Why have you eliminated Favorites. Using Bookmarks is now a problem.

#
I just reloaded Firefox after major repair on my computer. Now there is no Favorites tab, just Bookmarks, and when I imported Favorites from IE it is jumbled between those in folders and those not. Also, I have to click on "Imports from IE" to open it. Also, your Bookmarks program is difficult to organize.

If the download page for that extension, that Tony hyperlinked for you, doesn't have enough of an explanation about that extension for you, see the developers website for more information about the PlainOld Favorites extension, ''and for a Firefox 4.0 beta version of POF.'' <br />

Why have you deleted all the common search engine in the search engine box. It appears that all you want to do is irritate your public!

They have not been deleted, as they are not present in your computer it indicates there is a problem with your system. Try removing the search.sqlite file as shown in the "Unable to search" section of this link - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_search_or_add_new_engines
That file contains details about the installed search engines, deleting the file will force Firefox to rebuild the list.

  • I'm sick of constant version updates. Why have you gone from 3 to 7 so quickly???

Why have you updated from version 3 to 7 so quickly instead of point releases like everyone else. Apps dont work and its annoying. I liked firefox but I'm sick of this and gonna look for another browser.

Mozilla has switched to a rapid release cycle and that means a major update every 6 weeks, so there is more to come till the end of this year.

We are basically users and can't really help with activation. So unless a staff member can check in, you need to speak to Customer Service.

  • Accessing Yahoo in IE 8, have choice of Favorites or Bookmarks. Accessing Yahoo in Firefox, only have choice of Bookmarks. Importing IE Favorites not working. Only Bookmarks imp0rt.

''Duplicate post, continue here - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/781497]''
I need to import IE 8 favorites, not bookmarks. They are not the same

If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.
*Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):<br>File > Import and Export
*Import the HTML file in Firefox:<br>Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Bookmarks from HTML

I am seeing very inconsistent before for simple imports UDF, simple adapters, etc. Things work better the first time only after a restart. Sometimes I can fail on the first UDF but other times I can get a couple out of 50.
    We are running 9.1.0.2 BP01, Weblogic 10.3, Oracle 10.2.0.4 2-node rac database.
    Any suggestions?

We have used. It was working fine for us.

  • Why have you removed the bookmarks side panel button? This is THE most important feature of firefox.

Since last update of firefox, the button to open the side bar bookmarks have been removed (ctrl+B) equivalent.
I don't want to do a ctrl+B command in a graphical interface that I use so often. There is no good enough extension for that task.
This is THE reason I used firefox since the begining.
I have gazillions of bookmarks cleanly ordered since YEARS of web browsing. This is the way I use internet. If I have a project I create a folder and I put every interesting links I want to remember in it. There is no way to do that in a dropdown menu which close at every click.
I know people who use chrome and keep up to 60 tab open just to remember what they need.
I just spent half a day searching for proper extension in chrome and opera.
I feel so frustrated and powerless in front of browser developpement, I have to tell it. I would gladly pay 20$ per year to keep that function there, a single button sending ctrl+B command, so simple and already coded.
Firefox was my only browser for years, I leave you with that. Now I'm going to download and try the new internet explorer.

You can find the link to open the bookmarks in the sidebar at the top of the bookmark menu button list that opens if you click the folder button (Show your bookmarks) next to the bookmarks star on the Navigation Toolbar.
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.
    *Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
*You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
*You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)
In current Firefox releases (29 and later), that have have the Australis user interface, the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three-bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar and this button is always visible, whether you have the menu bar visible or hidden<br>A consequence of this location is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
*There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.<br>You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
*If you bookmark a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark"
*You can make the title bar visible via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window
It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to have menus like the File menu with Print (Ctrl+P) and Print Preview and the Bookmarks menu available.

  • Why have you left a job half done and my company w...

