Why have my contacts disappeared and been replaced with some Facebook friend names?

A few days ago, all of my contacts disappeared and were replaced by the names of SOME of my Facebook friends. None of these have any telephone contact information, it's all email addresses associated with those Facebook friends. For instance, my husband's name, emails and phone numbers were all deleted from my contacts - help!

Look under iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is there a backup listed for her phone? First thing done when you sync is an iPhone backup. If you have not synced since screwing her phone up, restoring from that backup(if it exists) should restore her content. Do not sync after you restore her phone, eject it. So, first disable auto-sync on that same device pane in iTunes before you proceed. If this doesn't work, is your sister bigger than you? If so, run 'cause her data is gone .

I had several tab groups, but the last time I opened Firefox they'd all disappeared, and been replaced with an advert - can I recover my tab groups somehow?

I've set Firefox so it re-opens my old tabs every time I run the program, and also installed Tab Groups. Usually it opens all the tabs in all the groups with no problem, but this time they'd all disappeared and been replaced with a single advert. Is there a way to recover the old tab groups?

It's likely that by the time there is an answer the data to allow recovery will be long gone, but this really make me angry. I have been operating with the same tabs for months now, and by using tab groups... poof, now all gone. I use tabs precisely because digging around to find all these pages is a time consuming task. some I don't use for a week or two, but when I needed them, there they were. '''BIG BLACK MARK''' awarded to Firefox on this one! My trust level of this software, which had been very high just went to below IE, which is really saying something.

All of the photos in my text messages have disappeared and been replaced with a question mark image. Where did they go?

I updated my ios two or three weeks ago, but suddenly beginning this morning all of the photos in my text messages have disappeared. They have been replaced with question mark placeholders. I can't access any videos/photos that either I have sent or others have sent to me. I did nothing to instigate this change (no software updates, etc.) and have already tried resetting my phone multiple times.

I have the same condition on my iPhone only. I also have an iPad, a Macbook Air and an iMac that share the same iCloud account. Messages with photos seem to work fine on all devices except my iPhone. All of a sudden all the photos in my iPhone message streams have disappeared and been replace by question mark placeholders. I rebooted all devices, shut down messages, and rebooted, restarted, with no luck. Very bizarre and extremely frustrating. Any suggestions?

You can manage your email accounts in
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars
However, you should still get all of your emails, contacts and calendars on your @icloud.com email account just as you do on your @me.com account.
But if not, you can add and remove accounts listed above.

Why have my contacts disappeared?

I've got an iPhone 4s running OS 7.0.6. Today my contacts disappeared. I have always had my iCloud backup enabled and I've used it to restore on previous occasions, but when I went to the settings it was disabled. Is there any reasone why this would happen? Is there anything I can do to restore the contacts? I'm trying to upgrade my iTunes to see if I can restore from there, but in the meantime I'd appreciate any advice on what I can do.

When I went to iCloud to restore the deleted contact it had been turned off (I'm sure it was on). I deleted the iCloud account and added it again. When I synced the contacts were still lost. I turned on and off the contact back up 4 times and on the last time the contacts reappeared. The favourites list is still not correct but at least the contacts are back.
I'm a little freaked out by this as I thought I could count on iCloud and Apple to keep my info safe. Still at least I recovered most of the data.

I'm guessing if your contacts are gone from the cloud, they're gone unless you can get them back with a "restore backup". If they are still on the cloud, plug your IP/iPad into iTunes, open Contacts and select "On my Mac" on the left side of the window. Then sync and your contacts should appear on your IP/iPad.
At least they did for me using this routine.

Why does it just disappear and get replaced by msn or bing without my asking

Sometimes when I turn the computer on I click on my firefox icon, but an msn page comes up, or bing. When I try to get back to firefox there is no record of my having an account.

Agree, and no fun. I installed my disk above a cabinet, hidden, silent, etc as a utility in the house. Turned out to be a liability.
Problem seems to be the following: When there are glitches in the network communication, this is sometimes interpreted negatively by the disk software in the attached computers. Your local machine is not in sync with the software inside the network attached computer.
The 'solution' that consistently works in my installation is as follows (resetting the Airport unit does not help every time):
Remove the usb disc from the airport unit.
Install it directly on the networked computer. It should appear on the desktop. Eject the disk. It should disappear from the desktop.
Repeat this on all computers attached to the airport unit.
Then put the disk back on the airport unit, and it will work until it fails again.
In my case the failures are in the range of 10 minutes to a few weeks. Enough to discontinue the use of the network disc, although it is a brilliant concept for the home/SOHO user.
Should be easy to fix though. Cleaning up the mess at the local computer should be possible to do with software, as well as with the physical act of attaching and disconnecting.

I re-installed Mozilla and when I open an e-mail it disappears and is replaced with bing search.

I cannot view my e-mails. The content appears momentarily and then disappears just leaving a bing search window.

I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and

On ios7 my iTunes Radio icon disappeared and was replaced with genius anyone know how I get the radio back?

I have had iOS 7 since beta 1 and I love iTunes Radio. After the official release my iTunes Radio icon dissapeared and became a genius one instead. This is really frustrating anyone know how I can get iTunes Radio back?

I have this issue too on my iPad. I went to the multitasking screen (double click the home button) then force quit iTunes (swipe the iTunes screen shot upwards) then relaunched iTunes and it appeared again. I think it is a bug as I've had to do this a number of times. Hope this works for you.

I have two iPhones and an ipad, everything is up to date.. I originally had an iPhone 3GS and an iPad2. I got an iPhone 4s and did a factory restore on the 3GS and gave it to my daughter.. All of the devices are on the same iCloud account with the contacts syncing option off.. My problem is that I was writing an address down one morning from my contacts in my iPad when all of the sudden the contact disappeared! In fact all of my contacts disappeared and were replaced with my daughters. I checked on my 4s and the same thing had happened, all my contacts were gone and replaced with my daughters.. well make sure the contacts are turned off for the phone you gave your daughter in icloud because when she deletes a contact from there, they delete from the rest of the devices, make her her own apple id just for icloud to prevent this issue

HT4191 Notes getting mixed up and or replaced with other users i-phone?

For some reason whenever I sync my i-phone 4s and my wife syncs her i-phone 4 to itunes on our laptop which is a compaq(I don't know if that might be a problem) by the way, some of her notes always gets deleted and gets replaced with my notes, and she'll have just a couple of her notes but most of mine. It's been driving us crazy for months now cuz we can't figure it out! Do we need to sync our phones on different computers? Is there a setting that I'm missing? What are we doing wrong????

This issue's significance is severe because data is permanently lost: After searching for contacts and editing one of the contact's Notes, all found contacts' Notes are replaced with the changed contact's Notes.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch the Contacts 7.1 app in OSX 10.8.2.
2. Search for a string that appears in several contacts' Notes field.
3. Click on one of the contacts in the search results.
4. Ensure that "Edit Card" mode is NOT enabled.
5. Alter the found string in the contact's Notes field.
6. Click on a different contact in the search results list.
Expected Results:
The change is saved and the changed contact disappears from the search results list.
Actual Results:
All found contacts disappear from the search results list, and all found contacts' Notes are replaced with the changed contact's Notes.
Regression:
This issue did not exist in OSX 10.7's Address Book app. I have not had the opportunity to test earlier releases of OSX 10.8's Contacts app.
