with a new email address and iTunes account for her.
Will the games and music that she has bought with her iTunes card be gone on her iPod if we set her up with new account. -
How can I track this guy! He has my daughters iPod touch, and now using my email address for face time. The iPod was lost in Dubai last month.
The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch. -
My wife gave me her older ipad. I have reset and removed all data. My Apple ID (Ipod touch) is not an email adress, but when I try to stu up the ipad it asks for my Apple ID, then tells me that for security reasons the Apple ID must be in email format?

My main PC with my Itunes Library just crashed. I still have all my music on Apple TV, Ipod Touch (Gen 2), and Iphone 4 (verizon). How can I get everything set up on a new PC and working ?

WHen I first installed iOS 6 the App Store crashes...and now having iOS 6 for 2 weeks now, all my apps are buggy and now are crashing! Safari and built in apps are becoming slow and crash. I hate how apple leaves iPod touch 4g and iPhone 4 in the dark and basically force us to upgrade to newer devices. Apple could of done better with the update and needs to resolve these issues.

Googling shows that you have the 1G iPod. For apps you need at least iOS 2. The iG can go as far os 3.1.3 that you get here:

Just be aware that there are presently not that many apps that work with a 1G with iOS 3.1.3