I'm dreadfully sorry that I can't provide you with the Broadband phone number,
unfortunately, BT have not completed a line switch, and have left my company
without Internet access, so I can't access this information.
From memory it might be 020 *********, but that's a guess!
But the company is FT Technologies and their post code is: TW11 8PA.
And my work email is **************, but you might want to send any
correspondence to my personal one as you've broken the work one:
BT were meant to come and switch our Internet connection from one building to
    another today.
They told us that it was all very simple, they would install the new line,
deactivate the old line and make the new one live, that the process was
    practically instantaneous.
Two engineers turned up, they'd double booked the job.  They did something to
the new line.  They then tried to run away without a word.  I had to get the
receptionist to stop them so I could talk to them.  They told me that they had
done their part, that the rest would happen automatically, but it was nothing to
do with them, they couldn't even speak to the department that did this part of
    the job.
I find it incredulous that no one seems to have overall responsibility for a
job, that one department can't speak to another to liaise, organise, check that
something has been completed to the customer's satisfaction.  But rather try and
slope off as soon as possible and hope no one notices.
A recalled engineer then told me the rest of the job would all happen `in under
    an hour'.
An hour and fifteen minutes later I call the Broadband help line as the switch
    had not happened.
The operative apologised, said it should have happened and then went away to do
something.  He spoke of the internal infrastructure within BT, I told him this
was of no importance to me as the customer, I just wanted my job finished.
I can't help feel that this internal separation has the effect of obfuscating the
facts and allow the ownership of a problem to be passed around He willy nilly.
He kept speaking in internal BT jargon.  He reported back that the switch had
    now occurred.
I explained I didn't understand what he was saying but the switch hadn't
happened, I knew this because I was monitoring both the new and old lines.
He tried again and informed it was now happening automatically.  I enquired when
it would be complete.  He waited a few seconds and told me again that the switch
    had now completed.
I told him, correctly, that it hadn't!
Again, how can the operatives so blatantly tell the customer things that are
blatantly not factually correct?  Luckily for me I had the technical knowledge
and equipment to check the veracity of what I was being told, many will
not be so lucky.  This coupled with the jargon the operatives hide behind
further obfuscate and insulate BT from dealing with issues.
I was put on hold several more times, afterwards, each time I was told some
jargon, spun to imply things were all fine and dandy, when in fact the
    opposite was the case!
After yet another delay I was told that the new line wouldn't go live until
    after 20:00.
I explained that this was not acceptable and that I wanted to speak to someone
that could resolve this matter.  He replied that there `wasn't anybody'.
So I asked to speak to his manager, he replied `that's who I was just talking
to', as if to say it wasn't worth it.
I insisted that I be transferred anyway, which I was.
His boss told me that rather than 20:00 it was more likely to be after 24:00
before the changes would be made.
Again I asked to be put through to someone would could help me.  I was informed
that there was no one.  I suggested that this was not the case, BT didn't all go
home at 6:00.  I requested that she find someone.  She put me on hold, an hour
later I was still on hold, at that point I had been on the phone for nearly 3
    hours.
Our computer systems were in limbo.  True there was Internet connectivity via
the old line, but this could switch at any point and we would loose the
connection.  I could wait until there was evidence that the lines had been
switched then relocate the routing equipment.  But that could be after midnight
according to the latest estimate - and to be fair all estimates so far had
proven to false and given more to acquiesce the customer rather than being based
    on fact.
In the end I relocated the equipment in the vain hope that at some point BT
would actually do what they had promised several times before.
And that's where we're currently at.  My company has no communications because
of an uncompleted job by BT, everyone at BT has apparently gone home, and there
is no believable idea of when things will be rectified.  My bosses don't give a
**bleep** about BT, their broken promises, their internal procedures - all they know
is that I have broken things.
So I was just wondering whether you could be so kind as to answer the following
    questions for me:
1, Why were we lead to believe that when the engineers left we would have a new
    working internet connection?
2, Why did your engineers slope off without informing us of the situation?
3, Why, when recalled, were we told that the job would be completed in less than an
    hour?
4, Why was this not true?
5, Why can't one department in BT talk to another?
6, Why does your helpdesk talk in jargon, and not technical jargon, a BT variety
that is not understandable to those outside the organisation?
7, Why do the departments hide behind the internal infrastructure that then
allows them to say, metaphorically at least, `sorry guv., nothing to do with me,
that's a different section altogether, but unfortunately neither you or I can
    communicate with them directly'?
8, Why was I told that the switch happen at 8:00 when it wasn't?
9, Why did the timescale slip to 12:30?
10, Why was I left permanently on hold?
11, Why could I not be transferred to someone who could help me?
12, These changes are simple, it requires a change to a routing table, the could
be done instanteously!  Why are we lead to believe, unreasonably, that they are
    somehow difficult and time consuming?
13, Can I have a job with BT if mine is no longer available thanks to you guys?
    Regards,
    Gavin Bungay.

  • Why do you continue to use a G4?

