Why have my MIDI files disappeared?

All of my MIDI files were imported to iTunes last week and they played fine. When I open any of my MIDI files today I get the following message:
"The songs title "XXXX" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
I am able to add them again and they play fine but when I check to see where the file is located, it is the original folder, not the iTunes folder with the rest of my music.

Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear. I have downloaded and installed flash player several times on my Win7 Vaio laptop. I have uninstalled and deleted all versions. I am the administrator and I have also turned off my Security Software, but the same thing keeps happening over and over. The Java Script is enabled and I have tried both downloading via IE and firefox. It is rediculous that it keeps disappearing and I keep getting messages that the newest version is needed. I am downloading directly from adobe and they say it is the latest. Getting very frustrated. They ask if we have any problems when we go to the finish line, but there is no place for comments. I guess they don't really care if it works or not.

So is it actually installed, or is it not? If not, download and run the offline installers:

If a file with the same name is saved again then a version is created. You can see versions from the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files. From the Files page click on the file to go to its page. Switch from the Details tab to the Activity tab if needed. You will see the Current Version and any past versions.

Why do the MPEG files disappear each time a project is re-opened?.

For instance: I have a project file that I have built/format, written to a .img file and burned successfully to DVD. The size of the file is 7.82 GB. I reopened the file to make small changes and the file immediately reverts to 400MG and all the video files need to re-encode. Why does this happen? My preferences say to save encoded files in the Project Bundle; why do they disappear each time the project file it reopened? I happens to all my projects. I've saved duplicates of my project files. When I inspect the contents I can see that the MPEG files disappear on re-opening. Why? Help please!

That is why they dissappear.
you need to use compressor to encode your .mov fles into mpeg2 and ac3 assets. Imports these new files into dvdsp instead of the .mov files.
this will make your dvd encoding a whole lot quicker as they only need to be muxed at build time and not encoded.
you also get to preview your real assets rather then your pre-encoded assets.

Why do my pls files disappear when doubleclicked?

Someone asked me how to make an alias of a streaming radio station that they could just click, have it open iTunes and play.
While experimenting I found I could drag the radio station off the iTunes playlist to the desktop and it would create a URL. Doubleclicking the URL usually opened a browser, went to the site and downloaded a .pls file to the desktop. Doubleclicking that file opened iTunes and started playing the station.
Fine, I thought, I'll just rename the .pls file and use that as an alias to quickly get to the station. But alas, the .pls file disappears from the desktop once clicked, even if renamed and/or put into a folder.
I explained what I did to the person who originally asked and they were able to rename the files and not have them disappear on their Mac like mine did. Both of us are using 10.4.11.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Why is opening midi files so backwards in GB2?

One of my students wants to learn GB2.
I was surprised that you can not just simply "open" a midi file. Unless I've got this wrong it seems that I can only open a midi file by "drag/drop" a midi file in GB2.
This seems so backwards and clumsy.
Is this true that I can only open a midi file by drag/drop?
In all my other midi/audio sequencer programmes I simply do the "open" file command.

I'm not sure it's really "backwards". I mean, midi files are an element of a GB file which normally consists of a whole lot of other stuff.
"Opening" a midi file in GB, if it were possible, would be nothing but creating a new GB file and importing the midi (that's what other programs do when they open midi files). In my view, that would be somewhat misleading - if you can open a file format, you should be able so save it, too. And while the possiblility of exporting midi is on my wishlist, saving a GB file as midi is clearly not a sensible option.

Why do my pdf files disappear when placing into Indesign CC?

I was working a late night rush project. When I came to the point of placing pdf files in my indesign CC document nothing worked. The first files showed up missing their header. They next file simply did not appear on the page. They previewed ok. The eventual work around was to place them in Indesign 5.5, an older program. Then they came in fine. I need to have an answer to why this happened. I was not placing the files from the cloud on somewhere on the internet but from my hard drive. I am getting very frustrated with this new CC application.

Why have my tiff files on my external hard drive been converted to CR2 files?

I've been using Lightroom 3 with an external hard drive for a few years now with no problems.
I shoot raw with my Canon t1i and jpg with my Canon SX-10.
Just last week I hooked up my external hard drive and Lightroom wouldn't connect to it. Usually when I hook it up, Lightroom opens up automatically. At least it use to.
I looked at the drive and it seems the tiff files are now called CR2 (Canon Raw I think). Any idea why this happened and is there a way to get them back to where Lightroom will recognize them?
I can open them in Photoshop, but not Lightroom. I usually go first to Lightroom, then to Photoshop and back. Can't do it know though.

The TIF files may come from when you do a round-trip to PS and you either create a temporary TIF file on the way into LR, the default is to have –Edit.tif as the last part, or when you’re in PS and save any additional edits back to a TIF file. This LR-PS-LR processing may have created many TIF files that have the same base name as the underlying CR2. Both the CR2 and TIF files would have been visible in LR so maybe you’re remembering one extension more than the other.
The files you originally imported into LR would have been the CR2 files. What has happened to their location in the time between you originally imported them and now when you’re trying to hook things back up? If they’ve always been on the external drive then maybe the only thing wrong is that the drive letter has changed, but if you moved the files from their original location on the local drive to their archive location on the external drive, then did the folder-path to the photos stay the same, at least most of the path?
The way you normally fix things if the drive letter has changed or if the path has changed only a little, is you locate the file in LR’s folder structure, then right-click on the folder at the lift and choose Update Folder Location, then click over to the place on the external drive where that folder is, now, and click Ok. LR will hook up all the moved photos in that folder. The higher up in the hierarchy you locate the missing folder, the more folders underneath will automatically get updated. If you give us some information about the specific locations of the folders in LR when on the local drive and on the external drive, then we can give more specific advice what to do.

Why have my playlists suddenly disappeared?

Early 2009 MacPro Quad-Core (Nehalem)
Lion (10.7.4)
8gb RAM
iTunes 10.6.3
Woke my machine up this evening and found that all of the playlists in iTunes have disappeared. All of the music is intact (all 12,588 items)....but my playlists are all MIA. The list is compleatly blank.
Did a full power down and restart...no change.
Any ideas what happened? I have done nothing during which the playlists could have been inadvertantly deleted.
I do have Time Machine backups on file. Which files at what locations should I replace to get them back?

Why have my pdf files lost the Adobe pdf icon? Please help.

Hello all.
In transfering pdf files from my old PowerBook G4 to my new MacBook Pro, half of the pdf files now have a blank page as an icon. Also, all pdf files that I now create through print in Safari are blank. Nevertheless, all of these files open properly with Adobe Reader. This is the only type of file that lacks a proper icon. Why has the proper icon been lost & how do I solve this problem?

When you transfer files from another computer or over an FTP site or email, some of the info is sometimes lost. It's actually pretty rare from computer to computer but just about always happens on Internet transfers, although those mostly lose their icons.

Why have my January photographs disappeared from my ipad air but appeared on my ipad?

i took photos with the ipad air. they have synched with the ipad but the earliest ones have now disappeared from the ip air. As have other earlier photos. Also, I'm paying for extra Cloud but how do I access it ? Machine keeps saying I have no space but then shows I have only used a fraction of the cloud I have paid for! How do I unlock that space then?

i don't know why i have lost many photos from my ipad air. Many, but not all of them, are on my original ipad 2.
Should I just do something like reset everything? That always terrifies me as I do not want to lose all, any more, of my photos
