What in the name of Goodness have you done with the full screen picture of Contacts? How dare you just change it without so much as a bye or leave? This is NOT progress but a throwback to about 1997! I supposedly 'updated' to an iPhone two weeks ago. Should have stayed with Samsung I reckon. I am deeply unimpressed!

Full screen photo as caller ID

Hi, is there a way to have full screen photo as caller ID even if I have my contacts synced with gmail. Otherwise is there a way to unsync contacts without have them deleted from iPhone?

But, I checked all the options under accessibility, and I can't find a way to do this.
Like Genuis2000, I have tried setting the photo by:
1 - Using an existing Photo
2 - Taking a new photo with the iPhone and using that.
Either way, it only shows a little thumbnail photo when the person calls.

Why did apple leave out the estended screen

why does mountain lion not utilize all my 27" screen when using the web? the old lion had an extended screen setting which operated well

If you are referring to full screen, it's still there in Mountain Lion. Go to the View menu and choose Enter Full Screen.

Why have you taken away my choice to customise my browser how i want it? i choose MF so i have some control, you have now proved your just like MS how can i gem

I can no longer see the status bar, you (MF) replaced it with the annoying little fuckery box.
This is not the first time you (MF) have changed GUI without user forwarn or other incline.
I suffer Geumaphobia and Arithmophobia (shapes not hygine...ie.rounded teeth and edges bath shapes and un-broken eggs seen on plain perspective), how can i now use your product that was forced onto me (due to lack of public/then personal confidence in other browsers) via browser choice selection on Windows (MS) ? It makes me heave.
If mozilla (MF) is as states "The community is supported institutionally" is that by Apple? (http://www.apple.com/), why does man and beast all of a sudden want to turn the world round? lol
should I persue this via the european Commission and see what thy have to say?

Why did Apple take away the ability to shuffle videos?

A firmware update about a year ago took this feature from my 5th gen video iPod; I was hoping other iPods didn't suffer from the same affliction, but lo and behold, my 3rd gen Nano does the same thing. If you set Shuffle to "Songs" or "Albums", the iPod will only play one video in a playlist, then stop. If you turn Shuffle off, and put Repeat to "All" you can play all the videos in a playlist, but only in order.
Can anyone think of a way around this, short of manually doing the shuffle yourself in iTunes? Or alternatively, anyone know how to contact Apple techs and get this feature put back?

IPhone Cuts off Full Screen Photos in Contact View

The iPhone can use a full screen photo of a contact (when a call is initiated), if the original is cropped in iPhoto as '2 x 3 (iPhone) / Portrait'. (To set up full screen view on the iPhone, the user must select a contact, tap the 'Edit' button, tap the contact photo, tap 'Edit Photo', tap 'Choose', then tap 'Done'.) However, the same photo is then cropped to a square shape when initially viewed in the Contact screen, often cutting off the person's forehead. A suggestion for improvement would be to have the iPhone use the square cropping settings of the original photo when it was added to Address Book (for initial Contact view), and then use the 2 x 3 settings when the call is initiated to have the photo fill the screen. Anyone have any workarounds?

I have updated my software recently and the full screen default for the web browser is very annoying and causing my phone to slow down badly.
Has anyone been able to turn the Full Screen web mode default off??
Or how do you delete a software update.

Full screen picture for contacts

I have recently upgrade to the iphone 5. I use MS Exchange to sync contacts and email. I want to have full screen picture for caller ID but it only gives me a thumbnail. Any suggestions to get full screen picture for caller ID?

It used to be that if you assigned the picture while on the phone, it was full screen. I remember reading around iOS 5 I believe that it only allowed for full screen, but I still have a couple that are only thumbnails that have been synced over from contacts in LinkedIn. Try assigning the picture from the phone itself and see if that changes it.

Full sreen photos for incoming calls

When I upgraded I was able to get full screen photos for incoming calls and then it changed to a small round picture in the upper right corner, why did it change? How can I get the fulll sreen photos for incoming calls again?

Why does my caller I.D. photos show as a small thumbnail in the upper right corner and not full screen? I have used both photos I have synced and photos I have taken, yet others have full screen photo I.D.'s. I have looked onlime at several threads and there are no real answers as to what I need to do or am doing wrong.

I am also having this issue.
I've just spoken to someone in the Apple Support Centre who advised me that since the product is in beta, he is unable to assist. I wanted to find out whether someone was able to delete the data for me, or 'reset' the photos app somehow. This apparently cannot be done. He suggested I provide feedback via the feedback page, which I will do, but to be honest doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence in the issue being fixed.
I also deactivated the service and waited the 30 days for the pictures to be deleted - this should have been completed in mid-January. Instead, my iCloud.com Photos page is now showing the photos that should have been deleted as grey squares, just as you described. I am also unable to delete these photos; every time I try, I get the same message about a server error.
I am also unable to disable the service by enabling and then disabling it on my iPhone. Each time I have tried this it hangs on uploading for several hours, with the progress bar not moving at all. When I disable it on my iPhone, the web app remains unchanged.
If anyone has had this issue and has managed to fix it, PLEASE share your wisdom. I am out of patience!
