At times the audio is OK, listening to iTunes, for example. However, other times when watching a video there is no sound I have checked the system preferences for sound.

1. Plug in the headphone and remove it.
2. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
4. Startup in Safe Mode

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

What app are you using to view PDF files? Preview can be a poor choice for some PDF files - I recommend using Adobe Reader - http://get.adobe.com/reader/ - perhaps it will solve your printing problem.

I noticed that the contacts were there a couple of days a go and now the whole contacts directory is gone. This is my first iphone having had a Blackberry Storm prior to this. I just signed up for icloud and I'm wondering if it might have been something that I might have done. I'm not familiar with many of the options on the iphone.

Have you tried to synce this with iCloud or resotre to factory settings? Try to sync it to your Itunes again and lets hope for a good result.

You can redownload any purchased books without syncing with your PC. To do this, open iBooks on your iPad, click on the Store button at the upper left of the screen. Once the store loads, you'll see a tab labeled Purchased on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Click there and you'll be able to download any books that you purchased from the iBookstore.

I'd try resetting the pse 11 preferences.
In the pse 11 editor Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor (Edit)>Preferences>General, click on Reset Preferences on Next launch
and then restart the pse 11 editor.

I can't tell you how it happened, but if you want to get them back on your other devices, download the app My Contacts Backup on your 4S and use the app to back up your contacts as a vCard attachment to an email. Send the email to yourself. You can open the email on your iPad and tap the attachment to import the contacts to your iPad. If you want them in iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn Contacts to On before importing the contacts. If your computer is signed into your iCloud account this will also make them appear on your computer. If not, import the vCard attachment to whatever contact management program you are using on your computer.

Hello people.
First thing is, I had logic on my previous mac (before i accidentally spilt water on it), and luckily the hard drive was unhurt and retrieved all data onto a new one, the thing is, since i have done this, the presets have been lost from plugins, such as Space Designer reverb, AVerb, EnVerb, SilverVerb. Such as, when I open an existing project where i've used a preset that is no longer there, it asks me to locate it:
And also, I have several (IF NOT ALL) instruments that have been lost, no piano's or anything, and all projects where i've included them have all become the same instrument (like the EVP88 Electric Piano or something).
Can anyone help me with this problem, what could I do to retrieve everything etc?
Yes I have download the additional content that was available to me, and yes I have deleted it and re-installed from the App Store, no change.

How did you move the data from your old drive to your new one?
If you used the Migration Assistant or Time Machine. that is likely why.. as many people have reported such issues after doing so.
The only reliable method is to re format your new drive and start again from scratch but this time don't use MI or TM directly to restore from but instead download and install everything from new and then manually copy across your personal data and projects etc.... from your TM backups.
You should be fine then... and yes, i know thats a pain to do but in the long term, it will save you a lot of headaches....

Why have i lost some of my projects in aperture?

When i have uploaded from my iphone, digital camera or SLR they have always uploaded into aperture. Within the last 1-2 weeks i have been told by my laptop that memory is critically low. I decided to by a WD 2TB hardrive and transfer my whole aperture content across as it had plenty space for future projects. I did this and then checked to see if the projects were all there and they were. I tranferred every association from my laptop to the hardrive and then deleted Aperture from my laptop to free up space. I deleted movies and old insignificant images aswell as old documentation and files. I then sought to use time machine to backup onto the same hardrive. But when i plugged my hardrive back into the laptop huge amounts of film and photography were no there. Photos of my new born son and my engagement were all gone. Is there anyway to retrieve this imagery?

Unfortunately, I just have some questions. The answers might help others or you figure out the problem.
1. Are your master images referenced or managed? If some are referenced, you may have just lost the connection (but it should tell you that).
2. Is your use of Time Machine only what you mentioned here or could the .aplibrary be on TM or other backup?
3. You said huge amounts were gone, but presumably not all. What would be the difference?
4. What version of Aperture are you using?
5. Did you ever make a vault?
6. How did you transfer the data vs. just moving the library and any referenced files?
If you are comfortable with doing so, you can look at the contents of your library. For Aperture 3, the data is very logically organized. Right click on the library and select Show Package Contents. You can drill down through just like Finder. Versions and Masters (assuming managed images) are organized by the date the image was taken.

To get the Menu bar I followed the excellent advice - I had to press the Alt key and V to get the chance to pick toolbars from the drop down menu. I just right-clicked on the blank page and hit Alt-V.
