Why has my iPad stopped using my phone number to send and rec iMessages?

A few problems since IOS 7 came out. I updated my phone to this miserable IOS7 and now my ipad will not send or receive texts on my ipad. I also do not have the option of putting the phone number in when it was there before. What happened?
I also can not text my sister after she switched back to android from iphone. My phone keeps defaulting to imessage. My ipad will not text her at all. (but that may be a thing about imessage not liking texting.) Which brings up what good is imessage if it will not send a text to someone? All my other devices, blackberry, samsung etc text between themselves regardless. Apple should allow imessage to realize it is not an apple phone and text to it.

Symptoms

Resolution
Try these basic troubleshooting steps first
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
Try a different Wi-Fi connection
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.
Specific issues
Alert: "Cannot get mail"
This issue is often caused by an incorrect password. Be sure you have entered the correct password. If you have enabled two-step verification through your e-mail service provider, please contact them to see if you need a special password for your iOS device.
Alert: "Unable to Move Message"
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar, then choose the affected email.
Tap Account.
Tap Advanced.
Tap Deleted Mailbox and ensure it is set to Trash.
After you have made your changes, tap Advanced > Account, then tap Done.
Note: If your issue is still unresolved, repeat steps 1 through 3 and then tap IMAP Path Prefix, then Inbox. When complete, tap Account, then Done.
Alert: "MFMessageErrorDomain error 1032"
To resolve this issue, remove your email account and then add it again. To do so, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar.
Choose the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

Can i stop using my phone number for imessage

i want to stop using my phone number with imessage, i cant because it is greyed out and its selected but i want to deselect it but i cant.
when i take my sim out it completely disables imessage

To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.

I want to select my phone number for send and recieve on iMessage but it is only letting me click my e-mail adresses. How do I go about solving this? It only happened when I switched over to the 5C from my 5 on iOS 7. Help!

You can only use your phone number with iMessage if you have got the iPhone. If you have got it, on the Mac, open Messages, go to Messages menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Accounts, and tick the phone number

About two days ago my ipad stooed connecting to the web. All the apps and browser pages oome back saying they cannot connect to the server. However I have an phone and a pc that are both connecting to the web fine through the same router. The ipad says it is connected to the router no prob. What next?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

How can I make it so my moms phone stops adding my phone number?

My mom and I share an account (not by choice) and randomly I get a warning saying that she is now using my phone number for calling and texting, sometimes it actually changes it so she is and sometimes it just says it and nothing happens. Is there anyway to stop it from giving the warning when nothing is happening? Is there a way to make it impossible for her to add my phone number? (I do have access to her phone if necessary)

You can change the address that new iMessage conversations are started with in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start new conversations from:. Note that this setting applies only to new conversations. If you would like to change the address from which messages are sent, first change this setting, and then delete the existing conversation and start a new one.
iMessage responses will be sent from the address the recipient most recently messaged. For example, a friend sends you a message to your Apple ID. Responses in this conversation will be sent from your Apple ID, even if you've selected new conversations to start from your phone number.
