Why has my clip changed and become magnified.

Hi Everyone!
I'm working with 3.5 FCE and transferred a clip (Copy and Paste) on to another Sequence or timeline.
When I go to play my new clip I see that my settings have changed. In other words what was a face on the original clip now is just a part of the head. Why is this happening? Everything has been magnified and grainy. What to do?

Well--let me see if I can explain myself better. If I take my HD footage from the browser to the viewer
it looks fine. The persons head is in full frame. At fit to window it sits @33 %. I then drag it into the timeline and at 25% i have this teeni frame that is now in the Canvas with only the part of the head showing and the parameters looking more like something for DV footage and not widescreen. The fit to window reads 83%.
Again--this is only happening with the one clip even though it has the same specs as the others.
Still miffed as to why this is happening and if this is what I'm stuck with.

Normally if you open a graphic in Acrobat, it automatically adjusts the PDF to the size of the graphic. It sounds as though you are doing something else to create a PDF. It would help to know how you created the PDF, you seem to be suggesting you did it with an online tool and not Acrobat. In that case you should go to the appropriate product forum.

Yes u can activate the changed PC...............but don't schedule it...........
If u schedule the Chain............when the current chain is running..............it will get stucked in the process..............which was executing ........at the time when it was scheduled.............
I thnk u hav made some chainges in the PC in Planning mode.............right...............Activate it............after the completion of the current run of the chain............schedule the chain........

The Firefox icon (fox /earth) which has been on my Mac's Dashboard forever has changed to a stylized "A" made up of a ruler pencil and brush. I know not why. I would like to revert to the original. Why has this happened and how can I go back. I'm using version 9.0.1 on a Mac with OSX 10.6.8.

I've seen this happen periodically, but it's pretty easy to fix. Just delete the icon from your dock. Then recreate it by dragging the Firefox icon into the doc from the applications folder.

Why has Apple remained silent (and not helpful) on MobileMe & iPhone mess?

I am puzzled frankly why Apple corporate has decided to remain virtually silent (and not at all helpful or apologetic to users) on its website and public statements regarding the mess people experienced in trying to install the new 2.0 update on first gen iPhones, or currently, in trying to get MobileMe to do even part of what was promised. From a company with such loyal customers, this is frankly baffling. I hope that criticism the company received this week in newspaper columns (see links below) by two generally pro-Apple tech critics -- David Pogue in the New York Times and Walt Mossberg in the Wall Street Journal -- really take Apple to task for its blunders.
The New York Time's Pogue really hit the nail on the head -- http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/24/technology/personaltech/24pogue-email.html?em& ex=1217131200&en=9e9469e0fadb7cc5&ei=5087%0A -- by implying that Apple has become just like all of the other tech companies when it comes to being totally indifferent over customers' complaints or requests for help.
The company even refused to try and clear the air by speaking to Pogue on the record!
I really wonder what genius at Apple has decided that silence and no form of apology is the best policy. I would think being compared to the competition is the last thing Apple would like. The corporate mind is truly unfathomable.

why has Apple taken the ical and address book sync option away from itunes iphone info tab on the new OS Mavericks ???? Absolutley insane !!!!

Independent of iCloud, here are a couple more options:
1) You could sync with Google
2) You could set up OS X Server ($19.99 download on the Mac App Store) and set up a CalDAV server and a CardDAV server on your local network, and use that to sync. A few articles have been written on that, Google for some of those terms and you should find a walkthrough.
What you CANNOT do is a tethered sync via iTunes. Given it was removed, I highly doubt it's coming back.

Why do disk permissions change and should I worry?

I noticed that my JavaAppletPlugin disk permission says that it should be something that it is not. I can temporarily fix it by doing a repair disk permissions but sometime later the JavaAppletPlugin disk permissions change back to the settings prior to the repair.
Why do these particular disk permissions change and should I worry about them?

Thank you for your answer and I appreciate it. However, I do have to admit that I am still bothered because, although it may be nothing to worry about, it still pops up as something my Mac thinks is in need of repair and I don't know why the permissions changed if they were supposed to be something specific before. Call me crazy but it seems like it should not pop up if everything were ok.

What is "InputManager" and why has"Receipts" folder changed?