This may seem like an odd question as I assume that the obvious answer is economics for some, the need to still use OS9 for others and the fact that older G4's are cheap and highly upgradeable/hackable.
I bring this up because, I-like many on here, are looking (or already have) to spend hundreds of dollars upgrading our G4's but it dawned on me that instead of spending $600 or $700 to upgrade my machine I could use that money (coupled with what I get from selling my MDD) and purchase a faster G5.
The G4 line is testament to the sound design of the Apple PowerMac, but at some point technology will surpass it-future versions of OSX and other software may only work on-a bare minimum- the G5.
    I dunno, just curious

I use the G4 because I do simple computing such as surfing the I-net, playing archaic 1980's-1990 based games, and some games of today though not as much. I also use the computer for everyday tasks such as: burning DVDs+CDs, making music cds, etc. I use it for word processing and microsoft office applications.
Although, I do make good money working for the US Gov't, I still don't have the funds to further upgrade to a newer machine, esp since personally I have a hatred towards the intel architecture and its technology - hense why I won't go with a Mac Pro b/c of that + the price is way too high.
If anything I will continue to use the G4 MDD as it serves my needs and probably will for the many years to come. I plan to run Slackware linux on my computer when I feel mac os x won't run on my machine. I do plan to get Leopard, thats if it is supported on the G4 MDD machine. Although, my blue prints for the future state that I probably will return to the PC architecture under the powerful processing power of AMD which is a cool processor for almost anything.
Although, I have A+ certification and network certs in PC networking, I have given up the technology, and so my knowledge goes back to P3 and earlier intel based machines.
A few interesting dates as to when I started on the Mac.
Circa 2000-2001 = Worked at Comp-USA as a corporate account manager/retail hardware sales representative and decided to buy the then 350mhz sawtooth or AGP Graphics power mac G4.
Because of financial difficulties I wound up selling my mac and restoring all power back to my Pentium III 866mhz machine with the full 768mb of pc133 memory. This was from late 2001-2005.
Late 2005 - Having been macsick over the fact that I sold my mac back in 2001 I came across the sawtooth mac again, but this time at 500mhz using the 7410 power4 processor. I purchased this one off of ebay.
End of 2005 - decided to search ebay for a better board and processor and this led me to the rise of the digital audio power mac g4 - THE MAC AT THIS STAGE IN MY LIFE WAS SET IN STONE. PowerPC all the way, until....
2006-present = Still have G4 Digital Audio and passing this onto my son. The processor is a 733mhz processor w/1MB cache. Then on craigslist I just acquired the Mirror Drive Doors G4 with Dual processors running at 1.25GHZ w/4 MB total L3 cache(2MB/Processor). I am loving this machine very much, but with Apple finally going with the PC technology and abandoning the power architecture, I am contemplating either later on looking into the G5(pending comfortable price level) - or reviving the PC and going with an AMD OPTERON system, however using Linux or BSD instead of windows vista.
All in all, this Mac is a very very powerful machine and I enjoy using it. I am sorry to those out there that think the G4 and possibly G5 can't provide basic/intermediary computing, but for the price of the new mac intel pc's, I can say that its better to consider a native PC than dual booting mac/pc. This is my own opinion of course. I am sorry if I have seriously offended people and Apple on here, but I am entitled to my own opinion. Mac OS X is based off of BSD and similar to FreeBSD which I used to run on my P3 system. I just don't see the cost for paying overpriced dollars for a machine that has more power than I could ever need.
For what I do and most on here will agree with me: 3ghz is something that I really don't need at the present, possibly not at all.
    God Bless to everyone!

  • Why have you removed PhoneGap Build from Dreamweaver CC?

From Dreamweaver October 2014 release is now live! Important information.
"Phonegap Integration deprecated: To ensure that you have access to the latest Phonegap updates, this feature is deprecated. You can use http://build.phonegap.com directly to package your applications."
How to kill a perfectly good service!

The service is still there.  You'll get the latest version directly from the PhoneGap site.  It's impractical to update Dreamweaver with new versions of PhoneGap Build every time PG changes.

  • Why have i lost the use of word, power point etc with lion

Why does lion not support word, powerpoint etc. Also Adobe reader.
If i had known, i would not have downloaded lion !

Upgrade to Office 2011 (I assume you have 2004) and there is a new version of Reader at the Adobe site, download it.

  • Why are you updating Firefox so fast? I get problems with my Internet Bank every time before they have updated their software. And by that time you already have a new version.

I get a popup that tells there is a new version and I don't know how to get rid of it.
As I have said in the question I get problems when you are updating too many times in a year.
I didn't know where to ask this question. Maybe there is a better place, but I could not find it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did finally find out that I could uncheck Firefox update and wait until my bank have done their update. (And I can of course use Internet Explorer...) But I still think you make new versions too fast.
