Any idea why I would "lose" the contents of my NOTES app when I connected my phone to my PC for backup and update?

Have you tried to synce this with iCloud or resotre to factory settings? Try to sync it to your Itunes again and lets hope for a good result.

I noticed that the contacts were there a couple of days a go and now the whole contacts directory is gone. This is my first iphone having had a Blackberry Storm prior to this. Why have I lost all the books in my IBooks library since it was updated to iBooks 1.5. My library is now blank & I'm not a happy chappie!
Can anybody help me please! I'm disabled & it's not easy for me to sync my iPad with my PC so I'm hoping that I won't need to do that.

You can redownload any purchased books without syncing with your PC. To do this, open iBooks on your iPad, click on the Store button at the upper left of the screen. Once the store loads, you'll see a tab labeled Purchased on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Click there and you'll be able to download any books that you purchased from the iBookstore.

I was trying to move my music to an external hard drive but now I have lost all music that was not purchased with itunes. I never hit delete so its still somewhere on my imac. How do I find it?

Do a Spotlight search or do a logical search along folders that make sense such as looking in the music folder first. Moving a library correctly should not result in any loss, and I can't think of any way to move a library and lost just a select grouping of files. How were you trying to effect this?

Why have I lost all my information on my iphone because i accidentally delete my apple ID

i need to recover all my previously bought apps and ring tones etc. I deleted my apple ID account on the phone by accident but has now re install it back. so where is all my notepad info and my phone contacts gone.

I have done the restore to a date in february, however my info that I recently added in july is not on the phone...grrrrrrrr!! I refuse to believe that all the info could just disappear like that when icloud is meant o always back up on wifi.

I Have recently allowed iTunes to update itself, and have only just gone into it, only to find that all the books and audiobooks that I hade in my library have disappeared !!!!! Including books and audiobooks I had purchased, both from iTunes and other sources.

Audiobooks are not avaiable for redownload from iTunes, though I suspect you may find they are still on your computer even if not currently listed in your library. This may help...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Without a backup, you will not be able to recover deleted contacts. You need to set up a separate iCloud account for your daughter, so you can keep your mail, contacts, calendars etc separate.

Enabling iTunes Match does not delete music from your computer. Why do you think it is now not in the iTunes library if it was before? If all of your music was in the iTunes library then it is also now in the cloud if iTunes has completed it's scan and all the music meets the match requirements. Enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser by switching to Song view and pulling down View > View Options. Select iCloud Status then close the small window. Sort on the new column. Your music should be listed as "purchased," "matched" and "uploaded." Some tracks may be "ineligible." Post back and let us know.

I havent' took any backup of my notes in icloud. The moment I enter the password after restore my notes will be empty. The only option to get notes back is that after restore skip entering icloud password. But any time I enter icloud password anywhere again my notes will be empty. I have huge data saved in my notes. Apple need to look into this issues very seriously. This is the 5th time I restoring my iphone today just to get my note back.

If I go tot this window on finder and enter Time Machine I can go back and find old notes...
If so, am I doing this on my new hard drive on on the time machine? When I do this on the time machine, what is "my home"? Also, I am unable to find "containers".
If I go to users/jeff/library, then I see components, compositions, contextual, etc, but not containers.