1st Topic: Current MacWorld article (May , pg 16-17) tells about the Leap-A trojan horse. However, it refers to a user Library folder named "InputManager" ... no such on my system...I wonder why not? I never use iChat.
Is the Virus connected only to the 'Buddy List' ?
2nd Topic: I seem to remember a rule to never delete the "Receipts" folder in System/Library/... /Receipts/... All 'Install' Icons were there to aid Update and other S/W. My Tiger (10.4.4) has no such folder.. I wonder what happened to it?
Was it renamed?
Everything works fine... updates, installs, etc etc... Just wondering...

BUT, I have none in my Tiger Production Volume....
All that is in that folder are 3 folders from
previous Adobe installs... the install.log for
Acrobat Pro, Distiller & Reader...

I was confused with the fact that <Users/jbabcock/Library /...> is NOT the same as <Root/Library/Receipts/....> where Root is my Computer's name: followed by its /Library/... etc.
So ALL my Volumes of Tiger DO have the Receipts folder... but NOT /Home/Library /.... Etc...
I have only myself as the user.

Why has the transition changed for the Classic theme

Some years ago I asked how to have no transitions on a slideshow and I was told to use the Classic theme. This had Transition: None. I used this to convert many 4:3 photos to 16:9 HD for display on TV, one by one.
Now, when doing the same, the last second had the Dissolve feature even though it had Transition: None! Some how it has now changed to Transition: Dissolve and I can't find a way to change it back.
I'm using iPhoto 11 v 9.2.3, created 25/8/10 6.06am, modified 3/4/12 1.18am, on OS X 10.6.8.
My earliest backup (Time Machine) was 14/9/12 & has exactly the same iPhoto details. The modified date (3/4/12) was when I downloaded the 9.2.3 version. One photo previously modified is dated 27/11/12. Some how the transition changed since I used it even though iPhoto wasn't changed since a date 7 months earlier? I've reverted back to the 14/9/12 backup and it shows Transition: Dissolve even though that version was used for the photo and had None at the time!!!
I've tried modifying/deleting various iPhoto Plist files; iPhoto just modifies/re-creats them. I've even re-installed iPhoto from the original iLife disc onto the 14/9/12 system, but when I tried to use it it told me I have to get an upgrade. Upgraded to v 9.1 and upon opening it said it couldn't use the current photo storage space because it's a newer version (something like that) and asked if I wanted to Cancel or Create a new one and only gave Cancel as an option! Updating again creates v 9.2.3 (date: Today) and it has Transition: Dissolve.
I now believe there must be a file somewhere that contains this setting but, where and why wasn't it reset after restoring from backup?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I cannot check with your version any longer. But where have you checked the "Transition" setting?
Check in both places for the slideshow settings - the "All Slides" tab, and the "this Slide"tab for individual slides.

The properties of your slideshows will be stored in the iPhoto library. Have you run the First aid Tools to repair the permissions and the library?
Do the following:
To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys ⌥⌘ while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
Keep the keys held down firmly until the First Aid panel appears.
Then select "Repair database" from the First Aid pane.
The may take a while for a large library.
Repeat with "Repair Permissions".

Why has CS5.5 support and extensions been Dumped?

If anyone knows of a place to get new extensions for my CS5.5 design suite please let me know as I have spent days trying to find something that works. It makes me sick to my stomach to think I spent all this money for this softare package 2 years ago and now it appears i own junk that I cannot use or get anything new for. I hope Adobe has thought about all the faithful customers as my self they have throwed the screw to by forcing a paid upgrade to all their apps for their customers that are perfectly satisfied with what they have..Oh now I get it..thats the key..they want to make you unsatisfied with what we already have so we will purchase their new stuff. I hope I am wrong about this and Adobe didnt **** on all their previous customers and suites for this new , money imbezeling cloud software..Thats crap!!I dont want it.. I just want to be able to use what I have to its full potential and with the extension manager going straight to the cloud or cs6 I cannot use it anymore the way I want and Im pissed because non of those extensions are compatible with cs5.5 only cs6 and the cloud which I feel is dirty as hell of Adobe..I hope some one here can show me Im wrong about this. It's a lesson you learn at some point, although a sour one. I remember spending thousands of euros on studio licenses of Maxon Cinema4d 7, 8 and 8.5, and with version 9 the upkeep became so high I figured I would update one version later - only to find out my license was worth even less, and the upgrade costs would have cost me an arm and a leg. At that point I cut my losses, and switched to Lightwave and Blender.
Same with Adobe: I refuse to buy into the CC subscription, and I had to swallow a couple of times realizing all the money I invested in Adobe software over the years would become yet another lost investment (well, to be honest I did make good money over the years using Adobe software, fair is fair). Let's say I lost my time and skills investment. Anyway, I switched to other software almost two years ago now. I do still use Adobe software in my instructor career, but not for my personal and professional work.
Nowadays I try to stick to and support open source as much as I can, and I support the smaller indpendent developers. I have not regretted this decision so far, quite the opposite. Large behemoths of companies only care about shareholders generally, and less about their loyal customers.
Not bad or good, merely reality. If you do not like the current situation, change your situation, and take control. Or be happy with what you have - this society and its companies unfortunately continuously endeavour to keep people unhappy and cause endless consumerism - in the end it is not Adobe making us unhappy, it is ourselves who make us unhappy by always wanting the newest thing and comparing ourselves to others.

