can someone please explain why my post from yesterday has been removed without notice or explanation ?

I would be particularly interested i reading the 4 Replies since this issue is really strange and wreaked havoc on my system.

no i did not violate the TOU ... i just posted this issue to warn other people about it. It is a legit issue, no complaining or insults to Apple or anyone else.

It's been an ongoing policy that old posts are archived off the system, not least because the likelihood of the post being found and responded to decreases over time.
There is nothing to prevent any poster, including the person who originated the thread, from adding to it to bump it back to the top if it requires further attention, or to post again of course.

Why has QLOGIC 1280 been removed from Kernel 2.6.6 & 2.6

Hi folks,
I upgraded to the latest 2.6-scsi kernel and all of a sudden, no boot. After looking at the .config it appears that the qlogic-1280 support has been taken out. Now I understand that I can also recompile the kernel but is where could I have read about these changes before applying the package?

theoretically you should be able to find such info in the cvs "changelog" for this kernel. i usually use the web interface for the cvs as you can use the colour coded diff features.

Why has snow leopard been removed for download

I don't get Apple - they release a new OSx that can only be updated from Snow Leopard but in their amazing commercial wisdom remove the ability to buy Snow Leopard. That will increase the uptake of Mountain Lion - NOT! Anyway does anyone know how I can legally upgrade to Snow Leopard now? Thanks Apple always useful - your redundancy policy completely ***.

What I am suggesting is that users should always try to run the highest version of OS X that their particular Mac can run, not just for the 'extra features' but also for security reasons, i.e. available security updates, which Apple do not supply for outdated versions like Tiger or Leopard.
Are they also supposed to call Apple directly?
If they already have Snow Leopard they have no reason to call Apple!
And what about those users who have Snow Leopard and want to upgrade, but don't have sufficient hardware to run Mountain Lion? Did they wait too long?
That is a question of money. Not all of us can afford, or can see the necessity, of buying the latest MacBook, iMac or whatever. What our Mac did yesterday it will also do tomorrow! The 'built-in obsolescence' of a Mac used to be about 5 years, but is now only about two years or sometimes less. To replace a computer that often is, IMO, overkill, technically speaking, but it may appeal to rich fashion victims!

What account are you referring to? If you're asking about a Hotmail, Live or MSN account, which is the support article you came from, you'll need to contact the relevant service and take up the issue with them. If you're referring to an iTunes Store account, see this support article:

And, I downloaded and installed this update because there was a possible security issue; however, I have all automatic software update checks and downloads turned off, so i downloaded it manually as it was critical to install it as long as you are using the internet.

it was moved as you have a problem with your package getting activated whereas this board is for customers who already have their broadband activated and are having problems with their conenction

I believe you are right…and thanks for posting…hadn't noticed until you asked the question. Maybe it's there hiding in plain sight, but I couldn't find it. A search on MPEG in the new User Guide actually comes up with one reference to MPEG1 as a setting (p 111), but that may simply be a vestige of the previous editions.
What do you need MPEG1 for? Could MP4 work?

Has this feature been removed?

On the eMac system preferences sound panel, there is an option on the 'Audio in' tab to have anything inputted play out of the speakers, it was a checkbox which worked perfectly fine. It's a very important part of the audio setups of the eMacs in my college's music technology lab.
I have an iMac G5, but on the same panel there is no such checkbox, and therefore I'm not going to be able to set my audio up as I would like.
Does anybody know why this feature has been removed? Or if it hasn't and I'm just being stupid?
And if anyone could recommend a free download program that I could use to route my audio input straight out of the internal speakers which could run in the background then please help me.

I think I found it for you
I just downloaded another Rogue Amoeba program and installed it to try it on my system. It works fine.
I plugged my walk-man into my iMac G5's audio input, and it works just fine with this program.
You just run the program, and let it run in the back-ground. It has a button on it to enable pass through.
With that button clicked, it plays the music from my walk-man through the computer's speakers.
The program is called "LineIn"

Why's my podcast been removed from the iTMS?

I've set up a college podcast, called edPod, and we've so far recorded only a preview episode. Being the eager beaver I am, I submitted my feed to the iTunes Music Store.
Within a few hours, I had received an email from '[email protected]', saying the following:
"This is to inform you that your podcast has been removed from the iTunes Music Store because of a technical problem with your feed.
If your problem can be resolved, you can fix it in your RSS feed, and then re-publish your podcast to the Music Store."
That would be fine... if I knew what was wrong with my feed! I've looked at the apple podcast feed guidelines (http://phobos.apple.com/static/iTunesRSS.html) - and I can't see anything 'abusive' about my feed compared to their example.
Maybe you've been through the same experience, and could lend a hand? My podcast feed is http://www.kedst.ac.uk/edpod/edpod.xml
I'm totally at a loss as to what's wrong with my feed. Can anyone help?

Aha, that's helpful MacMuse!
However, I'm not too sure about why my feed is utf-8 while the server is ASCII. The college is in charge of the server, I just upload files to it! :P
I can see that the second line contains a "DTDs" rather than "dtds"... but since I use the application "Podcast Maker" to construct my rss feed - if I change the xml file on the server, will PodcastMaker overwrite it with the wrong information again the next time I update my feed? I suppose I will have to try it and find out! Also, Apple's own example has a capital DTDs... so surely that can't be the reason my podcast has been rejected?

I've installed Acrobat XI and could not find LC Designer in its folders.
Has it been removed from Acrobat distributions? Is it only availabe as a LiveCycle module now?

No, it is not included in Acrobat 11 and is available separately. If you had Acrobat 10 installed, installing Acrobat 11 removes it but you are elgibile for a free copy of the latest version, but you have to request it.
