Why has PhotoShop CC switched back to Trial version?

I have an active CC subscription that has been working fine for some time now.
A couple of days ago, CC 'updated' PhotoShop.
I have just launched PhotoShop but a screen appears saying that it is the PhotoShop Trial.
I know that my subscription is still active because Adobe have just taken a payment.
If I click the button that says 'License This Software' I'm prompted for a serial number which I've never received.
Any ideas what I should do (other than cancelling payments to Adobe)?

First try logging out of the CC Desktop app using its Preferences / Accounts area, then reboot, then log back in to the CC Desktop app.
If that doesn’t work, try uninstalling and re-installing the Creative Cloud app, first, and then if that doesn’t work, Photoshop CC, from:
https://creative.adobe.com/products
It’s not clear why a CC product would be asking for a serial number unless something is corrupted in the licensing objects on your computer and there is not an obvious way to reset those.  CC is licensed by logging into the CC Desktop app, but I think there is a serial number stored internally so they can track your specific license, so maybe that is no longer stored and so it’s asking for a new one.
Post your question over in the Adobe Creative Cloud forum.  There are Adobe Support people who seem to read and reply to messages over there when related to activation issues although I’m not sure how many of them are on during the weekend, and it seems like there are more of them late Sunday evening (US time) when its Monday morning in India:

    Sometimes there are server problems, downtimes, or security changes. Most problems with email are resolved by deleting the account from the iPad and then re-adding it.

    - How did you delete it?  If you used Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings without the iPod being charged you could have completely drained the battery.
    - After charging for at least half an hour try resetting the iPod:
    Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
    button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    We would like to inform you that the installer for both Standard and extended version are same, as trial you get Extended version.
    If you have serial number for Photoshop Standard CS6, only then it would turn out to be standard version.

  • Photoshop and illustrator switched to a trial version.

    I've got a license for adobe cs6 master collection. Today I opened Illustrator and photoshop and it said that I am using a trial version with only 30 days left.
    Is my license not valid anymore or is this a problem I can fix?

    Tried the resetting options, but can't even get to preferences - nothing 
    will open.  May have to find my Version 3 CD, or delete Photoshop 3 and get

  • Can't start Photoshop Subscription because of expired trial-version.

    I tested the CS6 Photoshop Extended Trial-version and after it expired I bought "Photoshop CS6 Subscription Edition (monthly)". I downloaded and installed it. Now when I start it all I see is the "Trial expired"-window.
    I tried de- and re-installing everything, tried cleaning the registry, tried the Adobe CS removal tool – nothing helped.
    The "Trial expired"-window has a button to enter a serial number, but the monthly subscription didn't come with one – I checked all "My Adobe" subpages I could find. There wasn't a serial number in E-Mails either.

    I could finally fix the problem with the help of Adobe support. For everyone with the same problem:
    1. Deinstall Photoshop.
    2. Delete the following files (replace "Programme" with the Program Files-Folder of your language):
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\"caps.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\"caps.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\"media_db.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\"pcd.db"
    C:\Programme (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\"cache.db"
    3. Redownload and reinstall Photoshop.
    4. Start Photoshop and login with your Adobe-ID.
    Done!

    What do you mean by “menu bar activate”?   
    BTW, there is nothing limited in the trial except it quits working after 30 days so as long as you’re still able to run it, then everything should be acting the same after the program has been licensed.

    Suddenly my Photoshop CS6 is opening as a trial version of CS6 extended. Why? How do I make it stop, and open as it should?

    I'm in the same boat, and now it's ended and I can't open CS6 at all. Plus I'm getting no support from Adobe on this over the weekend.
    I tried re-installing on top of it, but that didn't help. I would completely un-install and try re-installing again, but think they'll leave something still stopping CS6 from opening.
    Why they forced this on us, I don't know.

    I have been using Photoshop Elements 11 for almost a year.  Suddenly, it has turned into a trial version.  I entered the serial number and got a message that it wasn't the correct serial number.  I went online to Adobe and checked my account and the serial number is correct.  I went to www.adobe.comgo/getserial and entered the Redemption code for my product, and it kicked out the same serial number.

    Pam Barkas it is likely the licensing files on your computer have become compromised.  This can be due to file permissions being modified or the files themselves becoming corrupted.  Which operating system are you using exactly?  Do you have any other Adobe Creative software titles installed on your computer?

  • Random crashes after upgrade; how to switch back to previous version Firefox

    First of all Firefox upgraded itself without asking, even though I did not give any approval or command to go ahead. Since my HW is a bit older, I do not want to go for any SW upgrades of my infrastructure SW, except essential tools for my work. 99% of time upgraded SW will need/ use up more resources and slow down the performance while providing "NEW" features or enhancements which I may not even want unless I upgrade my HW. Now I am prone to more crashes when I have scores of tabs in 3 or 4 windows, which is normal for my concurrent processing mind; as often my searches result in things that I cannot finish reading/followup in a day. Although I do bookmark a lot too, but one has to remember to do it; whereas a Tab is open there to REMIND me to read or followup.
    Secondly, Then there is no easily visible way or button to switch back to the "previous" version of Firefox; i.e. to undo the Upgrade. Very disappointing and frustrating !! What happened to customer-oriented thinking ?
    Adobe behaves better, I have been saying NO to its upgrade question a zillion times, without unchecking "Remind Later" box. And it did not upgrade automatically in last 2 yrs. Only when I pressed ENTER with its button in focus, did it go ahead and upgrade itself (even that was unwittingly done, but at least it WAS my action).

    Go to Tools>Advanced>Firefox updates - and check as you wish for the future.
    Going back to an earlier version is never a good idea for security reasons.

  • I am now using a different MacBook Pro, and want to install my CC, I have done that and downloaded the Photoshop App but its a trial version. How do I get the full version of the apps?

    I had a new MacBook Pro that was damaged and I am now using a different MacBook pro as my primary computer (running yosemite 10.10.1).
    I did uninstall the Creative Cloud off the old MacBook before I stopped using it.
    I have downloaded the Creative Cloud and signed in using my adobe username and password, but when I went to download the Photoshop App it is only giving me the TRIAL VERSION.
    How do I make sure that the apps are the full version that I have already paid for? (I do know that my subscription is still current)

  • Why is InDesign CS6 coming up as trial version when I try to launch it? CC says it's updated.

    I haven't used InDesign for a while and suddenly when I try to launch it, I'm made to log into my Adobe account and use a trial version. What's up? My Creative Cloud screen says it's updated and I'm paid up on my dues.

    I haven't used CC, so this is just a shot in the dark, but iTunes has a menu item where you authorize the program/account. Is there something similar in CC? It may just be a matter of your computer and the Adobe server exchanging a snip of code that got dislodged. If you haven't used it in a while, it could be that it times out or a software update to your system threw out something similar to a cookie. I'd check there first, and then try with Adobe's tech support or customer support.