Why has my wireless internet suddenly become slow?

Over the past few weeks or so my wireless internet has become really slow, and i don't know why. I have a Linksys WRT54G. Im pretty sure its the router because i connect my laptop to my modem and the internet works better. Do i need an upgrade or something?

YES... try the upgrading the rtr first..or check your isp..they might be getting slow themselves..

Why has my Apple TV suddenly become extremely intermittent when it comes to wifi connection? HELP!

Have read through some other discussions and nothing seems to have helped yet!
So basically what has happened since yesterday Apple TV 3 keeps losing connection to my wifi BT Homehub. Get finally connecting for a few minutes I managed to do the update so now on software 5.2.1. But still the Internet will not stay connected, have reset back to original settings, still losing connection, have reset the wifi box and still no change in connection! Not Ble to use an Ethernet cable at the moment but can anyone please help!
Oh and now Apple TV light is on but won't connect through the tv!!

Why has my music disappeared and how can I get it back?

So its been a few weeks since I last used my iPod Touch (3rd gen, 64gb), and this evening I decided to resync it with iTunes as I had added a couple of new albums these last few weeks (Coldplay and an xmas album, not that it matters of course). After syncing, my iPod now only shows these two albums, but not the other 50gb+ that I have on there. They're still showing and playing in iTunes, and everything checks out when the iPod is connected.... it shows I have it filled with the right amount of audio/apps/etc. But no matter how many times I resync, the old music just isn't showing up on my iPod anymore. I've synced plenty of times before without having any problems.
Anyone have any advice? I'd prefer to fix it without wiping if possible, as 55gb of music and apps takes a **** of a long time to restore.

I am not sure if my problem is identical to yours but will post what I have discovered for the missing Greenday music from my daughter's ipod. It has been an aggravation to have to keep putting this music in and after a period of time, it disappears. This is what I have discovered as of yesterday. I hope it helps someone.
How to keep music/picture files in your ipod:
I have noticed that my daughter's music and pictures that have been put in her ipod from our PC files happen to disappear at random times. The photos have disappeared twice and the music 4 times. I think I have finally found a solution to this problem.
When you are in itunes, you will notice that music files have checkmarks beside each song. The downloaded music files (bought from itunes) are the ones that always stay in her ipod. It is the PC transferred music that disappears. This holds true for the photos too. The ones she takes with her ipod don't disappear but the ones we put in her ipod from our PC do.
When in itunes, you will see the checkmarks beside each individual song when under music category. That is the itunes menu and the songs that have checkmarks that are your PC files, do not automatically sync each time that you sync your ipod. The downloaded stuff from itunes automatically does, by default, so I will explain what needs to be done so that your ipod knows this too.
Connect your ipod into your PC. Go into itunes. Click on "ipod" (under "Devices" in left hand column) to whatever you named your ipod. We call my daughter's "marley". So click on "ipod name". On this page you will see your ipod name, capacity version, software version, serial #, etc. If you want your music, the categories are listed at the top of this page, so click on music. You will see, at the top, a checkmark beside "sync music" and boxes underneath with "selected playlist, etc." and other boxes with "include....etc.". Put checkmarks in boxes for which you want. At the bottom right hand corner, you will see a box called "Albums". In this box, anything that you have downloaded from itunes is checkmarked by default but any files that you have put in from your PC will be unchecked. Put checkmarks in these boxes, click "apply", and sync your ipod after doing this. You shouldn't lose these files again.
The same thing applies to photos. Go back to main ipod page mentioned above. Click on photos. There should be a checkmark in "sync photos from my pictures". Also the circle with selected photos should be filled in. Underneath that you will see "Folders". Put checkmarks in the folders that you want. This should help you to not lose photos. I have not had issues with video, etc. as we have not put these type of files into ipod yet. This has only applied to music and photos as of this post.
