Why has mac mail stopped displaying images in emails?

upgraded to ML when it came out, all fine, but 2 weeks ago, mail suddenly stopped displaying any images in my emails.
how do i get them back???

Re: my Mac also JUST stopped showing embedded images in my email several weeks back. I've done it all to fix it including reloading mail program but still no luck. this is really ticking me off because I can not even tell what the emails are about. what the heck, doesn't someone from Apple review these posts once in a while.

Why has Lightroom 4 stopped displaying my images?

I was scrolling through my image libary in thumbnail mode - quite fast as I was looking for certain groups of images to keyword them. I had been doing this for some time and then suddenly it just stopped displaying the images - the thumbnails were just empty. I thought they would render after a few seconds but they didn't. I then scrolled back up and none of the images were being displayed. Lightroom would then not close properly so I had to force quit. Computer wouldn't shut down properly either - I assume Lightroom was still doing something in the background. When I restarted the computer and opened Lightroom the same problem was the same - no images at all being displayed. Everything seems fine on the hard drive when I look outside of Lightroom so the images are there, and all the folders are still in place in the Lightroom catalogue - just not displaying images. Any ideas?

Re-installing LR very rarely changes anything...
Did you install some other software recently?
Is your preferences file ok? ...just thinking of one *of the usual suspects*... [on Win7 C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 4 Preferences.agprefs] ... you can rename the existing one and let LR recreate a new one.
Recreating as suggested above would not mean your total catalog, but all your previews - if we suspect the previews folder of corruption.
Speaking of usual suspects: try the last backups of your catalog, if they show the same behaviour? ...to rule out some corruption of your working catalog...
You optimize your catalog regularly, e.g. before creating the backup? If not, you could also try that.
If none of your catalogs works, then create a fresh test catalog and import a few images and render their previews, to see if it is actually your LR installation with the problem.
Did you try LR4.3RC already? This might make more sense than re-installing an older version.

Why is mac mail so myopic regarding contact emails?

i would very much like to organize all my contacts which i am doing very slowly with software called Cardscan that lets me scan and sort my business cards. i also have a personally oriented database in my Mac Contacts (Mountain Lion)/Mac Address Book (Lion).
i /think/ at this point that i have decided to keep all the business contacts in Cardscan and all the personal contacts in Mac Contacts by /exporting/(!) data from one database to the other.
however, does anyone know why Previous Recipients is so darn hinky or how to work around its very obvious limitations? i mean, right now i have a monster list in Previous Recipients on my Mac Pro that representes personal and business email addresses that i have either added to Mac Contacts or NOT added to Mac Contacts. and i also have a Previous Recipients list on my Mac Book Pro that represents the same kind of data.
this of course means that Mac Mail will autocomplete with different information depending on whether i am using my iPhone my Mac Pro or my MacBookPro which is a major drag since if it DOESN'T autocomplete i have to go searching through my IMAP mail to find the persons emails in order to copy and paste this address into an email.
is there some way to SENSIBLY have this information accessible on all my devices (iPhone, Mac Pro and MBP)??!! i mean, can i somehow create a database of this information and have it accessible?
i tried to tackle this at some point when someone wrote a SCRIPT that automatically dumped all the Previous Recipients into a folder "Previous Recipients on my Mac Pro" and "Previous Recipients on my MBP" which each existed in my Mac Contacts database but i have been working so hard to clean up other aspects of my contacts (i.e. business cards in cardscan and how this database relates to the Mac Contacts database) that i cannot remember if simply running this script again will give me some kind of moderate fix for this.
i mean, this means that ALL the addresses in each of the Previous Recipients databases now clutter up my All Contacts section of Contacts and i can't remember if this is a small price to pay to have email addresses accessible when i travel...
anyway, any good suggestions on this would be really welcome because every time i post on this problem i feel like also saying:
bueller, bueller, bueller...?

Though speaking as a complete “non-techie” the SCRIPT idea sounds good and I am assuming you got the list using the steps described:

Why has iCloud mail stopped showing messages in the "Sent" folder?

Recently I've noticed that any emails I send from iCloud email does not show in the "Sent" mail folder. This, in and of itself is not really a big deal, but I'm curious to know if everything i've sent is being stored somewhere and is accumulting taking up storage space. I try to delete almost everything out of iCloud since I only have the basic storage account. Anyone else experiencing this with iCloud Mail.

