Why have iTunes files turned up in my document folder?

All my iTunes files (music and video) and the loops from Garageband turned up in my document folder. Why? I stupidly deleted them now nothing in iTunes or Garageband loop works - I am not happy.

Without iTunes on a computer there is nothing that you can do. If you are locked out because you forgot the passcode your only solution is to restore the iPad using iTunes on a computer.
I don't know exactly want you mean by it is not responding - does that mean that it will not power up again?

  • Why is there a Question Mark on my Documents folder

Why is there a Question Mark on my Documents folder? It will not let me access the folder.
    Thank You

The question mark means the link to your Documents folder icon on your Dock (which is only an alias) has been broken.
Open Finder an observe your Documents folder.
Drag the one with the question mark off the Dock. It will vanish!
Drag the one from your Finder back to the Dock to replace it. This re-establishes the link

  • Why have iTunes on another computer?

I have iTunes on my desktop computer (Windows 7 Professional 32-bit).  I can connect my iPod 30G to it and drag/drop tunes/videos between the iPod and the computer.
I recently bought a laptop and installed iTunes on it also.  I am now trying every which way I know how to get those songs/videos off the iPod and onto this computer.  I've done searches in this (and other) forum panels and as near as I can tell, iTunes will let an iPod sync with just ONE computer.
My question s this: why bother putting iTunes on another computer if you cannot copy your music from the iPod to the computer?  If this is not true, then could someone please enlighten me as to the procedure to copy/paste FROM the iPod to the computer?
    Bill

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • I have itunes match, turned on itunes match on iphone 4, but cloud has gone

    Help!
I have just joined itunes match. Its all switched on on the iphone 4 and iphone is on ios6. I took the music off my phone as to save space, all my music still shows on my phone but i have to be linked to 3g or wifi to play it!
there is NO cloud icon to pull it down from the sky or delete what i dont want on there....
    is this a fault?
I have tried switchin itunes match on and off and the phone. have i missed anything else?
Its annoying as in my car if 3g cuts out my music cant play!

I don't think Apple "missed it." It's pretty hard to think of ANY good reasons why Apple crippled iTunes Match in iOS 6, in so MANY ways, other than...
The music publishers and/or the cell carriers want it this way. Think about it. If you have to stream/download EVERY song as you play and/or load it to your device, the publishers get accurate play counts from Apple, and better info for their royalty rake-off. And, by not allowing sideloaded music to stay on the device when you turn on iTunes Match, they are forcing you to re-load your preferred "stable" music to your device every time you want to delete songs (the only "easy" way is by wiping your entire library). The carriers have found a stealthy way to increase your data charges. AND... Try setting all your Cellular Data Usage and Music download over Cellular settings to OFF. Then go to a playlist and start to download it over WiFi. Then walk away from the WiFi into 4G/3G territory. THE DOWNLOAD CONTINUES. This is NOT the Verizon firmware issue. I've got the latest iPhone 5 Verizon 13.1 carrier version. It's either ANOTHER bug (still not acknowledged), or it's part of a concerted effort to get everyone to use more data over cellular, now that we can no longer get unlimited plans. This one has just cost me 1GB of "wasted" data usage over Verizon. Thanks, Apple!
I'm an old codger at 59, but even I know this is an EPIC FAIL.

  • Why have individual files in the cache have been placed in their own folders

I was servicing a client's laptop this morning and on checking the cache found that all the individual files that are normally there have been put into single directories. This mean there are directories marked as A,B,C etc, and each of those directories contain sub-directories numbered up to 100, followed by alpha characters, AD,AC and on. Each of these numerous folders contain just one file.
I have never before encountered this and am wondering how I can get the cache back to its normal state. System is XP Home SP3, fully updated; Firefox version 5 [self installed update to version 6 before I powered down].
I appreciate any clues or remedies.
    Clinton

Firefox 4 and later versions use a more sophisticated file structure and creates many subdirectories in the main cache folder to make it possible to store more files in the cache.
You can do a search for all files *.* in Windows Explorer (or another file manager) to see all the files in the cache in one list.

