Why have the patch return codes changed?

When patching sparc Solaris 10, have the patch return code 2's now become code 1's? Why the change? Is there documentation somewhere about this? What other ones have changed?

Code 1 could indicate a number of different things besides patch allready installed which there is a code allready for. I do not really have the time to search through all the logs to verify this. I believe this is a problem that needs addressed.

Why have the types of instruments changed?

I reopened a tune today I had been working on yesterday and for some reason three of the instruments had changed to different types of instruments from what I had been working on yesterday. One was a kick drum, one was a bass line and the other an effect. I had saved the track before I shut down. Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to re-find 'that sound' I had previously generated in ultrabeat and ES1. Can anyone help?

Do you have read& write permissions to your iTunes library?

I tried to use an external hard drive from my windows computer that was formatted in NTFS Windows format. Mac Pro sees that hard drive as "read only". Itunes works on existing media on the hard drive to play music or movies, but when you try to purchase from itunes store and download you get the above message. You need to move your library to a library that is formatted in exFAT format (which can be used both by "windows" and mac computers.

If you have iTunes 11.1 on the computer and using the same cable for both iPods that indicates a problem with the iPod.
- Does it charge?
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Why does an error message say, you do not have the privilege to maje changes?

I tried to add a movie ti iTunes and a message came up saying I do not have the privilege to make changes. How do I get the privilege to make changes?

Solution:
Open Disk Utility.
Select your external hard disk and run a “verify” on it. After a few minutes (depending on the size of your drive), you should be good to go. You don’t need to run a “repair” on it... (at least I didn’t have to). See photo for reference.
This should fix the permissions issue, because on my Mac running Mountain Lion I was unable to edit the permissions in the get info dialog window even after "unlocking" the drive.

IPad 3 syncing issue on iOS6 - "You do not have the privilege to make changes"

I have updated my ipad 3 to iOS6 and now it is coming up with the following warning message when i try to sync "The iPad cannot be synced. You do not have the privilege to make changes" also it is not recognised wirelessly under devices, I have to connect with the usb cable.
I am having a similar issue on my iPhone 4s as well - this IS recognised wirelessly but has the saming warning message.
Both devices are updated to iOS6 and i am running iTunes 11.0.1

Finally managed to get this sorted, i noticed that it was at the point of the photos backing up i was getting the warning message so decided to try a few things,
What worked was holding down the option key and clicking on Aperture/iPhoto this gives you the option to select the library you want to choose from on your drive/external drive, i clicked the default one and reloaded Aperture.
Then i simply closed and re-opened itunes and it found the iPad wirelessly(still not sure why doing this on Aperture helped with this problem) then hit sync and everything worked OK.
I had changed nothing previously so unsure what started the issue whether it was iOS 6 or just an issue on my Mac but either way all works fine so i'm happy.

Why does the "Computer Name" sometimes change?

                Not a big deal, just curious, why does the "computer name" sometimes change?
                 The name will be the same, but it will add a number....2,3,4...I always change it back so it doesn't have a numeric value next to it, but just wondering why it happens.

Can also occur after your computer is put to sleep and then wakes back up or after your computer is force quit and immediately restarted. Sometimes the router 'believes' the computer is still connected when it actually isn't. When that computer re-establishes a connection the router 'tells' the computer that a computer with that name already exists so it has to change its name. By default a computer running MacOS adds a number (or increments its number) when this happens.

DW 8 Patch - Recordset Code Change

Hi All...
I've just updated my DW 8.0 to 8.0.2 due to the recent SQL Injection attacks.
Some of my recordsets are complex and i'm having trouble updating one in particilar.
I've posted the old code and the new code below.
I can see that the problem is caused in the SQL Select Statement code that the new patch creates   'Where RelatedProductID=?"
I'm hoping someone can offer a solution before i pull all my hair out :-)

Thank you for responding to my post.
With a fresh pair of eyes on me this morning, i managed to sort the problem out.
I simply removed the param's in the DW Recordset Bindings and re-added them using a separate param for each instance the param was called in the SQL Statement.
All working fine now :-D

I don't know what OS you are using, or what application you are using to view the data about your exported files, but on Windows and using Windows Explorer the "Date Created" field relates only to the date that the exported file was created, i.e. if viewed immediately after export it will show the date created as being the same date. In order to view "Capture Date" in something like Explorer, you first have to ensure you have included the Metadata as Conrad outlined above, then you have to adjust the display properties of Explorer to show the "Date Taken" field. Here is an example, part of a folder I exported back on March 3rd, note the difference between that last two dates:

Hey all, I am new to the mac scene, and successully managed to transfer my itunes library from PC format to Mac format with the songs all stored on a USB Hard drive which works great.
However I have tried to rip a CD today and I get the following message:
"Error occured while converting the file - You did not have the privilege to make changes"
Why is this happening? Ive read that it may be a permission issue on the USB HD?
I have only had my mac for 1 day so my knowledge is very limited.
EDIT - Actually, could this be to do with how the USB is formatted? NTFS.
If so, will I have to buy another USB Hard Drive and literally drag and drop everything from the old one to the new one, formatted the correct way?

Mac OS X can natively read from, but not write to, NTFS formatted drives.

that would be ideal. format the drive for Mac (HFS+).
alternatively, you could try installing the _*NTFS 3G*_ driver on the Mac.

I was looking through our resources for information based on what you are describing here. I found an article that may just get you back up and running, called iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1277.
Symptoms
With Mac OS X, the Shared folder is required to authorize your iTunes Store purchases. With Windows the iTunes folder is also required. If either of these folders are missing or have incorrect folder permissions, you may notice one of the following symptoms:
You are unable to complete a purchase from the iTunes Store.
You are told that you do not have permission to modify your iTunes Media folder when downloading from the iTunes Store.
You cannot play content you purchased from the iTunes Store.
An alert appears with the following text:"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required directory was not found or has a permission error."

Is it possible to have the same Split Code/Design view in CS5 that I had in CS3?

I am not a hard coder. However, like HTML, I could easily edit PHP in CS3 Dreamweaver's Split Code/Design view. It was more designer friendly, intuitive, etc. I could see/edit/move tables, placed graphics, text, etc. CS5 doen't allow me to see my PHP pages this way. Can this be fixed to have the same Split Code/Design view? I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.

To restore the cs3 style horizontal split of code and design views, go to the 'view' drop down menu and untick 'split vertically'.