Sounds like a limit of your ISP, as it's trying to put it back on the mailserver, which may not accept such a large file.

Safari has stopped displaying images?

Have been using Safari with Windows XP Pro for a couple of months without any problems to access internet and my Mobile Me account. Then without warning Safari stopped displaying images i.e., photo's & banner headers. As an example Google search engine operates but the Google logo does not show. Also Mobile Me is not displaying any images.
Internet Explorer on the same PC continues to operate OK.
Any suggestions?

Mail not displaying images

Hi...
I have a strange new problem with Mail. It is not displaying images in email newsletters that I receive, but just from one sender. This has only been the case for a couple of days. I actually make the email newsletter and send it out from a web-based program but I obviously send it to myself to test how it looks etc. There was a problem recently with the server that meant that the email newsletter did not display images (just a box with a ? inside) for most recipients but it always appeared fine to me. Now it's the other way around. All other recipients seem to be able to view the newsletters fine (including other Mac and Mail users) but not me!! I do not have any other problems with Mail except for the occasional crash. Any ideas please??

I think so, it indicates to me that they have problems!
This is why the hosting company say it must be a problem with my mail program only.
Might be, but even different Macs on the same Network may have or get different DNS numbers, and the question mark means either an unknown Pic type,or the link to where it's stored isn't getting through.
Might try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers...

They'll be slower since they're in the US, but interest to see if the Pic shows, or can be opened/downloaded then... you can erase them afterwaeds, or put yors back.

Mail incorrectly displaying images from MyFax

I use the service MyFax to receive faxes via email as PDFs with a gif image of the first page. I have two different MyFax accounts (for different businesses) with one sending the emails to a Yahoo account and the other to a Gmail account. I view all of my mail using Mac Mail, and both accounts have the same problem.
The first MyFax email that I view when I open Mac Mail correctly displays the gif image in the email which provides a preview of the fax showing only the first page. Then if I view another MyFax email, the gif image from the first email I viewed is still shown and then the gif for the email I'm currently viewing is shown and then the PDF at the bottom. From then on, every time I view an email from MyFax it shows the gif from the first MyFax email viewed. This is very annoying since the gif image takes up a whole page, and it's difficult to determine who the fax is actually from.
I have done some tests and confirmed that if I view the MyFax emails directly from yahoo or gmail on the web, the images are displayed correctly. Therefore, the problem lies with Mac Mail. Anyone else run into this problem or have a suggestion for fixing? Thanks!

AFAIK, there is nothing you can do about it other than reporting it to Apple — I have no idea whether it has been fixed in Mail 3.x:

FIX:
1. You need Time Machine
2. Go to folder /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/
3. Copy AppleCamera.plugin to good place (usb memory stick is the best place).
4. Go to Time machine in date that skype work fine.
5. Change AppleCamera.plugin with file from Time Machine
6. Restart system, Now skype need to work with camera.

This is my basic, first start, recommended "fix" when these types of weird, unexplained things occur on the iPad. Give it a try. After you reboot, go back to the mail app and see if the messages will load.
Quit the mail app completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

OS X Mountain Lion - Apple mail not displaying images

Ever since upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion a few weeks ago, Apple Mail no longer displays images in emails. I have downloaded and installed the latest Java RTE [it was out of date] - that didn't fix it. I have tried to reset my Java preferences to their defaults - that didn't fix it.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If so, have you found a solution?

I have exactly the same problem although its not for every email. My email provider is gmail. If I forward an email to someone else, they have no problem viewing the images. Very annoying. Checked with my gmail account and these are not classed as spam.

Mac Mail is displaying strange characters

My Mac Mail is displaying these strange characters on a number of seemingly random emails from people. However, when I copy the message and paste it into a word document or the internet browser address bar it converts these "letter A in a box" characters into what the words actually were. But this is a hassle and I'd rather just be able to read the text directly in my mail application... Thanks for the help.. hopefully it is a simple fix.

Have you checked document and data syncing is enabled in settings > iCloud and iCloud is enabled in settings > Pages.
For future reference, you might also consider backing up documents created or edit on your mobile device by sharing a copy to iTunes.

     2. Is XP fully up to date and are you running the latest IOS for iphone 5
     3. Is wifi turned for iPhone 5 and for your PC