  • Why does iTunes keep turning itself on and how do I stop this annoying problem?

I am using an iMac running 10.6.8 and iTunes just randomly starts.  Is there an easy fix to this?  So far my solution has been to remove iTunes from my computer and reloading it.  Same thing happens.

Check Dashboard to see if you have any iTunes-related widgets running. If so, close them and see if that makes a difference. Similarly, look for any third-party apps that may be related to iTunes, such as apps that copy "now playing" information to a web site.
Another possibility is external speakers, if you have them. Another user here found that a loose speaker connection may cause random launching and playing on iTunes. Try wiggling the speaker plug and see if that causes iTunes to launch.  If so, unplugging and reconnecting the speakers may cure the problem. If not, you may have a defective speaker jack or an off-size plug on the speakers.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why have my files vanished from ACC?

I just sent off the links of some photos to share with a client and when I navigated back to the page the files are gone. Whats going on? My first time using this for
professional purposes and its not making me look very good so far. Also Why can't I share a folder?

Update: I received an error message saying files were unavailable. So apparently it is a larger problem.

  • I can't locate the music genre of the artist I'm looking for, why have iTunes changed the search criteria making it much more difficult to find an artist?

Is anyone else finding it difficult to locate an artist from the itunes store using the genre search? I've tried to locate 2 artists over the last couple of days and can't find them in any of the obvious genres. I contacted Itunes support and received a very unhelpful reply from someone who didn't even understand the problem I was having. Help!

Yes, I just discovered the POWER SEARCH feature missing and had a mini-meltdown until I found the power search, using the STORE button on the main menu, I click "search" and the power search page pops back, so wharever idiot at Itunes thought it a good idea to delete Power search from the Itunes webpage needs a smack in the head, and put the power search feature back, duh.

  • Why is itunes 64bit trying to install in 32bit folder on windows named (x86)?

Got the R6034 error and itunes never loaded again. So I re-installed the windows 64 bit version and was surprised it was going in as a 32bit program not the 64bit it said it was. I also found a trouble shooting for the error stating in windows the folder "Program Files" is 32bit and "Program Files (x86)" is 64bit.........What! Sorry but it's the other way around, get it right for once Apple and stop making iWrong ****.

I would try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Next try posting in the iTunes forum.

  • Why does iTunes rename files that are imported automatically although I set it not to?

    Hello,
I am facing the following issue:
I set up an old MacBook as a HomeServer. Now I would like to use it as a media server as well using iTunes.
My problem now is, that everytime I put some music files in the folder which automatically adds them to iTunes they are moved to the Music folder and are renamed although I deactivated this option in iTunes.
I arranged myself with the fact that the music is moved but the renaming is frustrating since I would like to use a sync tool to manage my music.
Does anyone have an idea how I could solve this?
    Thanks in advance.

I can tell you exactly why I don't want iTunes to manage my music completely.
I have all my music/fotos stored on a SD card so I have access to it anywhere I need it. I have a sync tool backing up my files to a NAS at my house.
My first intend was to access the music stored on my NAS but then I would have to manage iTunes twice (on my MacBook for traveling and on my HomeServer).
So I was looking for a comfortable way to have iTunes running on my HomeServer with a folder where I can put my new music. OK now you could say "why not just copy your new stuff there and let it do its job?". I want to have it automated or at least semi automated.
I store everything on my SD card and when I'm at home I want 2 sync jobs running. One to back up all of it and the other one to check which files are new and then put them into the folder which automatically adds them to itunes.
I could still live with iTunes managing everything the way it does but then I need to know how I can find out what is new in my music library on my SD card without manually checking it or creating duplicates in iTunes.
Wow... that was more text then I intended to write... whoops... hope I will be able to find a solution somehow.
    Cheers

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Also maybe this. I Am still not clear about your problem
